Controlling the Hydra

As many of you know the Hydra is not as nimble as the Lazer and as a result is harder to control, kind of like a classic muscle car compared to a 90's JDM hatchback.

During hovermode it's kind of sluggish and tends to veer to one side for a few seconds before you gain control over it, this, while being more realistic can be a bit irritating if you don't know how to minimise it.

Is there any way to gain control a lot quicker or enter hover mode without it leaning for about 5 seconds before you can effectively point the guns towards your target?

When engaging hover mode pull back on the left stick and floor the throttle. Should stop it earlier, though it will also gain altitude.

I've been told by several skilled pilots here on the forums that practice is the key to mastering the Hydra. I recently bought one too, and am having a terrible time trying to figure it out. I've been going into a private session and taking the Hydra out to sandy shores to practice in the flat lands there. I am getting better, but slowly. I suggest you push the plane hard to get used to what it can and can't do. Yeah, I crash that thing all the time. But I do gain experience with it too.

You just gotta practice, practice, practice with it. The Hydra takes incredible skill to master and practice is the ONLY way to get there.

There is no magic key here.

Thanks for the replys guys.

@Verstappen

I haven't tried that but I will next time I'm flying it, it does sound promising.

@SRTTURB04

I've learned this the hard way, I've probably crashed it more times than I've hit stationary targets :lol:. I guess this is one of the things that you can get only get good at through experience, looks like I've got a lot of practice to do.
