That's great, I was actually thinking today that it would be good time to do another Starter Save Round.

I think it'll be good too. We had wanted to do a Starter Save Round before Round 50 although didn't because Round 49 ended only a few days before it was time to post the 50th Round.

 

 

I have one question: are we going to be able to collect BF Injection, FBI Car and Rhino this round?

It won't be possible in this round as there won't be generated vehicles (and there is no other way to obtain these vehicles at this point in the game). Some of the rounds in the past used Generated Vehicle saves to do this, but we'll be sticking to a regular save. Edited by GTAKid667

I mean GTA 3 is fun and it's my favorite GTA game along with VC and SA but even I think is getting boring of playing the same missions and doing the same stuff over the many chain game rounds. I didn't play any chain game but I am just saying, having a new GTA 3 experience in a chain game would breathe some new fresh air into GTA 3. What do you guys think? I suggest this TC called Frosted Winter, which is now known as Ultimate Winter Mod: http://gtaforums.com/topic/466023-gta-frosted-winter/

 

I think it would be better played in December and it's ok I can wait until then but I just want to see something new for a change. :)

That's interesting idea, I'm not agaist it. Would be nice as Christmas round or something like that.

Yes, I agree. And about VC Chain Game, I noticed that quite a long time ago. I don't know why people stopped with that considering 3 and SA chain games are still active.

No I will not stop until I get an official response from GTAKid667. It's not like I asked something impossible and who are you to say that my idea will not happen? You aren't the chain game chief, so you aren't the one who decides what will happen and what will not happen! I was just giving a damn suggestion.

A Total Modification would mean re-learning most of the game from scratch, not to mention less experienced players.

It would create confusions as to what to do, how to do, and what you can't do.

People like things that are familiar, making drastic changes (looking at you Windows 8) does not make anyone happy.

Not to mention, not everyone may succeed in installing the Total Modification.

And the saves won't be compatible with anything else, as the mod changes the script completely.

 

We might try something like this however, but as a spin-off, not a regular round. And certainly not making it the only round available, maybe two rounds at the same time, normal and with the mod?

 

As for the VC...well...will try to do something about it.

Yes, I know that and unfortunately on YouTube, there aren't any playthroughs of the newest version of the mod, just the old version. I don't know why but I better ask that on the Frosted Winter thread. Of course the saves will not be compatible with original GTA 3 but they will be with the mod, assuming everyone installs the mod correctly and the same version.

 

I suggest to try this on December on Christmas one time to see how well it works. I like the idea of having both the winter mod and the unmodified GTA 3 rounds at same time, so people can choose which one to do or both (well not at same time but you get the idea).

Not that it matters, but I am pretty sure if you do the Starter Save in the Prison Outfit and fail Give Me Liberty that it will add an extra Mission Attempt to the Stats. Personally, I always do Give Me Liberty and Luigi's Girls and then make the EC Kuruma DP and bring it to SSV. Then work with SSV to SI, and finally Portland. Or, before making the Kuruma DP, I do Portland to SI to SSV. If you do Give Me Liberty/Luigi's Girls, the Stats will stay clean. The max percentage you can reach is 53%. I have 52% for PS2 and iOS, though. Can't fly the Dodo onto the SSV Lift Bridge to get the final Hidden Package which would make all 100 Packages and I'd have the 53%...

 

Also, even though it doesn't increase the percentage, you can get the Enforcer and Barracks OL for the EV Crane in case somebody doesn't know this. Getting the Barracks OL requires you to glitch it underground from SI to Portland...As for the Enforcer, do the same thing, OR get a 4 star wanted level and then steal one and then lose the wanted level and take it to the Crane.

 

Also, you don't need to use the Dodo for the Callahan Bridge Stunt Jump...Banshee works...

Yes, it adds an extra Mission Attempt to the stats, but it's not something that I am concerned about.

No problem. But I personally only allow for 5 Failures in total. So when the game is finished I have 73 Missions Passed out of 73 and 78 Attempts.

I always do the Callahan Stunt Jump in Banshee, it's easy...if you don't hit anything on your way to the ground that is.

Same. Banshee is quite easy to use and hit the Jump. You just back it up to the end of the bridge where it's broken and floor it straight off the jump and land in the grass below the bridge.

Of course we know that, don't take us for fools. In the assembled save file without "Give Me Liberty" passed, however, there is debris on the bridge preventing you to accelerate properly with the Banshee AND hit the ramp at the right angle to clear the Jump - that is why the Dodo has to be used in that Round.

 

And one more thing, I'm more of a perfectionist than you can think, concerned about clean stats more than you do - to the extent I allow myself NO mission failures at all. But that is only when I play myself. Here, in the Chain Game, nothing of that matters. We play for sheer enjoyment. Although the Wasted/Busted stats remain clean even here and missions are complete in the correct order, nothing else matters here - be it mission failures, unique vehicles, completing Paramedic in the end of the game and whatnot.

 

On another note, I'd like to hear your instructions about how to exactly get the Barracks OL to Portland - I'm more than sure your instructions will help a lot of us here.

About the Barracks, it was mentioned a couple of posts ago to glitch through the underground tunnel.

I also heard a while back to use a boat (a Reefer?)

Possible, though improbable.

 

I mean, we can sure as hell launch this bonus Round for Christmas, but there is no way we are going to launch it alone. You see, many players here come to play the original GTA III, and would not want to install the mod. Not all of them, but a good deal of them. Therein lies the problem: with so few players to play and with all those undiscovered collectibles, we risk having this Round stalled. And I fear, it eventually will.

 

So if we launch it, and provided we launch it, this is going to happen with a regular Round or a starter save Round commencing simultaneously - and even then the players would much prefer playing one of those Rounds, thus draining the players away from FW Round. That is why I predict this Round will stall.

 

But we will never know for sure unless we launch and see. Discuss further details with me in PM, if you'd like.

Turn to 11:20 to see the Barracks OL being pushed through the ground and taken to Portland. Video by the legendary fnxrak. You can get all Vehicles for EV Crane early except the FBI Car and Tank.

 

About Failures. I'd have 0, too. That is.....If you can obtain the BP/FP Securicar, Unique/EC Corpse Manana, AP/EC Stretch, BP/FP Trashmaster, and EC Cheetah/Stinger/Infernus (simultaneously at the same time) WITHOUT Failure. But you can't...Thus 5 Failures in the Stats. I don't fail for any reason, lol...I only fail if a Special Vehicle REQUIRES it. I have all 13 in III for both PS2 and iOS. However, on iOS I have 6 Failures since the Cheetah in Turismo can't be passed to obtain it since I can't make a DP Mr. Wongs to use for the Race. The Crusher Glitch doesn't work the same on Mobile. You are forced to use Mission Scripted Passengers in the front seat of your Vehicle to make them DP. Taxi Glitch is fixed in Mobile and won't work to get a passenger and hookers exit the Vehicle when you try it, too. As for the PS2 Save, I passed Turismo for the Cheetah and made it DP, to make it AP, of course.

 

Not only III, but I do this for all GTA's. I am sure some people can tell you around here I am practically obsessed with getting all Special Vehicles for all GTA Games with the cleanest Stats possible :D

 

EDIT: I'd like to add that (even though I get the Blista and other Vehicles like this from Fightfighter/Vigilante in Portland) you can get the Blista from SI and get it back to Portland, too. There is many underground locations on how to do all of this. Each location is separate for each Vehicle. Like, where you put the Barracks OL to get underground is not the same place as the Blista and other Vehicles, etc...

Objection - you can still complete that particular jump without use of Dodo before "Give Me Liberty" is complete!

@GTAKid667, you can also add a Lightless Cabbie to the Special Vehicle List in the Starter Save if you want. You can get that, just as easily as a Lightless Taxi and Graffitiless Hoods Rumpo XL...

 

You can even get a Lightless Borgnine, but it's harder to get that one. Also what is UC? Unique Color...Those aren't UC/EC Vehicles, just Glitched Vehicles...

If you say so. I am pretty sure a Lightless Taxi has the same Yellow color as any Taxi without a Light, hence why I asked what the UC was for as it's not a Unique Colored Vehicle. I know the terminology (another term is EC - Exclusive Color). It's a Glitched Vehicle, without a Light. Same for the Hoods Rumpo XL without Graffiti. Same Vehicle, minus Graffiti due to a Glitch with too much game data being loaded at once and not enough resources to spawn a Light/Graffiti.

 

And what do you mean "do sh*t your way." You can do what you want, but it doesn't excuse the fact there is a Lightless Cabbie and Lightless Borgnine to be obtained. All I was saying is why not add in the other Lightless Vehicles? If you have a Lightless Taxi, why not the Lightless Cabbie/Borgnine. Both exist and should be added to the list in the OP. If if it's not gonna be complete, might as well not even add in any of them...

Because there's people that don't know every f*cking thing thing about the game. And the players mostly collect unique vehicles obtained during missions. We have a time limit, we can't dick around.

 

And if you're gonna quote my words, quote them exactly, not how it's perceived from your perspective. That's why it's a quote.

 

In the end, you're going into way too much detail it makes my head hurt. I play for fun, you play to collect 30 thousand unique vehicles in 1 go without dying once.

And for previous topic - I'd REMOVE one of the unique vehicles - LD Sentinel. How am I supposed to distinguish it from any other Sentinel?

Only before you get it inside your garage - anyone who tries to open a door from the outside will not be able to do so - not even you, if you are careless enough to exit and shut the door. This vehicle is unique still, only so, its unique property is not permanent. It can be used, however, when you need to move around a hostile gang's area (especially if you complete "The Thieves" later in the game), or if you simply want to make a nuisance of yourself.

Round 51 of Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game

 

This round writes history - I completed the shortest taxi fare in GTA III ever! This guy wanted to take from Ammu-Nation to Ammu-Nation. He paid me whopping $5. It was instantly finished. I picked him up and I was already standing on final destination marker.

This thing often happens to me but in Shoerside Vale (I/E garage)

Which account are you playing the game under? The one called "Administrator" or one of your own?

Also, how do you know the files aren't being read?

 

 

Interesting. I don't think I've ever tried to do taxi missions in Shoreside Vale.

I usually break the Taxi missions into thirds and do 33 on Portland, 33 on Staunton, and 34 on Shoreside, just to get a change of scenery :p

Bulit-in, it's not read beacuse saves aren't shown and it always starts in 640x480x16. But, it saves gta3.set according to modify date.

Interesting thing is when I changed Documents directory, it started working correctly.
