Geralt of Rivia
First Person for ever! Sometimes i change it to 3rt Only God knows why you bother playing GTA then. There are plenty of primarily FPS games out there. You should be playing COD.Yes, because CoD provides exactly what GTA provides! Why didn't I think of that sooner!? It's amazing how you don't understand the concept. Geralt with his usual Mr know it all, patronising bullsh*t. It was easy to guess you'd turn up to respond. Anyway, of course I understand the concept, I just don't see the point in it, end of.
Geralt of Rivia
No, you don't understand the concept lol. Your response wouldn't be "Go play COD hurrrrrr" if you did. Or your other responses, such as "Go play Far Cry hurrrrrrr." "They're both open world free roam? What's the difference!?" Geralt of Rivia
I doubt I'm even here when GTA VI even gets announced. I'm spending less and less time here due to the quality of this place tanking.

Geralt of Rivia
It's clearly a 3rd person game for everyone. But that doesn't mean it can't introduce new things that enhance the experience. Gummy
PoeticWhisper
I primarily play in 3rd person. But when I want to, I play in first. No reason for me not to use a feature that was introduced, because I have been waiting for them to do it for the longest time. Hope they keep it in the game in GTA VI Geralt of Rivia, CanadianThunder and Sussus Amongus

tigerpr0n
i dunno, i have a lot of time in FPS games and GTA just feels wrong. from FOV to sensitivity and just general clunkiness, i don not enjoy 1st person. the visuals are great and the guns look good, but that's about it in my opinion. it just feels completely tacked on, nevermind the fact you can't see over the hoods of half of the cars in the game. BlackSnow176
Perhaps the first person in GTA V sucks so much because it's the first time Rockstar do something similar. Or maybe because GTA just isn't meant to be an FPS Would love the ability to just walk (and not jog) in first person mode, and I sometimes enjoy driving cars with that camera. But I use it mostly for screens (with HUD and radar turned off). Edited October 7, 2015 by BlackSnow176

EF2000
If Track IR was implemented then I'd use FPV all the time. But otherwise, I'll stick to third person. I prefer seeing my character & it's great having more situational awareness.
Raj The Rager
First Person is great. It brings out GTA 5 in a new magnificent way and view. I wouldn't mind seeing it again in upcoming games by Rockstar. Edited October 11, 2015 by Chamberman20
Hominin
FP increases immersion considerably. Only point to third-person is to see your character or car. It just seems to be that majority of GTA players are incapable of learning more than a couple of things and those are taken up by their karuma and supercar Having said that, FP does have some issues and my biggest problem with it is the low-res and repetitive interiors on cars and sights on weapons. Most cars have exactly the same dashboard and optical sights aren't round, they look like they're a few generations behind in graphics I can't see R* fixing that considering most players don't have the skills to use FP and R* will always focus on what the majority is doing. Acidworm
I've always used third person in GTA games. I was forced to in some mission I joined online where we had to kill a bunch of people. It was difficult driving the armored Kuna since you can barely see out of it and shooting everything just made it worse as it cracked the glass. I may give it another shot but it is a big advantage being able to use third person for the huge increase in vision such as looking around corners. OurJud
The new Director mode may just have ruined 1st person view for me. I've always been a die-hard 1st person fan, so when Rockstar introduced it for current gen I thought all my Christmases had come at once. I loved it - still do, but because the Director mode - of which I spend most of my time now - doesn't allow 1st person view unless you're using your online or story characters, I've had to make do with 3rd person. Today when I went free-roaming it was the first time I've tried playing in 1st person for quite some time, and it made me feel very queasy indeed! Deafiroth
I use it all the time. 3rd person is so clunky it killed last gen for me. 1st person feels like it's hasn't been compromised for the sake of realism like 3rd. Note to rockstar, making your movement deal breakingly clunky makes me incredibly frustrated, not immersed. OurJud
poland stronk
FPP clearly makes difference in this game. I played a job in GTA Online which lead to a car chase. I was driving in first person, pressed button to look behind to see my pursuers then I looked back to see a car trying to drive past the crossing and realising I am unable do dodge it. Or when I am in cover and don't really know what is happening and have to manually duck out to see enemies positions. Or when you are flying and have to rely on radar to know your altitude if you are skewed or where other aircraft is. By limiting view it forces players to take different approach to certain tasks when in TPP you can just stand near corner and clearly see what is happening. In FPP you have to forsee what AI is trying to do. It makes me think that this game just provides too much information. You know when you are wanted, where your target is escaping, where your enemies are. Also I think that when you take cover in TPP your camera should be position in a way you can't see your enemies unless you duck out. This would be hard as you can just stand near wall without taking cover and see enemies but without crouching using cover system is essential in most gunfights even in FPS view. I wrote it many times that this feature needs improvements but I understand that the game has been designed for TPP, FPP was merely an addon for remaster of this game and you can see it, especially in some missions which sometimes transition you to 3rd person (when stealing Jimmy's car as Franklin or destroying Vinewood Hills Mansion as Michael). I also like responsivness in FPP when walking. It isn't perfect but at least I can make sharp turns and my character doesn't have to run half street to come to full stop. I just wish there weren't camera restrictions making it unable to look all the way down, left right or up, especially in vehicles. And that your character wouldn't flinch with each camera rotation or making small step. Or if mirrors weren't blurry. Or... XenoxX

Hazel Mae
It's surprisingly decent for their first attempt, and if you mess with the FOV, acceleration, and deadzone settings it plays a lot better too. However, you are at a large disadvantage online but I've gotten pretty good at fighting with it. I really don't understand why people want it gone, seeing as they don't have to use it and it doesn't provide any advantage. OurJud

It does provide a disadvantage the car damage system was nerfed for next gen versions in order to protect your first person mode view from being blocked. You have no idea what you are talking about so stop trying to act like you do.
