Let's discuss the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto based in Capitol City [Washington D.C.]

 

The game would be based in a relatively recent period of time (post 9/11 -- maybe 2002 - 2016).

 

 

What would be the overall storyline?

What would be in the game?

What would the characters look like?

What kind of contacts would give you missions?

What would the radio stations reference and satirize?

What areas, outside of the national mall, would be included?

What would the missions involve?

What unique features could a game based in Washington D.C. have?

 

 

Personally, I imagine a game set very similarly to something like House of Cards. Where there are lots of dirty secrets behind the scenes of national politics. Maybe you run hits or gather information for a very powerful politician (or a person who knows a person who knows them). Maybe the FEDS and other government agents/agencies play a huge role in the game. Corruption would most likely be the overall theme the title would be adopt.

 

The map could include the national mall, of course, but also surrounding areas and cities like Baltimore, Maryland, since it's so close, and even Virginia, for a nice suburban portion of the map, or even Delaware for rural
