Looking foward to this and I'm probably the only one who has nothing to complain about it. Can't wait to see the new clothes too!

You're not the only one :) The only thing that's bugging me though is not knowing if the T20 is a Super or Sports car :panic:

Am I the only one that loves it? Yeah it's going to be overpriced so I probably won't buy the progen but I'd rather have the cars overpriced than the dlc itself. At least it's free

What exactly is it that you think is free?

The extra content does not require payment does it not?

If micro transactions pay for dlc then the dlc is not free, also there is zero actual content beyond the new vehicles that offer no new gameplay, therefore nothing is there for free...it all needs to be bought...either by real money or time (money)

LOL WUT

Shark cards help R* make extra money (all games do micro transactions now) so that they can keep DLC content free of charge and prevent the community from splitting up. When was the last time you had to pay $10-15 for new content?

Sure, we're getting stuff that we can buy and no new jobs, but do we have to pay real world money for any of it? No. Nobody has a gun to your head forcing you to continue playing this game if you're so upset about it.

You are actually agreeing with the person you quoted. To use an analogy, if the previous poster is correct and Shark Card sales (in effect) fund the 'free' updates, then you could think of it like your parent buying you a McDonalds. It's not that McDonalds are providing you with a free meal, your parents are, as they are paying for it. Now replace McDonald's with 'Rockstar' and 'your parents' with 'Shark Card purchasers'.

The second point is that updates that consist wholly of items purchasable for GTA dollars are not free in any sense, as they are either payed for by Shark Cards, or paid for by your time spent on missions. This seems pretty hard to argue with, as we do not have infinite GTA$ so there is an associated cost in the time taken to earn the GTA$. If you need an analogy, it would be like your parents saying that the McDonalds they buy you is free, but you have to wash the dishes for a week to earn it.

While I personally have no problem with the Shark Card model that Rockstar have chosen (and I have, in fact, purchased Shark Cards from time to time) the whole "we can't complain cos it's FREE" argument is deeply flawed, both theoretically and practically. We are customers of Rockstar, and it is in all our interest (including Rockstar!) to make our feeling clear on what would give us the best game possible. If people believe that these car/clothes/weapon updates provide less entertainment than other types of update, then it's important to make that clear and push for that from the developers. I say this as someone who has worked in game development - devs care about what their customers want. There is a prevalent and pernicious attitude in these forums that it is somehow "entitled" or "ungrateful" to express disappointment in updates. This attitude does not help us as consumers, or Rockstar as developers taking their first major steps into a massive openworld online game,

So let's drop the childish and counter-productive sniping at each other and make reasoned, well thought-out arguments for and against the content of the updates.

There is nothing to complain about really, we are not entitled to getting free DLC, and even when they're out, we don't HAVE to buy any of the things that are considered crap.

Much more interested in the cars this time around but geez, game's really needing some more interactive elements in free roam.

Chino looks perty cool.

Speeder mkII?

And I can already see the anal cramps over that new "pistol" being OP.

Its no different to the Musket. I personally like it.

Been away from GTA for a bit thanks to The Crew, but this got me back into the game. I cannot wait for the Brawler. Finally, a proper rally fighter in GTA. I'm honestly not too interested in the T20, as I've already got the Osiris. The Coquette Blackfin and Chino are definite must-haves. Sold my Virgo on my main character, as I already had one on my 2nd character. Definitely excited for this. :)

Hair styles , long hair ?

This would be the best part of the update if they have added it. We've only been waiting since the launch of GTA Online.

People keep saying these things are DLC... ummm no they are not they are mandatory updates. DLC means you have a choice to purchase and download. I have yet to see a game that requires you download all the dlc even if you dont buy it

Dude, the whole point is that we don't have to pay extra money to download new content, then also 'pay' with our time to afford it in-game. It is technically free as it is much more optional to pay for shark cards which are a quick fix, rather than having to pay for the DLC/Update just to check out new content.

If you get new content at no charge and don't like it, then you still aren't paying for anything because you're not forced to buy any items from the new content. Shark cards are in no way keeping anyone from enjoying the game or separating players from enjoying new content with friends who just bought it, the way paid DLC would separate people.

like the previous updates, I'll try and buy what I want, use it a little bit and then close the console and hope the new update has more gameplay oriented content. Also we really need a fourth garage.

My point is you dont usually call updates to a game such as World of Tanks DLC. Yes technically they are content updates (new tanks and maps/ gamemodes) Simply an update to the game. In GTA the updates update both SP and Online. Heists is an exception which in all actuality was a DLC

actual_1435672873.jpgLooks interesting, I wonder if the Progen T20 will already become the osiris killer.

Wow, it seems a modder was ahead of the game WEEKS in advance on this one:

That modded adder was the first thing I thought about when I saw the brawler, it's quite an old picture if I am not wrong.

Whats that you say? You have to play a game to unlock content? The Nerve of Rockstar.

"Waaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!! Mommy, Rockstar wants me to play the game to achieve enough credits to unlock this cool car. Waaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!"

People keep saying these things are DLC... ummm no they are not they are mandatory updates. DLC means you have a choice to purchase and download. I have yet to see a game that requires you download all the dlc even if you dont buy it

It doesnt matter if its mandatory or optional. It is still DLC. It is Downloadable content.

  1. "Downloadable content (DLC) is additional content created for a released video game. It is distributed through the Internet by the game's official publisher or other third party content producers."

Yep...we totally needed yet another model of Coquette...
I must say though...that new super looks sexy. Probably a huge waste of cash just like the Osiris though.
