Someone quoted me in the Horizon Zero Dawn thread but I wasn't notified of the quote at all. It never showed up in my notifications. Has anyone else reported on not getting a notification when they are quoted also?

Are you following the topic? You don't get notified if you are, you just get notified for someone replying.

As far as I know, I didn't select the following box when I typed my post in that thread. I did get notified when you quoted me though. So I don't know why I never got notified for the quote there.

For the two years that I've been here, I've seen countless people ask "Why did <insert person's name here> get banned?" and I was wondering if when people ask that, does that annoy the moderators and admins here?

It's natural to be curious about things like that so it doesn't annoy us when people ask. It does get rather tedious when people ask without reading first to see if the question was already answered, though.

On the topic of why X got banned, I remember before the big forum update you could check a banned member's profile and be able to go through their posts and you could probably see what they did to get banned, but now you can't see the profiles of banned members and that's a bit unfortunate.

Are Verbal Commendations still handed out after the forum update from 2013? I believe it's mostly medals. I could be wrong though. The only entries I've seen in Member Log are Group Changes and warnings, so far.

Yes. Members can still get verbal commendations, but they're referred to "contribution" awards and appear in the forum awards section of your profile rather than the log like it used to be.

Thanks for clearing that up. Always thought that the Contributon Awards were like any other Commendation.

If it's nudity, or has a lot of gore, don't use it. Oh, anything that promotes nazism, racism, homophobia, you get the idea. I always thought that no one would be dumb enough to do the latter, but I thought wrong.

Because they removed the ability to view banned profiles with the software updates.

Profiles don't really tell us anything. Just use the search function by clicking the cog and searching by author, then tick "display as posts" if you want to see recent posts.

I am getting "500 Internal Server Error" while editing Media in my profile. Wonder if its an issue with forums from last few days or something. A few days ago it was normal.

 

Edit: Like I am able to open "Edit my Profile" but when I hit Finish and Save it redirects me to that error. Also I haven't tested if other edits in profile are working fine.

There seems to be some server errors from this morning that may be affecting things; email notifications may be borked and it seems like the online user list has frozen in time. I've asked Tank to take a look at the hamsters, but it might take a while to refresh the server but it'll be all working as normal again soon.

It's ok. I have been pretending I'm a ghost haunting the forum. I was going to post ghosty oooooo's in random threads, I didn't since it seemed like a fast track to a temp ban.
