I can't speak from experience, but anything can ruin a save or the game. But usually Silent's created content is safe. Either way, you should see it for yourself. If the mod does not present any dangers, speak to GTAKid in a PM for a request to use the mod in the chain game. If he allows it, you're good to go.

BTW, I have a suggestion about the list of special vehicles. Currently, it goes like this:

The main changes are marking the SSV cars in Yellow, because there is still a chance to obtain them later in the game and they're not lost forever, and also deleting the LD Sentinel and Infernus because those properties cannot be stored. Thoughts?

The ones marked in red are ones that cannot be currently aquired. Note that they require you to collect them during or after a mission.

 

Look how in the current round, at this point there's no way to collect an FBI car because a 5-star wanted level cannot be achieved unless you use trainers or something.

I understand why the FBI Car is in red, but why then are the SSV vehicles in red while the SI ones are in yellow? Shouldn't they all be in one color?

Don't worry about it, Arsen was making a general comment as we have had some people write similar messages in the past and have actually meant it. We just like the game to be played fairly, and want to prevent people from forcing others to play which can cause members to not enjoy the game.

I can't speak from experience, but I do not think that it will and thehambone seems to suggest that no problems will be caused from experience he may have previously had. Feel free to use SilentPatch when taking Chain Game Turns, and if we do later find that it causes problems you may be asked to remove it.

Yes, I'm pretty sure the SI Vehicles are meant to also be in red and then changed to yellow when the Island is unlocked. It seems to be a small oversight I made when creating the design - I'll be sure to change it.

There is a Replay Glitch that you can use with the Rampages that require you to blow something up, where if you replay a vehicle blowing up during the rampage (blow up a car, and then press F1 and watch it blow up again), it will count as a new explosion and count towards completing the rampage. If you finish the rampage while viewing a replay (so, if the last car needed blows up during a replay you are watching) then you will get 29996 Ammo for the weapon used in the rampage. I wasn't actually intending to do it though, but had 10 health left on the Rocket Launcher Rampage (maybe I should have refilled it before starting or something lol) while also having a 4 Star Wanted Level and very little time remaining so I used Replay for the last explosion to save me from failing :p

Attention: There are two saves here. The first is 'Van Heist' completed with no failures and the second is Van Heist completed with one failure in order to obtain the 'BP/FP Securicar' - I wasn't 100% sure of the rules relating to unique vehicles but the first post said to grab them so whoever wants to go next can choose between 1 mission failure or a BP/FP Securicar. Not the best unique but may come in useful :)

If you want some clarification on the rules - Failing a mission to obtain a Unique Vehicle in the GTA III Chain Game is always allowed and therefore both saves you have posted are perfectly acceptable. Failing a mission for any other purpose is not allowed.

 

Also, if you do collect a Unique Vehicle, it's recommended to state where you stored the vehicle (in this case I assume that you stored it in Portland) so that the 'Unique Vehicle List' in the opening posts can be easily updated.

Attention Everybody - Chain Game Ban Notice


I'd like to make another announcement today which is unfortunately not going to be a positive one, similar to the last one I had to write a few months ago.

During Round 52, I was becoming increasing concerned of vehicles being stored in safehouse garages with an active bomb installed. I felt that after a good few rounds of this occurring, the 'joke' had gone too far and was becoming extremely frustrating for players as it is wasting turn time, in game cash and more importantly losing us Health and Armor having to defuse them or getting killed if we do not exit the vehicle immediately. It also renders the purpose of the garages useless, as we are not able to use any of the vehicles to get quick transport from our hideout to the Mission Start Location.

I had addressed this issue and the potential consequence in my turn post here and am displeased to inform you all that @DragonpokeZ has taken it upon himself yet again to rig a few cars this round during his turn here:

While I did not think it would ever come to this, I completely stand by the punishment I outlined in the turn post of mine linked above.

From this point forward, DragonpokeZ is
banned from participating in the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game until further notice, which will be no sooner than Round 55.

I am personally extremely disappointed that DragonpokeZ blatantly ignored the post I had made and even more so that he has continued to break the rules in exceeding the 3 Hour Turn Limit in his latest turn. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and takes away the fun of the game for many players including myself, and so I believe a Chain Game Ban is a fair and warranted punishment to give.

All Players should be informed that any turn DragonpokeZ calls before his ban has expired will be made invalid by the Chain Game Staff regardless of whether he follows the rules or not. If another player should want to take a turn during this time, use the save file in the previous post to DragonpokeZ's or else any progress you will make will be lost.

Thanks to the rest of you for continuing to play fairly.

But quickly learned why no one had done it yet... because it's impossibly difficult.

Yeah, this is because after the mission 'Sayonara Salvatore' (which is already complete in this round) Paramedic becomes more difficult due to the increase in hostile gang activity. It can still be done though, just not as easily as it can be done at the beginning of the game before that particular mission is complete.

Yeah, that was part of my problem, no matter how carefully I felt like I was driving, I would always end up blowing up around Level 5, and I must have been driving carefully since I kept almost running out of time with every delivery, but I suppose those slight bumps and gunshots and such really add up over time. I deem it to be impossible! :D Well, I guess Johan just did it, so it isn't, but still, the only chance I personally have of doing it is using that ghost ambulance glitch (that I looked up and found out about after the fact in my attempt to find ways to complete it), which I'm not sure is even allowed, so perhaps I am simply destined never to complete GTA III paramedic. :(

Normally we try and get it done at the beginning of the game when it's easier, but some rounds we haven't done it and it can cause a bit of a problem at the end of the round when many of us try to get it done and don't do well :pp

 

 

Ghost Ambulance Glitch

Yes, you are free to use this glitch within the Chain Game - made a video about it which is most likely the one you had seen. It makes it easier as the Ambulance can't get damaged so it's useful to know, particularly if Paramedic is left until this stage of the game. Edited by GTAKid667

Ah, good to know for next round then! I think I'll slowly learn how to play this game over the course of each round, should be interesting compared to the other games I know off by heart. :lol: The video I found was called "The Easiest Way to Complete Paramedic" (which may or may not be the one you're talking about, I'm not sure) so it obviously immediately grabbed my attention. :D Thanks for the advice!

Delivered the Dodo to the Import/Export Garage in Portland Harbor. Failed twice, but as they say, the third time's the charm.

I knew I wasn't the only one. I hate the Dodo in this game.

And by that you mean... what exactly?

 

I play with a USB joystick too (some replica of a PS3 controller but it works really well), but I cannot, to this day, get that dodo to fly. I can take off and gain some altitude, but I can't keep it for sh*t.

When taking off, keep pressing "Dodo down" until you see sparks coming from under the body so it will gain more speed (it doesn't accelerate by it's propeller but by its wheels). When airborne, try to keep Dodo a very small degree from horizontal so it won't lose much speed.

I know how to do it, but can't put it to practice. Like I said, I can get up with the Dodo, I just can't keep it in the air.

Hey, I wanna play this again. Just to be clear, would the Steam version be a problem? I searched the topic and was able to load a sample savegame with it, but I want to be sure it works both ways before I make myself look stupid. I'm pretty good at doing that.
