It's a conspiracy r* is confiscating ammunition for jade helm starting this summer.

 

 

 

Jade Helm = military exercise apparently to "capture the human domain" it'll be going on in 15 different states and they highlighted some states red/highly hostile. Crazy stuff going on this summer. Look it up guys. The military will be hiding in plain sight looking at how people trust and socialize.

Yup, I've hit 2 planes using the homing launcher and it says the plane crashed.....and that's it, no money or credit for causing the plane to crash. Sucks

Damn, that's no good. I kept getting the same problem when using missiles on any aircraft to take smugglers planes and helicopters down. I'm a sh*t pilot and since this issue happen I had to half-train myself to use the cannons on aircraft to take these smugglers aircrafts down and since I haven't had any problems with the money from shooting the smugglers down with cannons. I use my Savage or Hydra.

I...assume the buzzard would work but might have to shoot forever at the smugglers aircraft and I am useless at flying so I'm never tried with my buzzard.

 

Edit: Someone in comments mention they used HL missiles. It did the same and never delivered me money from taking the smugglers aircraft down when I used HL but when I used my heavy sniper and from shooting > it exploded the smugglers aircraft and I was delivered the money.

I used the homing launcher, twice, and I got paid. Which kind of makes it easy for me that the plane's AI jst goes around in one spot for a long time.

Its been alright for me, probably because I was using my heavy sniper. Now why on earth was I using my heavy sniper? Im broke and had no rockets.

I've had the same problem happen and i hit the plane twice with the buzzard's rockets and made sure it was on my screen as it crashed into the ground and still got the "smuggler plane has crashed" message and didn't get the cash.

if there are multiple players near it, it will be glitched some times. one time i got the smuggler plane to go under the map and it kept spiraling under the map for like 10 mins before it finally crashed.

It was a couple of months ago but there was a player flying a smuggler plane (xbox one so I imagine no trainer or mod). He had a couple of friends he was circling around so when someone came along to destroy the plane they'd ambush them or shoot them down if they took a jet. In the end I managed to go off radar and swipe off the smugglers wing with a cropduster whilst they were busy doing air acrobatics. Even though the plane was player controled it showed up as a smuggler plane on the radar and it still gave me the money, although they got me with the lazer when I bailed from the crippled crop duster. How do people steel the smuggler plane?

If I'm on the ground I go Heavy Sniper, and get it without fail. Can be quite amusing watching 2 or 3 other players firing off HL rounds as it circles.

 

In the air explosive cannon (until it's destroyed) has always worked for me.

 

Took one down yesterday with a Besra wingtip, again got paid.

Actually I was planning on trying to hijack the smuggler plane, I figured a parachute and a well-timed button hold might be possible if very very unlikely/difficult. It doesn't fly that fast.

Bad luck lol, I've taken out a few on my second account by crashing into them with stolen planes because I couldn't afford the Homing Launcher yet and still got paid every time.

That's a weird bug, hasn't happened to me yet. And yesterday I took two planes down by flying in a Maverick, slamming down on them from above and watching them crash into a mountain. Got paid both times. I would've flown into them with a plane but I was closer to the helipad on a character that doesn't have armed Pegasus vehicles.

It's really f*cking frustrating, isn't it? Just add it to the list of "glitches" and other things that revolve around players losing out on in-game money in some way.

EDIT: And, to actually contribute information to the thread... I have taken down around 40 smuggler planes. I have been going after them on and off since the last update.

 

I hadn't had this problem until this morning when I woke up to play, around 7:00AM EST. The past 4 planes I have taken down I haven't gotten the cash. (I know according to some it could have been a lot more at this point). I have used a buzzard for every single smuggler plane.

I've personally never had a problem with not getting money from taking them down. I have however had planes spawn, I get the message that one has appeared and see it disappear again within 10 seconds because it got away.... 10 seconds by that point I had barely had time to call pegasus.

  Before troubleshooting, please check the following:

  1. Turn the console off and on.

  2. Unplug all power cords and accessories, and then plug them back in firmly. Make sure all connections are secure.

  3. Update your console software.

  Clearing the Game Data Utility:

  1. In the XMB home menu, go to (Game) > [Game Data Utility].

  Important: Make sure you select [Game Data Utility]. Do NOT select [saved Data Utility], as this will delete all of your saved games files.

  2. Highlight the game data utility file (i.e., name of a particular game you have been playing) you wish to delete.

  3. Press the Triangle button and select [Delete].

  4. Highlight "Yes" and press the X button to confirm the deletion.

  5. A message indicating the file is being deleted will appear.

  6. A "Delete completed." message will appear once the file has been successfully deleted.

  7. Once all of the files have been deleted, go back to the XMB home menu.

  8. Reboot the game.

  If this is still happening, let us know. We will be glad to assist you.

Well I should say missed out on. I completed the award with both my charachters. So I shot down atleast 100, but in that time I estimate 40-50 have crashed..So that dont even include money lost on ammo for the ones that crashed or escaped.

I think I had the best luck trying to get ahead of the plane then trying to shoot it down with the homing missle. But even then it sometimes takes 2 shots and many times after the first shot you lose the lock and the cash.

 

@joel. Ive had a ticket open for over a month, its been escalated 4 times now, still stuck dealing with tier 1 morons lol ..so far on that single ticket they have ignored me, lied to me, given me false information, changed my title 2 times(now my title has nothing to do with my actual issue lol) and Iv e had about 7 different people respond.

I have about a 10-15% failure rate where they either disappear far faster than they should, crash on their own without me attacking it, or when I shoot it down but it gets counted as a self-crash.

 

Every time it messes up it is a plane. Smuggler helicopters never fail for me, but they only make up 20% of the smuggler aircraft.

 

The trick to reducing the third failure is to make sure to keep the target visible in your camera prospective from when your weapon connects until it hits the ground.

Try doing it in an invite only session. It's what I've been doing and I can crash into them with a frogger until they crash and still get the money.

For the record, I play on PS3 and most of the time I'm in invite only sessions. I don't go public unless I'm feeling violent or can't be bothered to go back to SP and then online again.

 

The posters experiencing this bugs, what's your platform and what kind of sessions do you mostly play in?
