I hate to be nitpicky, but did you ever finish your turn, Th3MaN1? It's been more than three hours.

Son of a bitch.

This is what happens when I play in the middle of the night.

My bad, I apologize.

There hasn't been any more GTA III Save File uploads to GTASnP.com since TubewayArmy's turn, so it's safe to assume @kewun's turn is invalid.

I recorded myself playing in my last turn. I did a recording for my turn in the Vice City Chain Game as well but I accidentally pressed a hotkey and stopped the recording about halfway through lol.

You didn't need to blow up the fence when collecting the 82th package (25:00). There is a "hole" at the end of the fence and you can freely enter :D

Btw you should disable the FPS monitoring while recording.

Also can you tell me the name of the Hard Trance tune at 45:00 ?

I think I knew that but I forgot. I know all the packages locations by heart but I tend to forget some of the details if I don't play for a while. The frame rate monitoring is something I've started doing compulsively ever since I bought my gaming PC. I'm monitoring how games perform and as you might have noticed, III is not perfectly optimized on PC (or on any other platform for that matter, except PS4 maybe) since I get 2-3 FPS drops sometimes and this has nothing to do with the fact that I'm recording.

It's a song by Edzes (demoscene musician) that you can download for free here: https://soundcloud.com/edzes/edzes-remember-this-day

It is disabled or rather I was showing the counter on purpose. I'm not recording with Fraps (which doesn't allow you to record with the overlay by the way). I'm recording with OBS.

Edit: My other turn (which was declared invalid but I am currently investigating the cause).

My turn

your save file seems to be corrupted so I will use the one before

Damn. It's not the script file that's doing this. It might be something in default.ide (custom wheels or something). I have no idea. This means I can't play anymore. Edited by Kristian.

Nah, I save my Baseball Bat for Th3MaN1's Cheetah. I'd never use such a weapon on an Idaho.

The Idaho is a useful vehicle. It was the one vehicle I knew I could rely on for today's mission!

There's plenty more Idaho's where that one came from ;)

The Idaho served me well once again today, turns out it's the perfect bait vehicle!

Can anyone name all the time restricted missions in III, VC, and SA? Sorry, I couldn't find any other appropriate place to ask this. I'm thinking of playing with a real time mod for each of these games, one that either syncs your computer's time to the game or simply one that makes the game's clock run like a real clock. Doing this will make some missions doable only at a certain point during the day (in real life). I can't remember all of these missions from memory. Maybe there are lists somewhere for each game.

Chain Game Announcement!

Happy New Year! I hope that you are all well and have had a fantastic Christmas. I’m pleased to see that the activity of the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game has continued to be improving over the recent rounds. With several of our most active players being inactive due to real life commitments and other interests, it’s great to see that the Chain Game has still managed to be completed with a decent amount of activity so well done to everyone who has played over the last few rounds in keeping up the good work!

There have been some changes to the Chain Game over the last few weeks and some that are to be made within the next few weeks of which I would like to discuss in this announcement. Starting with some minor changes, the Chain Game Design has once again been tweaked to include a number of fixes and enhancements to the descriptions throughout the posts to make them clearer to the players both existing and new. One rule in particular which has caused much confusion over the six years the Chain Game has been running is the Four Hour Wait Rule which as well as making clearer in the Chain Game Design from the next round onwards, I thought it would also be beneficial to clear up exactly what the rule is here so that any confused players can hopefully understand more clearly. The Four Hour Wait Rule is that if four or more hours pass since the most recently completed turn of the game, anyone can take a turn and any wait rule that is currently in effect, such as the Two Turn Wait Rule, is therefore reset for all players of the game. In a scenario where Player A has taken a turn followed by Player B and then four hours pass, Player A is therefore eligible to take another turn even though they did not take the previous turn and Two Turns have not been completed since because four hours have passed at some stage since their last turn. It can be confusing, because often players misinterpret the way it is written in the rules in that only the latest player can take a turn after four hours or that because two turns have not passed, the player is unable to take another turn. Hopefully this clears it up if you are unsure and if you have any other questions regarding this rule or another, feel free to ask here in the lounge or send me a PM.

Along with the minor descriptive changes, the updates to the Chain Game Design also mark the long-awaited completion of the Liberty Tree Emergency News Articles which can be found in the opening post of the Chain Game Round Topics. Since their introduction when the current Chain Game Design was first made, only the first and, more recently, fourth articles were completed and updated into the opening posts. As of now, all four Liberty Tree Articles will be available in the opening posts at different stages throughout the round. The first article is available from the beginning of the game, the second once Staunton Island is unlocked, the third once Shoreside Vale is unlocked and the fourth after the completion of ‘The Exchange’. While these four are the main emergency news articles throughout each round, along the way there may be a few Special Editions to keep an eye out for! I’d like to thank @thehambone for giving suggestions and feedback during the recompletion of the articles as well as all of the members I had requested feedback when the articles were first being made!

If you have any suggestions to make about the Chain Game Design however big or small they be, feel free to get in touch with us by sending any of the Chain Game Staff a PM or by making a post here. We'd very much appreciate any feedback so that we are able to continue making improvements to the Chain Game for the benefit of you as players as well as the new players who may join in the future. Aside from the Chain Game Design, there are also several additional changes to the Chain Game being made which will be announced within the next few weeks!

Finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank two players of the Chain Game who over time have dedicated a lot to the game and have continued to be active over a long period of time both in turn taking and behind the scenes, contributing to the workload that is required to keep the Chain Game running and offering their own feedback and suggestions to make the game as good as it can possibly be.

The first of these members is @TubewayArmy who I would also like to officially announce as the new Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game Assistant Chief! TubewayArmy is already the Assistant Chief of the Vice City Chain Game and having proven himself there, will be a great member of the Chain Game staff here as well, which is something he has already been doing as this change has been in effect for a short while already. TubewayArmy's dedication to the Chain Game is truly admirable and it was an easy decision to offer him this position in the staff. Within the last few months alone, TubewayArmy has been making consistently active turns in the Chain Game Rounds keeping the games at a comfortable activity level and has kindly contributed feedback, ideas and suggestions behind the scenes. TubewayArmy has also been a big help in some major upcoming changes to the Chain Game Index for both the GTA III and Vice City Chain Games, spending a lot of his own time working hard to help with the very large amount of work that has been put into the changes and making them much easier to complete. It is unlikely that the amount of work it had taken to complete these updates would have been possible without his help and I am very grateful for the help he has continued to give. I am sure you will all agree that this is a very well deserved position - Congratulations!

The other member who I'd like thank is @Th3MaN1 who similarly has been extremely dedicated to the Chain Game over the years having been a player for over 4 Years and has also been part of the Chain Game Staff as Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game Assistant Chief for a long period of time until he made the decision to leave in late 2013. As Assistant Chief, Th3MaN1 would also help the game by taking up the role of Temporary Chief and updating several of the Chain Game Lists in the absence of Arsen Vitiuk. He also helped to ensure that the game was running smoothly and worked hard to make the game what it is today before many of today's players were even around on GTAForums let alone the Chain Game! Th3MaN1 still regularly takes turns in the Chain Game but makes a bigger impact to the game behind the scenes where he regularly helps to keep the game clean, ensure that none of the rules have been broken and regularly give honest feedback to ideas that the Chain Game Staff has as well as regularly giving his own ideas and suggestions which helps us to improve the Chain Game.

Both TubewayArmy and Th3MaN1 have shown such great dedication to the game and without them I very much doubt that we would be in the position we are in today with the Chain Game running so strongly and this has been particularly helpful to me over the last year where I have not been able to be as active in running the Chain Game as I previously have been able to due to ongoing real life commitments but with the support and help from TubewayArmy and Th3MaN1 I have been able to still run the Chain Game and actively keep the game, lists, Design and Index up to date. To show the appreciation that I, and many others, have for both of these members, they have both been awarded with a Contribution Award on their GTAForums Profiles. This is a very well deserved award for both of you - Congratulations and Keep up the good work! :)

Th3MaN1

Upon reading that wall of text, I started to slowly realize that this game has become much bigger than it was probably meant to be.

I won't start sugarcoating and drop tears, but this award means a lot to me, as I witnessed the game growing, changing and becoming what it is today, and I'm very proud of being part of it.

I can't hit the post button without thanking GTAKid as well. Guy took what he was given and ran with it, something not many would have done in his place. I know first-hand that taking care of the chain game can prove to be challenging, and so far, I've never been dissapointed by the way you handled all the many rounds that have taken place since you have replaced Arsen.

Congrats to TubeawayArmy for the award as well. Your huge amount of contributions to this and the Vice City chain game in such a short time didn't go unnoticed.

Also huge round of applause for thehambone, for the help you offered to GTAKid and for the workforce you showed during your playtime, which I hope doesn't stop anytime soon.

Appreciation from me also goes to the staff of the chain game, whether past or present, for keeping the game on it's legs when others couldn't be here.

Thanks to the players, veterans or just people who took a turn and decided to not continue, for contributing overall to the progress of this game.

Last of all, thank you very much Arsen for starting this in the first place and keeping it stable until someone else took the burden off of you.

Here's to more!

Great post, GTAKid! Congratulations to both Th3MaN1 and TubwwayArmy for their awards! They are certainly well-deserved and I'm happy to see their extensive contributions to the Chain Game didn't go unnoticed.

And thank you, GTAKid, for running the III and VC Chain Game so well for the past few years and being such a great sport overall! Even when the games are slow, I relish in the fact that you still put forth the effort to administer the current rounds and compile statistics at the end of each round.

Happy New Year everybody! Let's make 2017 another great year for the Chain Game! :)

Thank you everyone, we could have never got this far without any of you. It's great to see such continued dedication and support from all of you, let's hope that 2017 brings many more great rounds of the Chain Game! :)

The Statistics for Round 59 and Round 60 have now been completed and posted, and the 100% Save Files for Rounds 58, 59 and 60 have all been uploaded to the growing collection of save files we have over on GTAGarage which now stands at over 7000 Downloads! Great Work Everyone!

Yes, I see you even had to stop at Pay 'N' Spray so that your pile of junk didn't break down before the end of the race... :sigh:

I have nothing to redeem it for, I've already proven how good it is. You on the other hand proved that your car is only good for blowing up ;)

There's nothing that you can do in the Cheetah that I can't do in the Idaho. I've won races, picked up some of Liberty City's finest women, survived heated encounters with some of the worst gangs in the city - And not once has the vehicle failed me. It's a legendary vehicle, something I'll never be able to say about your car...

Nothing will beat my car, not even boat on wheels or paper car. I can take three grandmas with me, have nice sightseeing around city without having to stop at pay n spray, my car won't even oversteer! #PerennialMasterRace

Are you sure yours can even start up? :sigh: Edited by GTAKid667
