Sorry for double posting.

 

 

 

lol232, aka Dennis, you make this Chain Game way too fast! Don't do 1/4th of the game in one turn. Other players would also like to do side-missions.

I did the same mistake in VC Chain Game, where I like lol232 did almost half of the game in one turn. But later it turned out it wasn't fun at all, because there was nothing else to do besides named missions.

I know you want Chain Game to be fast, but I don't want to turn it into "lol232's chance of showing how good GTAIII player he is, by doing as much sh*t in 3 hours as he can".

Man, I've missed 2012 :lol:

PREPARE FOR ANGRY RANT.

 

So, this turn. Thissss turn. It took nearly two hours, and all I did was a mission and a bit of Vigilante? Well, it's more complicated than that, you see. I finished off Staunton firefighting and Shoreside vigilante too. Or did I? Well, it's a complicated scenario. I saved after doing Staunton Vigilante, then did Staunton Firefighting before going to Shoreside and saving again in a separate slot (which I learned to do after the incident with the rampages, or else things could've been even worse). Then I spent who knows how long trying to do Shoreside, in which I got busted mid-way through my first attempt AND THEN KILLED BY THE COPS FEET FROM THE SAFEHOUSE AFTER COMPLETING VIGILANTE ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT. So that was all fantastic. Fabulous. Tremendous. Took ages. And I WAS SO CLOSEEEEEEE. So obviously I was already pretty bloody annoyed, being so damn close, and was not sure I really wanted to try it AGAIN. So I went to angrily reload the save. I was annoyed, you see, the mouse was moving fast. And I went to load the save. And I selected it.

 

"File successfully deleted."

 

That delete save function sure is great. I do love HOW IT'S SO EASY TO SELECT AND HOW IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE LOADING A SAVE AND HOW THERE'S NO 'ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DELETE THIS' BEFORE YOU DELETE IT. ISN'T GTA GREAT I SURE DO LOVE GTA.

 

Anyway, I'm done now. I'm going to sleep now and dream of me not being killed by the cops feet from the safehouse and everything going smoothly and everyone being happy. Then I'll wake up and wonder why I typed this out. Then I'll remember and get angry again. So let this serve as a pre-cautionary tale for everyone ever who plays GTA or will play GTA or ever could play GTA for the rest of time. The world is terrible, there is no hope, and so on. Bahdasdhbfpawoedsfiboerdfjgaqwasdl

 

And it may go without saying, but I'm not doing Vigilante or Firefighter this round now.

Despite many little setbacks that could've easily been prevented :p we've successfully completed the new fastest GTA III CG round in a little over a day! (Waiting for GTAKid to post the official time).

Next up, complete a round in under 24 hours!

Chain Game Announcement!

We're breaking out of the Police Convoy and roaming the crime filled streets of Liberty City in our Prison Overalls completing Side Missions once again, immediately after the explosion at the Callahan Bridge!

The next round of the GTA III Chain Game will be a Starter Save Round and for those of you unfamiliar with what this is, then it's where we attempt to complete all Side Missions at the beginning of the game without any of the Story Missions being completed.

I'd like to remind all of the players once again that there are several important Rule Differences between a Starter Save Round and a normal 100% Round of the game and while we have recently completed a Starter Save Round, I still believe it'll be beneficial to bring these changes to your attention so that there are no issues during the round.

No Story Missions: The Main Difference between a Starter Save Round and a 100% Completion Round is that we are attempting to create a save that has all of the Side Missions Complete at the beginning of the game, meaning that no player should complete a Single Storyline Mission during the round. This is the most important rule of the game and is often broken in these rounds due to players not reading the rules carefully or being aware of the differences in the Starter Save Rounds.

'Give Me Liberty' Mission Trigger: The Starter Save we will be using will not yet have the opening missions of the game, 'Give Me Liberty' and 'Luigi's Girls', complete. Claude will still be wearing his Prison Overalls, as well as the Callahan Bridge still containing the wreckage from the bomb in the opening intro.

This mission can be triggered from an invisible marker however, but no player should activate the mission as we are not attempting any Story Missions in this round. There will be a screenshot that my questionable art skills, no where near the level of @oscareczek's artistic excellence, edited in Paint in the opening posts to let you all know where this is, so that you can plan you're route around it. This trigger exists both above and below the bridge, but like a normal mission marker can only be triggered on foot.

One Named Side Mission: Unlike the regular rounds where players are free to do as many Side Missions as they wish, there is a slight rule change for the Starter Save Rounds that is in place to ensure the round is not over in only one or two turns. This is the One Named Side Mission rule where during your turn, you are only able to complete one of the following:
  • "Patriot Playground"
  • "A Ride In The Park"
  • "Gripped!"
  • "Multistorey Mayhem"
  • "Mafia Massacre"
  • "Diablo Destruction"
  • "Casino Calamity"
  • "Rumpo Rampage"
You are still free to do as many of the other Side Missions as you choose, either with or without one of the above.

Reduced Turn Time Limit: You are only allowed TWO HOURS to complete your turn, which is one hour less than a normal round of the game. This is because of the reduced amount of content in the game, which if turns in this round were three hours, would allow for one player to do an unfair amount of the game themselves. The Chain Game is all about playing as a team, as we have been doing so well recently!

Outside of the Starter Save Rounds, I also want to take this time to address other Chain Game Related News. Firstly, I'd like to congratulate all of the players on the fantastic achievement of the Fastest Ever Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game Round with a super quick time of just 1 Day, 1 Hour and 20 Minutes beating the previous record which was set recently by almost 5 Hours! The turnout of players was absolutely amazing and I could not believe how close we made it to a 24 Hour Round! We couldn't have done it without you all, so thank you all for taking the time and some of you even depriving yourself of sleep to keep the game moving at speed!

We're also internally reviewing the current Opening Posts and Rules of the Chain Game and are looking for any suggestions you may have towards the current rules of the game, ideas for how we could better present the information in the Opening Posts to make them clearer to all players and general feedback on the look of the game. We want to make the game as clear as possible and as easy to understand as we can, so player feedback is very much appreciated at any time. We've also reached a total of 10,000 Downloads of our 100% Save File Collection over on GTAGarage!

And I've also reached a total of 500 Valid Chain Game Turns, becoming the first player in the GTA III Chain Game to do so! As with previous milestones I've reached, you can expect some FANTASTIC VEHICLES in your garages to celebrate!!

What do you mean by a ghost car? Do you mean putting a car in the garage for the next player to use?

 

 

As with previous milestones I've reached, you can expect some FANTASTIC VEHICLES in your garages to celebrate!!

No, all three Safehouses are unlocked in the Save File and you should be able to save in them as you normally would. The only difference is you can't get to other islands without using any methods that may include glitching or Ghost Vehicles (or the Dodo, once delivered to the Portland Import/Export Garage)

If you wanna save the game before the first mission, you have to make a ghost car (crusher glitch) because door is locked.

Thanks for pointing this out, it's a mistake in the post. It was corrected in the Regular Round Opening Posts a while ago but the Starter Save Rounds use different code templates. I'll get this corrected :)

If you're going to be collecting Hidden Packages, you should really mention which ones you are collecting. This will help the rest of us know which ones are still left to find, and make it so that we don't miss any at the end! :)
