OT: would be a great idea :) some time ago i came up with the idea of putting your snapmatics up on the walls as pictures. :p

You know, that actually sounds really good!

It is a fantastic idea.

Well I guess it would give those of us with everything something else to spend our money on and spend time on. If GTAO could become more varied, it would be much more fun to play :)

I guess if they were to release new apartments, they could implement a different loading system which creates a new instance of an apartment for each separate person, so that these apartment improvements could be implemented. Hell, it could be the reason to trade up properties, much like when the (High life?) update came and dropped new apts. with a different interior!

"because this isn't the Sims" some asshole will say.

Well you said it. Does that make you an asshole?

Because Rockstar doesn't realize they could learn a thing or two from the Sims.

I'm sure they absolutely do realize it, and have gotten this request many thousands of times, not to mention have sat and rolled their eyes at hundreds of YouTube "leaks" purporting that we'd be able to do this in the next DLC. The thing is, a lot of programming goes into a game like this - a lot of programming that isn't in The Sims. So aping the entire feature set of an entirely different game - hell, even aping 25% of it - is not as easy as it sounds.

No one cares, this game doesn't revolve around you.

You make it sound like the game revolves around you.

To the people who want this feature, I have a question: What is appealing about the ability to change your apartment? I totally get that having facets of the game reflect your personality is nice. That's why there are so many car mods/clothing options. The difference is hardly anyone would see it in the apartment. Lots of players never visit their own house, save to start heists. Even fewer invite people over.

Do the people who want this really think it is the most pressing thing R* should focus on? Think how much time would go into a feature that could be spent on something huge swaths of the community would enjoy instead? Something like new types of missions, more game map, etc...

What are the ideas of the imaginary apartment redesign mechanics anyway? Would you be able to pick color and textures for you walls, couches, pictures, or do you just get to choose which set of predetermined tables the bong sits on? I'm interested in hearing how supporters of this idea think it would work in game.

It doesn't matter who sees the apartment. I see it. That is all that matters.

You only responded to, like, 1/3 of my post but that's okay. I'm not sure I believe your response fully. The advantage to GTA Online is that there are others to interact with. If you had the interior design feature you want, whatever that is, in single player, would you be happy? My gut tells me you wouldn't care about it being there.

I for one would love that kind of customization to be anywhere in this damn game

Why not some basic apartment customization, like Playstation Home or the old PSP Sims games? Interchangeable floors and wallpapers and the ability to purchase and move around furniture, that is as much as you need.

More interactive objects you could purchase for your apartment would be cool too. Maybe arcade machines or jacuzzis or, why the hell not, mini bowling alleys?

I honestly don't know why we can't edit our inner apartments I mean we can make our own races or missions in creator but why not make your own apartment or atleast edit the inner of the apartments... I think they should add a hot tub and a useable fridge idk.. But ya what do y'all think?, for short should they make it so you can edit the insides of your apartment

If I want that I'll play SIMS, I'm never in my apartment except for the heist planning board. I could care less what it looks like!

Not saying that I disagree with the previous post of yours, but here`s a thing: we already got "pimp my unseen or rarely seen stuff", by the addition of the golden plane and heli. Granted it is just a cheap reskin that probably took no longer than one hour, but the concept is already there - add stuff that nobody gives a sh*t about and will be just gathering dust in some inventory somewhere.

It is just the same concept - I see said reskin only barely, me and whatever friends I invite, just as everybody sees their golden reskins only barely.

This doesn`t say that I like ANY of the two, but it IS the same thing to a point, to something that is already in the game.

What is this, Apartment Decorator Simulator 2015? :v It is an interesting, but silly. I think most people prefer blowing eachother up, then moving a couch around. lol

Forget that. IMO This Games Needs A lot More Stuff Added to it, Than Just Allowing Someone to Customize Apartments. A place that I might add, Not a lot of people Spend time in, unless they are hosting heists.

I'm sorry but, If You Really want to Design Living Spaces for Houses or Apartments, Get off GTA Online and go to School and be an Interior Decorator IRL. I hear they Pay Well in a lot of Places now.

Because that would be such a pain to code.

Here's how mapping works: Model entry and flags > Model placement > Models/Textures

You would basically need to rewrite how each apartment is structured and such. Too much effort for basically nothing. We're more likely going to be able to choose color schemes.

GTA Online will live on for years. Who gives a f*ck how hard it is? They've got money. They've got a huge and devoted team. Do they want to sit around and be lazy or get people talking about GTA Online like it's the hot sh*t again? I'm betting it's the latter. So they better get to it. Edited by Scaglietti

Because the apartment spaces are in fact shared. if someone generated an additional object in Apartment 3 of Eclipse towers everyone in the lobby who had Apartment 3 in Eclipse Towers would see the same object. The players are invisible and unable to interact with one another but they are in the same world space.

is that the reason why sometimes I will come home to find my Tv on and my radio tuned to a station that I hate?? and then get dinged for daily utility charges and maintenance charges when I haven't even BEEN in the thing???

GTA Online will live on for years.

It will LANGUISH for years yes, but it hasn't LIVED in quite a while

Who gives a f*ck how hard it is?

If it doesn't make when money directly, they don't give a sh*t.

They've got money.

...which is clearly allotted to other projects, Online it seems operates are the barest of minimum of cost and effort

They've got a huge and devoted team.

...Again working on other projects, the DLC releases and QA are a joke, which seems like it's being created and run by interns with bad attitudes and NOT devoted or even experienced dev teams

Do they want to sit around and be lazy or get people talking about GTA Online like it's the hot sh*t again?

They want to sit around operating this SIDS baby of a game at the barest minimums of cost and effort and watch their money roll in from shark card sales, only tossing us a bone every now and then to keep us remotely interested.

The shame of it is, they could have made this game so much better, executed it in such a way it would of been their go to product for years, and been a worthy entry into their catalog, but no they decided to make a run for the money like a two bit ho, whether this is their choice or take-two's I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a behind the scenes change in management who then ordered the budget slashed for online and allotted it to other products.

Includes new couches and beds. Lamps and more house hood goods. Why spend your money on cars you will only drive once in your life?
