I bought a f**kin Megalodon Kesh Kerd.

 

I couldn't handle having little money in my pocket compared to what I read and hear on the daily. It just...killed me (in a sense of poverty.)

I promised myself since Day 1 of KK's that I wouldn't support R*'s greed; no matter how desperate. IGP's (In game purchases) were bad since day one unless done right. GTAO is no exception.

And I did.

 

Here's the thing: Am I supposed to feel this way? Guilty that I am just pushing a company's greed one step further? Or happy now I'm a little less broke.

 

Also, I know this is a game, and I shouldn't take this serious, but this is my money invested in virtual money for what? A sense of accomplishment? Anyways, have you people supported KK's? And how far did it go? I'm interested to see how some people might say, "I've bought 47 just yesterday" or "I can't. Dad won't let me "

 

EDIT: FYI, I have 14.5 Mil now.

How many hours of entertainment have you received from your initial game purchase and any/all kesh kurd purchases? My point is video games are cheap entertainment. If spending a few bucks more makes it more fun, then it's money well spent. If you have some ethical problem with the whole notion and think its wrong yet still did it, then you're just a hypocrite.

If you bought one, fine. You're supporting R* with a financial contribution for in-game items... you're not doing anything wrong, per se. Just a lot of people don't like the idea of 'pay to win' or how the lure of microtransactions influence developers/publishers to drip-feed content instead of releasing everything up-front for a nice, clean, one-off RRP.

 

I personally don't want to buy Shark Cards and never have. I like putting the time in to grind and earn my in-game money and spend it on items. It doesn't make me "better", "more skilled" or not a "n00b scrub". It's a personal preference. According to the Social Club stats, I've made approx. $30M in GTAO from playing since 2013. I currently have $12M in my character's account and while lots of people around here think that's chump change for peasants, it's been enough for everything i've wanted in the game so far.

 

You may not have the time to invest, or you just really want that golden Luxor, so you pay for it with Shark Cards. No problem.

 

So basically, If you want to buy cash cards, do it. If you don't, dont. It's your choice.

I'd buy one of I was in-game skint. I've discussed it with friends before now and have said as much. Your problem isn't the purchase of a cash card. Your problem is caring what other people think about it, whether that's due to you feeling the need to flaunt it or feeling the need to apologise for it. Only you know the real truth about that though, and it's irrelevant to everyone else.

 

Either way, I seriously doubt anyone gives a flying f*ck. Go enjoy it.

I personally like to earn my money. I am level 103 now and I've only earned 6m over my entire lifetime. With all due respect, it only cheapens your own chatacter not anybody elses. If you feel better for it gameplay wise then let that be how it is. It doesn't hurt anyone.

Nope never bought a cash card and never will TBH.

 

I just grind the P.S heist everyday and that makes me more than enough to not spend real money. I have everything I want in the game and now just basically add millions to my millions lol. I think if you have time to play the game then there really is no need whatsoever to invest in a shark card. I get that some people are inpatient and have to get the latest toys the minute they come out but I'm just not like that thankfully.

 

I was also lucky enough to be awarded 2m by R* when I first started playing so that got me going nicely.

You can get bashed by possibly anyone and everyone by purchasing a cash card, but does that affect you in the slightest? Having people make mean remarks or criticise you for buying shark cards? Not really. I honestly like to keep my balance glitch/mod/shark card-free and earn money legitimately (saved up almost 32mil now. Not bragging since I know of other who have saved up 50mil ++ legit, so I'm poor compared to them.)

 

If I were to tell you that you were pathetic to buy a $100 shark card, how would that affect you? If it makes you feel guilty, then just remember, you already spent the money. You cannot just magically take it back or anything. So don't dwell on it too much. What's done is done. If you're happy that you're not poor anymore, then that's already a good enough reason to have spent the money in the first place.

Dunno why people automatically hate companies for financially focused decisions. Rockstar doesn't make video games for the charity, and in fact, they are easily one of the better AAA companies, and the best I've seen in terms of "microtransaction" models.

 

Bungie is releasing a 20$ microtransaction...for two sets of cosmetic items.
