A modded Xbox is pretty cheap I think. You only need a LAN cable plus router (and FileZilla) to transfer files.

Chain Game Announcement!

Additional Platform and Regional Support for Chain Game Round 100 Starter Saves
I hope that all members of the community are well and enjoying the Chain Game Rounds that have been available to participate in these last few months. We mentioned during the last Chain Game Announcement and Round 100 of the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game that we are continuing to support the development of the Round 100 Starter Save, bringing the features put together by our community to more platforms and regions.

There are currently Starter Saves available on PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox and Android, and I'm excited to announce the release of two more Starter Saves today:

  • PlayStation 2 - Australian Region
  • iOS

The Round 100 Starter Save User Guide has been updated to reflect the addition of the new Starter Saves available for the PlayStation 2 Australian Region and iOS, with new sections added to detail installation instructions for the new Starter Saves for users who wish to download and play them. The process for installing the iOS Save File is dependant on the version of operating system you are running on your device. A device running iOS 7 and older will be able to use a file browsing application to move the downloaded Starter Save into the "Documents" folder under the "GTA3" Directory, but devices that are running iOS 8 and newer will require a jailbroken device in order to access this directory.

With the addition of the iOS Platform, the Round 100 Starter Save is now available on almost all platforms that Grand Theft Auto III has been released on. We will be continuing to bring the Starter Save to further regions that we haven't covered with the current set of Starter Saves and users who find that there isn't a save that will work on their version of the game are welcome to contact the Chain Game Staff, and we can work together to provide a version that you'll be able to use.

Special Thanks to @thehambone for creating and testing the iOS Starter Save as well as providing installation instructions for the Round 100 Starter Save User Guide! :)

All Round 100 Starter Saves and the Round 100 Starter Save User Guide are available in the Round 100 Starter Saves Folder on Google Drive. Once again we hope that anyone who wishes to try them out enjoys them!

Thanks once again to all members of the community for your continued support of the Chain Game, and I hope you all have a great week!

Chain Game Announcement!

A New Year
Happy New Year! I'd like to wish all members of the community a great day and hope that you all enjoyed yourselves over the holiday period!

2019 was a great year for the Chain Game and I'd like to start by thanking everyone who made that possible. Whether you were a regular player, a contributor behind the scenes, or whether you just happened to stop by and take a turn one round, your contributions allowed us to keep progressing and reach where we're at today. Throughout the year all 4 Chain Games launched 35 rounds between them, with 9 trips to GTA III's Liberty City, 11 trips to Vice City, 14 trips to San Andreas and 1 trip to GTA IV's Liberty City. There were 42 unique players who participated across all of these rounds. We concluded the year for the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game with a Generated Vehicles Round, which also happened to be a Starter Save Round. As I mentioned in the Opening Posts of the round, I believe that this was the first ever Starter Save Round to have a unique set of Generated Vehicles that weren't carried over from a previous Generated Vehicle Round. I've always personally enjoyed Generated Vehicle Rounds, both as a player being able to search for the hidden vehicles around the city, and also as the creator of the Starter Save and being able to watch members of the community have fun searching for the vehicles that I've hidden. I find it particularly fun to watch streams during these rounds as many will know, and often is the case that I watch players walk right past a vehicle location without looking in just the right direction for the vehicle to be visible! It made me really happy to see so many players get involved in the round and enjoy the Vehicle Hunt, and I really appreciate some of the nice comments I've had about the round since it ended too. It seemed to be one of the fastest rounds of the year, and also became the 3rd fastest Starter Save Round, taking just 1 day, 10 hours and 5 minutes to reach the final percentage of 57.79%!

We've had many other great moments and achievements throughout the year too. There were 2 brand new players who joined the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game this year who have stayed with us and become regular players. We also released versions of the Round 100 Starter Save for PlayStation 3, Xbox, iOS, and for the Australian and Japanese PlayStation 2 Regions. I've also had the opportunity to work on a great amount of plans for the Chain Game, some which have already appeared throughout the year like the latest round and the updates made to the Chain Game Opening Posts and Graphics, and some that are to be announced throughout this new year.

It's going to be a special year for the Chain Game and the community in many ways, and I'm really looking forward to announcing many of the plans that have been worked on behind the scenes in recent months. 2020 will also mark 10 years since the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game first launched back in October 2010. It's incredible to think that what started out as a simple idea could grow into the big community of players that we have today, and I doubt there was anyone at the time who would have expected we'd still be here 10 years later having celebrated 100 rounds of the game with over 100 members of the community!

Recently I've been contacting many of you for feedback on ideas that we have for the Chain Game, which will be discussed in a further announcement in the coming weeks, and it has been really great to hear all of your ideas and opinions in response to the game. It's important to me that the community is kept at the forefront of everything that we do in the Chain Game, even when some of the ideas that I request feedback for seem fairly minor. The community is what makes the Chain Game so special and is why we're able to still be here and do so well after all of these years. Thank you all for your continued participation and support, and I hope to see many of you join in throughout 2020!

Chain Game Contribution Spotlight: thehambone
I’d like to take a moment to talk about a few members of the community that have made a real difference to the game over the years.

thehambone has been a member of the community since he first joined the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game in Round 27, taking his first turn on 26th February 2014, which will soon be 6 years ago! He has since become a regular player that has participated in 61 different rounds of the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game and has taken 188 turns, as well as also having played in the GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto IV Chain Games.

In addition to the regular turns that thehambone has taken, he has always been willing to contribute to the game behind the scenes. He has regularly provided high quality feedback on ideas and been involved with important discussions about the Chain Game, has helped out with save files that have been customised for special rounds including the multiple platform save files that we have created for Round 100, and has created tools such as the Pigeon Locator for GTA IV that have been of use to players including myself throughout the rounds of the game.

I’d like to thank thehambone for all he has done for the Chain Game over the years and officially announce that today, he joins the Chain Game Staff of the Grand Theft Auto III, GTA Vice City and Grand Theft Auto IV Chain Games as “Chain Game Assistant Chief”!

Chain Game Contribution Spotlight: Parik
Parik has been a member of the community since he first joined the GTA Vice City Chain Game in Round 2, taking his first turn on 3rd November 2015, over 4 years ago! He joined the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game in Round 80, taking his first turn on 2nd January 2018, and has since become a regular player across all Chain Games. In the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game alone, he has participated in 34 rounds and taken 171 turns!

In addition to the contributions he has made during the rounds themselves, Parik has also always been willing to contribute to the game behind the scenes. He has regularly provided high quality feedback on ideas, has updated lists in Chain Game Rounds, and has created multiple tools that have been a great benefit to the running of the Chain Game and have allowed for some of the plans that we have had over the years to become a reality.

I'm incredibly thankful of Parik's contributions to the Chain Game over the years, and today he also joins the Chain Game Staff of the Grand Theft Auto III, GTA Vice City and Grand Theft Auto IV Chain Games as “Chain Game Assistant Chief”!

Chain Game Contribution Spotlight: SorveteQuente
SorveteQuente has been a member of the community since he first joined the GTA San Andreas Chain Game in Round 123, taking his first turn on 2nd June 2018, more than 18 months ago! He joined the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game in Round 89, taking his first turn on 25th June 2018, and has since become a regular player across all Chain Games. In the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game, he has participated in 24 rounds and taken 292 turns!

He has also regularly provided high quality feedback on ideas and has regularly offered help towards the Chain Game which has always been appreciated, such as updating several lists in rounds of all of the Chain Games in which he has always done a great job.

SorveteQuente is a great member of the community and I am grateful for all of the help that he has given to the game. Today, he will also join the Chain Game Staff of the Grand Theft Auto III, GTA Vice City and Grand Theft Auto IV Chain Games as “Chain Game Assistant Chief”!

A New Team
These three members of the community have made a real difference to the Chain Game over the years and I am extremely thankful of all they have done and continue to do for the game and our community. I’m sure that all members of the community would agree that they are all a pleasure to have around, and will join me in congratulating them on joining the Chain Game Staff, where I know that they will all do a great job and become a part of many of the plans that are to come for the Chain Game.

Once again, I’d like to wish all members of the community a very happy new year, and I hope that 2020 will bring a lot of great things to all of you. Thank for you all for continuing to participate and support the Chain Game!

I'll take a turn.

Mission: The Getaway
Link: Click!
Progress: 63.64%
Notes:
- Collected all hidden packages on Staunton Island except for the one Shoreside Bridge.

@NileshKumar, the one you picked up was next to the church, right next to the rampage you would have completed. ;)

Hidden package sitrep,

x2 remain in Portland, the one on the rocks and the one in the subway

x1 remain on Staunton Island, the one on Shoreside Bridge

x2 collected in Shoreside Vale, one near firetruck at the airport and the one behind the safehouse.

I don't think it is really necessary to mention which package is taken because SnP provides a complete collectible map of remaining packages

It is necessary. Both for the statistics we collect that are used to provide information on Chain Game Records and Trivia, and in a case where a checklist needs to be recreated for a round in the future after the save has expired from GTASnP.com :^:

turn

Got some urgent work but I couldn't turn empty so I made a cutscene turn

Mission Cutscene: Love's Disappearance
Link: Click Me!:p
Completion %:
98.05%

This mission is an exception to the named Mission rule as it's a cutscene and needs to be completed along with a valid named mission, making this invalid turn. @GTAKid667 please correct me if i'm wrong.

A player is not required to complete a named mission in a turn, as stated in the rules:

Quote

You are only allowed to complete One Named Mission during the completion of your Chain Game Turn, or you are free not to complete any if you decide that you do not want to.

Therefore NileshKumar's turn is still valid.

I will when I have a turn. :) Meanwhile, feel free to edit yours if another turn hasn't been taken.
