I have played GTA since it existed. I pointed out only it was wrong to stop upgrading the PS3 version. I paid the same for it as my PC version. You play another game troll. lol :p

It was not wrong at all. It was wrong to give last gen any 2015 updates. But you found the solution yourself. Install the PS4 firmware on your PS3 and run the PS4 version. This should work just fine...........lmao.last time i checked installing ps4 software on a ps3 was "possible" but resulted in the ps3 getting bricked.

his "friend" gotta be a genius if he managed to actually run a ps4 game in a ps3(which i doubt) given the fact that OS is designed for a different hardware that is not present on the ps3.

It's fair business practice to me. What's more corrupt is your demands for your own conveniences at the cost of others.

If anyone reading this post hadn't realised it already - GTA online is a game about material gain. It's all about how much money you have and what you can do with that money. If you've got no GTA cash you're essentially no-one in this game. Rockstar know that and price things slightly out of reach for the average player to force them into making microtransactions.

Rockstar is a company of greed. Everywhere you look there are examples of it. A great example is the small bank in paleto bay in story mode paying a ton of money, BUT THE LARGEST BANK IN LOS SANTOS IN ONLINE PAYS 1,250,000 ON HARD?!?!?! I believe that heists are rockstars fools gold. They tempt you with promise of big pay and money but really they're just a load of crap. During heists 90% of the time you either fail or someone quits. so first off, rockstar is scamming you because their heists don't pay nearly enough. My second point on how they are scamming you is by inflating the prices from story mode to online. In story mode you can see that most prices are cheaper than online. They are hoping that by inflating their prices that you will buy a quick shark card to get cash and afford their outrageous prices (10k for a shirt? Cmon man!) a third way I believe they are scamming us is by making the jobs pay less. They knew rooftop rumble and coveted (remember those) were making us rich and I'll bet my a$$ that shark card sales were at an all time low so they figured hey if we make it hard as heck to earn cash they will have to buy money and if they glitch we can ban them! This really dissapoints me because I always thought rockstar was above this micro transaction bs but I was wrong. Anyway I felt this was necessary because as the ill gotten gains part 2 approaches we all need to be wary that the prices are gonna be beyond expensive because rockstar will just feed us some "special luxury item bs" do you feel the same way about rockstar?

I tried to read that wall 'o text, but just reading the first few lines and seeing Shark cards, the above image is all I though. Also, split up your post next time so it is not just a wall of text.

I bought the game twice and have over 80 days of playtime, I think rockstar got scammed on this one.

Some sarcasm there :) But you've been promoting GTA online for 80 days. Every friend that comes online sees you playing GTA online and thinks, ah he's playing GTA online again, must be a good game that.

Nah I think they're thinking, "Jesus Christ he's still playing GTA? f*cking no life." or "doesn't he have work in the morning? Why the f*ck is he awake playing GTA?"

You guys were not unfriendly, but if you read back to my original post? Many were, and they dragged what I said way out of proportion, and off the actual topic totally, and fast! lol xD As I said. I never tried this, and my topic "which was blown totally away with silly "picking parts" of what I said to try and be clever was simply stating they stopped applying even basic patches, events, simple weapons, vehicles, etc to GTA V for PS3, and it cost the same as my PC version. AS far as I shouldn't "expect" them to update gta v on such ann "old machine"? They shouldn't sell a game for a system if they re not able to keep it updated to begin with?. lol I only mentioned a friend of mine "goofig off" put PS4 firmware in a PS3, and played a PS4 game. As a comment. And he did. But for the "smart alecks" WHO TURNED IT TO A TROLL FEST? When I was caring less about that, and only about the lack of PS3 updates? Here is 1 such video showing it can be done. (not that I care, or need to prove anything to people too unfriendly to even read my original actual post!)

There is your video an earlier commenter wanted. There is one for xbox there as well I saw... lol I ORIGINALLY simply said I wished they had not stopped patching the PS3 version as many of our friends still play there, and none of us intend to buy a PS4 and the game again, when it will be on ebay as "yesterdays junk" the same way we got our PS3's in 1 to 2 years. We got the PC version now, as I have since the very first ever GTA was launched. :p Happy gaming everyone. :) Edited by Confucious

You're not really forced.

It's really not that hard to make money in this game just playing it normally.

lol "free" updates. For the Episodes of Liberty City when they came out was around $40. With every "free" update added to online would cost more than $2000 in shark cards. Remember that one user spent $1,000 on shark cards which is only $80 million in game. Last 6 updates is almost $95 million for all of the stuff added. So you want a billion $ online? Get your parents credit card and get ready to spend $12,500 or $25,000 for $2 billion.

8 million in game = $100

80 million in game = $1,000

800 million in game = $10,000

1.6 billion in game = $20,000

I guess this is true if for some reason you were cursed to only buying shark cards.

What happened to just playing the game for money though? Beats WOW-style expansion packs anyday.

You might want to reread that. I said I haven't paid them out of pocket. I had enough credits on my XBL rewards account from buying other games to get CG version of V without using any of my own money.

Well although I agree, glitching/modding/exploiting money will always be wrong (ONLY if the economy is equal [assuming no-one has glitched, exploited, modded etcetera....]).

It is Rockstar's game and if they made it so that we have to replay missions, sell sh!t over and over again to make a fictitious living, so be it. If they made it to accompany their concept of shark cards, so be it. We get updates for free (excluding that stunt they pulled with LG users forcing them to upgrade by intentionally not fixing LG patch issues). If I worked for my money in-real-life, and want to make a couple extra g's to afford a car immediately, then sue me if I buy a shark card.

It is due to the modders/exploiters/hackers/glitchers that have ruined the in-game economy of GTA Online.

Yes there was a huge increase in prices when transitioning from GTA V to GTA online for the 1st time in 2013. But compared to modern day GTA Online prices (cough cough Benny's, etcetera), that was due to modders. Say what you will about the whole heists execuse. I'm about lvl 400 since 2013, only own 35-ish cars, with 5 garages/apartments, with a few pegasus vehicles and after the heists (including criminal mastermind challenges, etcetera), I only have $200,000. Accounting for the errors, extra work and extra hours (more than me), someone who also earned their cash legitametly could have around 7.5 million (max).

Still not enough to afford a yacht, to be a VIP, to afford Benny Vehicles, to afford the important or unique pegasus vehicles, or a total of 50 tuned cars.

It's funny how you see players that immediately broadcast newly released vehicles, features like yachts, lowriders, etc.. on youtube, are able to attain them quickly and in their videos, you can clearly see that (most of them, if not all) have their cash above 30-50 mil even after having bought all the pre-released vehicles...Interesting huh?? Especially conspicuous if they are lvl 250 or lower with that insane amount of money (after all expenses).

Because the majority of players have illegitamely obtained funds, it infuriates legit players as well making the game unbalanced economically. As time goes on, the number of illegitimate players will keep rising persuading more legit players to turn to the dark side until everyone will become equal; maybe finally resulting in one HUGE reset for all, or maybe a shutdown of GTA Online because of the lack of purpose of shark cards (to keep servers up).

We can all get mad now and slowly wait until the final demise of GTA Online economy or we can try to put an end to exploiters/glitchers/modders/hackers now by trying to convince R* to really crackdown on players and really ban all the players who have abused the system by relinquishing them of their vehicles, pegasus vehicles, yachts, benny's, etcetera...but don't blame shark cards. They are what is keeping GTA Online patching/updating active.

We buy the disk versions. Which tbh was a bit of a waste for GTA V for PC. You had to log online, register, and download an insanely large patch to even play the offline mode at all. And that was on release day. Not due to (new) updates. So if you were unfortunate enough not to have internet? I guess you didn't even play offline? lol :X Ah well, life goes on. lol :D

The online part of GTA? I agree. They have a right to control what is did, as we all know online IS created to generate continued funds for the game after you buy it. Offline gaming however? To me? Do whatever you want, as long as it gains you nothing online. It is your game after all. The online they control, but offline? To play offline should require nothing online to even play it honestly. Unless you want your offline achievements to show online. If you care about that? Then I can see the point of not wanting someone getting an achievement using offline with a cheat. That is simple to. Like older GTA, and other games. If you use a cheat? Achievmwnts get auto disabled. I don't grudge shark card sells. I DO grudge not keeping the game standard current on all platforms however. At least the offline part, and even the online should get updated. Unless it requires more money for the addition.. You DO pay for it. Every game I ever bought provided free patches for your offline games. It only cost if it was special added DLC. Not basic updates everyone gets without additional charge.

OP is a genius and a GOD!

Those defending the greed of Global Corporate Evil yeah we get it, I saw Wall Street and Michael Douglass was great as Gordon Gecko saying "GREED IT GOOD".

But is it? IS IT?

*MAYBE* Heists were designed to be flawed (one person drops, mission over) so that nominally we have a mode that we could grind and make fantastic amounts of cash BUT by creating an intentionally flawed game design we spend more time in lobbies and being disconnected/unable to download/console frozen INSTEAD of other activities which would, in that same time period we spent in one lobby trying to play one damn setup, net us much more money.

OP is onto something.

Question is, how DEEP does the Rabbit Hole go?

This is all part of the "I must have it now, don't want to do anything for it" mentality.

You earn fake money to buy fake things by playing a fun video game. If you wanted to, you could own everything in the game on the installment plan for the original $60 plus tax purchase fee.

Your sense of entitlement makes you think that it should be easier to have the things you want sooner. This whole thread is bullsh*t.

We grind out our money. It makes the things we get how would I put it? "feel good" to have I guess. If we "got it all" now? Would get boring fast. But I do understand many people lives do not allow the time to "grind out things" they want. I guess the shark cards are good fo them. But yah, many just "want it all right now". Immediate gratification. You got a point there. It's their right. But I would get bored fast if I did that. Besides. We cannot afford that! lol :D

I love this game, but the GTAO business model is only a few steps removed from the pay to win business model employed by many crap mobile games, and that has me a bit worried for the future of R* games.

Shark cards are a complete rip-off. You get absolute sh*t for the real life money you pay. The game has been altered many times since launch in order to tempt the average player to buy shark cards. The only other option if you want to enjoy the game to the fullest is to make this game your entire f*cking life and grind all the fun out of it, or to glitch. Thank god for glitching.

Call me entitled if you want, but you're missing the point. I've spent $120 on this game buying it twice with no regrets, and would be happy to spend more if I felt that it was money well spent, but the value of shark cards is absolute sh*t. It is a f*cking joke what you get with those. It's not entitlement to want to spend your time and money wisely.

i made the mistake of buying one sharkcard for the roosevelt but i ended up selling it and getting two cars instead.so your saying that people should spend their money wisely huh,i spend money wisely and haven brought one since and it also seems you rather people not buy then as it isnt spending their money wisely.people can do what they want with it and not have someone tell them not do something, that would be like telling someone do something and it not ending well.
