So if Steven Ogg worked on GTAO what's to say that anything done with Ned Luke and/or Shawn F would be for an SP dlc?

 

R* might just put them in character parts for gtaonline like they did Ogg.

 

This would fufill the promise of "M F & T's continued adventures in Los Santos" (or whatever the wording was.)

Maybe a sequel and prequel at the same time. The story starts out with flashbacks to Franklin visiting his mom on her deathbed while he's aged 20 out in North Yankton, about 2008. Turns out she ran off to NY, snorted more coke, and managed to have organs failing left and right thanks to complications of pneumonia. Franklin flies back to LS and attempts suicide, but decides he should pay for his crime before taking the easy way out. It's what his runaway daddy would want. The police arrive, Franklin turns himself in, and is incarcerated at Bolingbroke.

 

The story shifts to Trevor staring at the prison in disgust, thinking nothing of meeting a future protagonist. He's in the middle of starting TPI with his new friends Ron and Wade, who he has met through various ways.

 

Michael on the other hand hardly has a story to tell between 2004 and 2013. There's a minor flashback to his life and raising two kids and being in an unfaithful marriage. There's not much to be discussed as the SP story already described enough.

 

Fast forward after a few TPI missions, it's now 2014 and the gang meet back up. "I thought you were both dead," says Franklin. The three laugh and continue on various heists, and ultimately decide to turn Dave Norton in, expose the Michael Townley story through a movie, and Michael decides with his kids grown up enough to move out with his wife back to North Yankton, where he donates most of his ill gotten gains back to the town. TPI is booming more than ever, now in Vice City and Carcer City territories, and Franklin is back in prison for robbing a KFC. The end.

I feel like that couldn't work for GTA, with it's open-world/sandbox design.

 

Flashbacks for Max Payne 3 worked, since the game was linear. With GTA though, jumping around like that just wouldn't work.

I wasnt actually serious writing my idea. Even I knew it was crap. Either prequel, or sequel, not both at the same time.

The heists are a prequel for Trevor, you see how he got the impotent rage statue. Small but a prequel thing.

We can't get a prequel, Franklin and Trevor's lives were more interesting months before the game events, but what about Michael?

I made that point already. Between 2004 and 2013, what story could you tell with Michael besides raising kids in a rich mansion, cheating on your hot wife, and attempting to stay quiet? It'd be pretty lackluster, hence why I said it wouldn't work. I'd like to learn how Trevor gets TPI and more of Franklin's early life.
