THIS REQUEST IS FOR PC.

So as I've been playing I've been thinking of some good mods that I would LOVE to have.

- Turn off the "traction control"

You can't even really drift because once you break traction going around a corner all the power is cut from the car so you either do a power slide or completely spin out. These cars are RWD (at least most of them are) so they shouldn't have any problem spinning the rear wheels when the car has broken traction. This is EXTREMELY annoying and, for me, the game would be so much better driving wise if you were able to actually drift around Los Santos.

- Michaels Gate Opens Faster

Like the title states, it would be nice to be able to have the gate opened by the time you drive up to it either coming in towards the house or leaving the house. I hate having to stop and wait for it to open.

Really need FPS camera mod for the inside city train car (subway transport) or the ability to walk inside the train car while running.

In GTA V there doesn't allow to switch the camera when you go by the city train — cinematic mode is activated.

If it is possible, I`d like a mod for high res textures (high or v. high, ideally both to choose from) ONLY for player skins and clothes / weapons, so lower spec PC`s can benefit from decent textures and still keep the VRAM usage low, by only needing to render high textures only in a fraction of what I suspect is the whole game.

Ideally only player skin and clothing textures, nothing else, IF that is possible, that is.

Pretty please.

I'd like to request a Police Helicopter/Helicopter "Nightsun" mod aka the spotlight the NPCs use.

It would be used for

-Illumination of scenes in roleplay scenarios

-Searching for people

-Combing over dark areas

Would request a unlimited space garage mod.

Provide 3D model.20071116-001421-1.jpg

Every car you pick up on street can be stored inside, not necessarily displayed, but requested, similarly to Online Mechanic.

This would be kinda hard (I think) but can we implement a character creator in the native trainer?

Let me explain, I assume the native trainer will allow you to play as different character models, I was wondering if we could add an option to open the GTA Online character creator and let us play as the character we created. I know I could just play as my online avatar but I want to be able to edit them any time I want.

But as I said, this would be hard maybe even impossible. But it would be so awesome to see such a mod.

Hey there, everyone. I'm no programmer at all, so apologies if anything I suggest is outright impossible. Ignore accordingly.

First one, though, may be simple: a mod to make people raise their f*cking hands instead of running like suicidal idiots when you point a gun at them. The animation is in the game, it's used for Trevor's bounty hunting missions. That very same script may be used to get any NPC not only to raise their hands but follow you as a hostage should you tell them to. Trevor does that with bounty targets. Maybe keep a small chance of coming across the occasional moron who tries to run away from you, but mostly NPCs should raise their hands and do as they're told.

Second one may be a tall order, though: the Euphoria physics engine is kind of wasted on Rockstar. It shone briefly with the lasso feature in RED DEAD REDEMPTION, and then no more. So, assuming it's even possible to mess with anything related to it, could a grab mod be feasible? As in, a mod to grab NPCs? They're already scripted to lose their balance and be controlled by Euphoria whenever a force is applied to them. Imagine a script that constrains the player's hand to their neck/collar/hand/whatever, with the holding arm and the NPC controlled by Euphoria from that point on, allowing you to drag them with you. Now let's think more ambitiously: throwing them. Not like in Saints Row, although that could actually be easier because of a strong throw animation already existing in GTA V (for grenades, sticky bombs, etc.), but a strong push or a mild throw, enough to get somebody over a railing or something. Imagine you come across some douche and you want to throw him off Del Pierro pier. Does anybody think that could be done?

Third and last one: complete the stealth system. It's there: the police goes into a search state when they lose sight of you. Strangely, though, nobody else does. This makes stealth useless most of the time. This would require some extra tweaking: making silencers actually silent, for one, since everybody seems to hear your shots when you're outside of a scripted stealth mission. But the gist of what I'm proposing is to apply search states to every hostile NPC using the police script. I'm not sure the police script is sophisticated enough for them to check your last known position -- they may just spread out randomly when they lose sight of you, I don't know. But it's still better than every NPC knowing your exact location from the moment they see you, or even when they don't: kill somebody with a sniper rifle from afar and they'll still know where you are if they see their ally die. And yes, I'm aware that this script could conflict with mission scripting, since a lot of them are designed to have firefights. So that's a problem. But if it could be done without messing with missions, emergent firefights could become far more interesting, since hiding and changing position becomes a viable tactic, as well as surreptiously killing enemies with silencers AFTER combat has started.

Those are the ones I'd like to see most at the moment. Besides Sjaak's amazing Simple Native Trainer, but that's already in the works (Thanks, Sjaak! Looking forward to using it with the video editor).

Got a few ideas, dunno how realistic it would be to implement them though.

1) Weapon audio volume - weapon sfx volume is currently way too low IMO.

2) Police lethality - Cops have insane accuracy and do way too much damage. Some rebalancing would be cool so that we don't get shot to pieces the moment we leave cover, and can actually have fun shootouts.

3) Police chopper respawning - The rate at which they currently respawn is bullsh*t, and incredibly annoying.

4) Friend weapons - If I recall correctly, Lamar doesn't carry a gun when you're hanging out and the cops are after you. Also the other protagonists only seem to use the Combat MG by the end of the game when hanging out, would be

cool to see them use a random variety of weapons.

5) Protagonist outfit changes - I wouldn't mind them constantly changing outfits if we could create a select pool for them to choose from, instead of whatever's in your wardrobe.

6) Self Radio playlists - Someone mentioned elsewhere that it'd be cool to be able to flick through for different Self Radio playlists in the radio selection wheel, like how you flick through weapons in categories.

7) Leave engine running - IV let you either press triangle or hold it to leave the engine on or turn it off. V took this out, so it'd be great to see it put back in.

8) Respawning garage cars - Purchasing vehicles and the modding system in SP is pretty useless when you lose them if they get destroyed. A recreation of the insurance system from online, or just a simple respawning mechanic would be awesome.

9) Wasted length and recording - The wasted screen cuts off too quickly, so you don't get to see much of your death, and recording also cuts off as soon as you die, limiting your machinima possibilities.

10) Aggressive peds - Currently, most peds are pussies. A mod to make them more aggressive when you attack them, or even a riot mod, would be a lot of fun.

11) Ragdolls - Probably the least likely of my ideas to be realised, Rockstar's previous games seemed to have more elaborate Euphoria physics. In V, they feel incredibly toned down, with death animations sometimes looking more like simple havok ragdolls. Just compare how Niko will bounce and roll in IV when bailing out of a car, while Michael will just bump and slider briefly. A mod that makes them more like Max Payne 3 or Red Dead Redemption would probably be my favourite mod of all time.

12) Drunk mode - Related to the above, the drunk mode in IV was a lot funnier, because you could easily trip up and stumble all over the place. By comparison, you have too much control in V, and it's not as fun.

13) NPC spawning - The director mode is cool, but you can only use a single character at a time. Being able to spawn NPCs and have them do certain actions would be invaluable for machinima purposes.

14) Safehouse unlocks - You lose access to certain homes after points in the story, like Franklin's original house and Michael's temporary stay in Trevor's trailer. A mod to let us use these safehouses after the main story would be very welcome.

i really want a reasonable way to store vehicles in SP

1. have the ability to select default vehicle. it really irks me that the game gets to decide what vehicle i should want to drive.

2. the garages have a method for storing "special" vehicles that is currently no longer used (on PS3 all the DLC vehicles could be slected here, dont know why they removed that) i think it would be a great way to add seamless storage of any car you want to add to the list.

i plan on trying to mod a bit, but i doubt i will be able to figure all this out as im not really versed in the GTA (rage?) engine

Just so you know, the three main characters in SP have garages, although you are limited on space and don't have a mechanic.

The police impound will also generally hold the last two vehicles you've driven. It might only be last 2 modified vehicles, and/or it might be the last two you had prior to dying/getting busted with a wanted level.

What I would like to see,

Have the entire garden/driveway of the safe-house secure for leaving cars, seems a bit silly that if you leave a car on mikes drive, it disappears.

Ability to change main character cars. I would like to get rid of mikes tailgater and have a enus super diamond for example.

And maybe the online safe houses in single player.

Been a long time lurker of this place, but I thought I'd chip in some mod ideas once the ability to alter SP game data happens. I am no coder, so I hope these ideas aren't too difficult.

  • Shoot-dodge ability for Michael, ala Max Payne series--particularly Max Payne 3 since Payne himself reacts to diving into walls. This should be (I think?) a matter of taking the animation/script data from Max Payne 3 and inserting it into GTA 5 for Michael's special. It'd be even better if the shoot dodge ability could be bound to a different key so that you could enter bullet time and perform a shoot dodge seperately; again almost exactly like MP3. Obviously performing the dodge would eat a small amount of Michael's special meter. I would love to see this implemented. I was surprised Rockstar themselves never did it, though I guess they ran out of buttons to map for controllers.
  • Realistic vehicle interiors. Example: The Obey 9F is obviously an Audi R8. I would like to see a mod to make the 9F into an actual Audi R8; logos, interior, and all. That'd be wondrous. Probably a huge project to do this, but hey it's an idea.
  • Vehicle mirrors reflect the actual world. Even with the graphics maxed out, the mirrors on vehicles do not reflect the actual world/surroundings of the car, meaning you can't use the rear-view mirror to see the car(s) behind you. Would like to see this changed!

The modders for IV were unbelievably talented and brought so much more fun to the single player aspect. Can't wait to see what you wonderful people do with V!

Note: Might be off topic, but I just want to say that we should try to keep mods focused on offline play. I remember the GTA 4 PC incident where Rockstar Toronto locked down the files for IV with encryption to stop modding so people could play online--though this was later reversed by Rockstar. We should try to have some sort of community agreement not to mess with GTA Online and Rockstar's official servers. It would be bad if they locked us out permanenty.

Hey, just wanted to ask, is there some kind of way to walk in first person? You can only jog and run, no walking in first person which really kills the immersion for me.

Or would some body be able to make a mod for that? I would appreciate it greatly, I'm not sure how hard it would be. It would be amazing honestly.

Any chance facial hair could be replaced? Some of the selections looked better on PS3.

Dude, different barber shops have different haircuts/facial hairs.. The PC's haircuts/facial hairs are NO DIFFERENT to the PS3 version.

Reading comprehension FTW. If you actually bothered to read what I posted, you'd know that I was saying that the exact same facial hair looks worse on PC than on PS3. Are you really trying to say that the goatee in those two images look exactly the same quality-wise?

Ditto with the first suggestion. It'd be nice if the other two would be able to do them as well. Oh, & don't forget Dual Wielding, especially the system of Dual Wielding found in Max Payne 3. :D
