Dunno why people automatically hate companies for financially focused decisions. Rockstar doesn't make video games for the charity, and in fact, they are easily one of the better AAA companies, and the best I've seen in terms of "microtransaction" models.

Bungie is releasing a 20$ microtransaction...for two sets of cosmetic items.

Your money is supporting a proper developer.

You do know R* doesn't see the money, T2 does.

Think about it.

Fair enough, but Take2 doesn't seem to have too many bad games as a publisher either, MUCH better than Ubisoft or EA.

This thread makes me itch.

Well, maybe not. Don't worry about che... Buying a CC it keeps R* going

It's your money op nothing wrong with that. I rather earn the money in game as it's easy to accumilate vast sums. On top of that I have learned a lot about the game while making that cash.

My question is, are you going to stay in free roam and just flush your real cash down the drain, or are you going to pit it towards things that can help you make cash (insurgent, armored kuruma, heist heavy armor/bullet proof helmet)? What are you doing with your kk purchases?

R* offers us entertainment. The $60 price of admission seems like a bargain after all my time in game. There is nothing wrong with giving them extra cash if that's what you want to do.

Also, op, THANK YOU....

Your real cash spent allows me to get dlc WITHOUT SPENDING A REAL DIME OF MY OWN $$$. I can earn cash easily, so spend your REAL CASH, ill play missions, survivals, and yes HEISTS, one run yesterday we got to the dingy WITH THE WHOLE $1.25 MILLION....

You got me curious so I just worked it out. I've bought and played the game on two consoles (PS3 and PS4), and at my current playing time I've had roughly 30 minutes of gaming per penny. That's insanely cheap.

inb4 "Cool story bro" "s**t thread" "point is?" "gg kid. Mom's wallet is dry now."

Well, I love you too.

I bought a f**kin Megalodon Kesh Kerd.

I couldn't handle having little money in my pocket compared to what I read and hear on the daily. It just...killed me (in a sense of poverty.)

I promised myself since Day 1 of KK's that I wouldn't support R*'s greed; no matter how desperate. IGP's (In game purchases) were bad since day one unless done right. GTAO is no exception.

And I did.

Here's the thing: Am I supposed to feel this way? Guilty that I am just pushing a company's greed one step further? Or happy now I'm a little less broke.

Also, I know this is a game, and I shouldn't take this serious, but this is my money invested in virtual money for what? A sense of accomplishment? Anyways, have you people supported KK's? And how far did it go? I'm interested to see how some people might say, "I've bought 47 just yesterday" or "I can't. Dad won't let me :( "

EDIT: FYI, I have 14.5 Mil now.

Now you can buy this as well:

I was going to buy one once when I was like Lvl 60..

I told this dude I was friends with and he freaked out "Whaaa.. Hold the f*ck on, don't be stupid. Let me talk to someone"

2hrs later in a session with a modder friend of his and he's making it rain.

All I can say is, spend that in-game money wisely.

If you blow those stacks fast on IGG 2 it's going to make that $100 seem very insignificant.

For example, I spent $20.8Million on IGG1 and this Independence Day Event(I wasn't playing last year). It's real easy to blow cash in this game and alot harder to get it back.

the sad thing is that you spend $100 IRL money to buy 8millions GTA$ and in gta terms, you still barely over the poverty line.

Don't feel bad man,you are spending an extra 100 dollars for amazing game, while helping to fund future DLCs

W/o people like you,we wouldn't get the DLCs we have today.

All I reccomend is that you take it as an investment, don't burn it on FR,get items that will help you earn your money back.

Contributing to an amazing game is better than contributing to some crap yearly release. :)

The thing that makes me laugh is for $100 dollars real money, its still not enough to buy that gold jet (that you cant even smoke and drink if you dont own it), you still would need $2 million in game money. What a joke.

I've always promised myself I wouldn't go the cash card route...

But I'd be lying if I said I haven't been at least a little tempted on numerous occasions.

Embezzlement

In the end it boils down to Time is Money.

If you have more Money than you do Time, it was a good investment.

Most people (not all) don't like Cash Cards because they either can't afford them or have more Time to play games, and can't quite fathom someone else having Money to spend however they please.

Not A Nice Person

I think $100 for 8million is a total ripoff, but it's your money do whatever. I believe I supported R* enough when I paid $120 total for this game.

We Are Ninja

If you enjoy the items you bought or will buy, and/or the peace of mind that comes with not being perpetually hurting for in-game cash, then it was money well spent.

To recap:

Two common reactions.

"It's fine. Nobody gives a f*ck."

And

"HAHA YOU BOUGHT A CASH CARD YOU f*ckTARDO"

Me, I bought an ingame hat in Uncharted 3 for two dollars. It literally does not do anything. I only wore it for a week.

So if you think you wasted money, I spent a total of $50 dollars on Uncharted 3 items I also stopped using.

I bought a great white one to cover the rest of the Osiris. I'd rather spend an hour working in the shop than 10 hours grinding jobs on xbox

Soran Is On

I always felt like kersh kerds were kind of admitting youre not good enough to make good money in the game.

I've always felt my greatest successes in the game were obtaining large amounts of cash more illegitimately than even the game allows. Hooker glitch, duping rebels, playlist challenges. Those felt like the real heists to me.

You did knew the hats are like 99c if you access the in-game store right :p?

After about 3 hours I make a million and every month I make 32 so Cash Cards aren't really that necessary for me :p

I never saw buying an in-game "bonus" like a cash card as supporting a company, I saw it more as wasting your money. Honestly, it depends how much you earn in real-life, how much you're playing that particular game and how much you think you'll benefit from making that purchase (time restraint, etc.). If you're happy with it and it's helped you enjoy the game more well congrats to you, seriously....but if I were in your shoes I would've spent it on another game or actual DLC.

Don't let anyone in the thread (just read a few responses so unsure how people are taking it) let you down. It's your money and the option to buy such a thing is there for a reason. :)
