How could I edit the topic tags of my groups topic in the Crews & Gangs section? When I go to edit the main post there's no option for it.. at least that's what the sleep deprived side of me sees

I believe you do that using the Full Editor. You might try messaging one of the Staff and get it done. Edited January 7, 2017 by Arrow

It should be here when editing the OP using the full editor. If it isn't, it may be a permissions issue that I'll have to look into. Otherwise let us know what you want changed.

I swear I've maybe heard of this before (Can't remember which is why I'm asking)

 

But let's say you close a topic because there's an already existing one for that topic, how do you folks move all the replies or merge them with the other topic without deleting them? I swear I've seen a case on here before where a topic was closed and a mod or Admin on here moved all the replies to the existing thread. How do you do that or how does it work really?

Don't know if this has been asked before, but can you activate some sort of notification when someone replies to a post you've made?

If you mean someone quoting your post, then if you go to your settings you can check the box next to "Notify me when someone quotes my posts (and I'm not already following)"

Yes, staff can do that. We can see tick boxes next to the topics; we tick the boxes of the threads we want to merge and a drop down box appears. We select 'Merge' from the drop down options and the forum merges the two topics, arranging all the posts in the topics into chronological order. If we wish, we can rename the final topic title.

 

For example "Snow Pictures Thread" could be merged with "Snow Discussion Thread" and the final merged topic would be re-named "Snow Pictures & Discussion Thread".

 

 

 

If we want to merge topics from different forums, we select the 'parent topic' and using a moderation tool, enter the url of the topic we wish to merge into it. Again, all the posts are arranged in time order.

The rules here state it has to be for legit reasons, whatever that may be. I know when I was an admin for a forum I'd go crazy deleting multiple accounts and let them keep only the newest one they created. I guess that's what happens when you ignore their name change request

Yeah, don't do that. Dupes are bannable and annoying for staff.

Part of changing your name is accepting you've let go of your old one. If you're not willing to lose the right to change back in the future, you shouldn't change.

 

I feel like in another ten years, there'll be counselling courses and therapy available for people who have lost a username they had attachment to.

No, they only get notified if you submit the post. If you back out before replying, the notification is not sent.

Wouldn't it make more sense for Chinatown Wars to be within the Top-Down games section?

I think it's to do with eras, more than it is do with how the games are seen. CW is top-down to a degree but there's isometric elements in there. Plus, when you mention "top-down GTA" you think of the first titles, not necessarily the one for DS. IV and V were 3D, but we don't call those games 3D.

Is it just me, or is "h-u-n-t-e-r" being changed to "thomas the tank engine"?

 

i.e. right here for example. Even though the guy's name is "h-u-n-t-e-r", it shows up in quotes as "thomas the tank engine".
