CarlitoDorito
Not really impressed to be honest. To me it just looks like another generic FPS, and I've seen it all before in such games. Don't get me wrong it looks like it's fun, but when it comes to GTA, it's just not something that interests of excites me regarding gameplay. I play GTA for the third-person view exclusively, no amount of insane FPS action would change that, so this video does not appeal to me. I use third person too, far too used to it, but first person can offer much more than shooting. I don't think it's meant to be a first person shooter mode, people associate it with COD which is a brainless first person shooter and a camera option isn't that. When I use it it's not really for shooting, the video was about the brutality. It's good for a new view of the map, which is good for people who want that, anyone who's ever wondered what things might look like from their perspective, I'm sure some have, people do like the FP mods for PC. It's a slightly deeper way to role play too and these forums have quite a few role players. The game is quite nice looking, nice views and things, so it's also good for people who wanna see the sunsets and wildlife, the atmosphere is easier to soak up, again that's only good if you like that sort of thing. Good for petrol heads I guess, the interiors are nice, the cars handle a bit more realistically, suspension seems more dramatic. Good if anyone misses the taxi rides from IV. I think GTA is about choice although I may be the only one, but having the option, especially for people who wanna see things differently or whatever is undeniably a good thing. It's not just kids who use it, it could bring in people who haven't played GTA because they play fist person RPG's, skyrim addicts who want something different, still first person, but not 'rashkov' 'yes comerade' 'a bad guy done bad things with nuke or virus or robots' 'what do you want me to do?' 'Shoot your way through 10 locations and possibly die at the end or in the middle or first level' 'got it' 'make sure you find out which one of your allies is a bad guy before!! He turns on you' 'yes sir!' 'I'm dying sir, all I can see is red, I can hear my heartbeat! There's no hold X prompt in front of me' 'I know, I'm the baddy remember' which is COD SP defined. I quite like it though, I try to like some bad things. Taken for what it is it's a silly action film rather than an offense people deserved to be hanged for, V isn't quite that. I think if people who don't use it think it's bad because it's like cod or because it's mainstream then that's fine, you believe it and that's all that matters, but try to think outside the box a might find something you like. Possibly. Obviously if you would have preferred something else than that's fair enough. There might be other things eventually lol Edited August 18, 2015 by CarlitoDorito Frito-Man
Lester-The-Molester
I just Iove entering my Enus Windsor in FPV, putting the key into the ignition, hearing that nice roar from the engine, then looking around admiring that sexy interior. It feels like I'm actually driving a car.
J Cobra
You're saying people didn't care, when they were making mods and requesting for FP to happen. On next gen consoles, they did a few new things. Maybe it's not much, but it's still GTA V not GTA VI. Edited August 18, 2015 by J Cobra

Official General
FPV mode could cure cancer and still certain people wouldn't be impressed by it lol Yep you said it. Very true on my behalf. Very few FPS games have really caught my eye, was never really into them. So to see my favorite franchise using up content to implement FPS just don't impress me no matter what. golf wang
Xing of Virtue
Don't judge a book by it's cover. I myself hated that the FPV was implemented in GTA, but it was absolutely astonishing once I tried it.
Yoona
Console like FOV that even on highest setting is a joke, that's my only complain about FPV.
SmileyBandito
Seriously Rockstar, is it a crime to go over 70° FOV? 85 should be the bare minimum. Even on PC it's just as low as the console version. I get that it's there first run with a first person mode, but it doesn't take a clear set of eyes to notice how narrow the FOV is. SmileyBandito
I love how some of you have this groundless bias against first person mode in GTA V just because you feel Rockstar is blatantly trying to gain easy selling points by implementing a mainstream mechanic seen in other hit franchises like Call Of Duty. Um, no, first person mode was something the series would get around to eventually. It offers a unique and more immersive perspective to the world Rockstar's created. It's absolutely optional, so I don't see why anyone bitches about its inclusion. SmileyBandito
Field of view is the extent of visible image displayed on your screen. Gamers usually like it wide, especially for first person shooters. Here is an image comparison showing a FOV mod vs. the game's default FOV: http://imgur.com/lcRuR1J As you can see, the default one is cramped up, as if the player's face is glued to the dashboard of the vehicle. Dee-account-with-1kbans
I'm not fond of it. It doesn't belong in a GTA game. It's for the masses I suppose Official General
Lemoyne outlaw
i think it was a good first attempt at a first person view from rockstar. i like it. it does have some issues but i like driving in first person. i hope rockstar adds it again in future games. i just hope they tweak it a little. CarlitoDorito
One good thing is guns now have detail. Good for anyone who ever complained about the lack of it, compared it to another games guns maybe. Not good if you have no interest in first person. I quite like it because they're supremely detailed. If you leave the controller for a bit there's small animations, some have unique animations like rolling a grenade on their hand or throwing it up and catching it. I think its not on last gen because of all the extra animations, Its not quite as easy as move camera to eye level. I like that the pin in grenades moves. I've come to expect games to not have little things like that now Imagine the peds as headcrabs. ZHPbim
I use third person about 60% of the time and first person 40% of the time. When I'm stoned I uses first person alot more, I find it to be alot more immersive. When you get used to driving in first person, your driving is actually alot better. Dodging in and out of cars is much easier. I do agree that the FOV is too small though. Edited August 25, 2015 by ZHPbim
SmileyBandito
I think the camera auto-center should be disabled when we climb obstacles in first person.
PieFace2
I only ever used the first person mode to unlock the trophy and that's it, other that that I always play in 3rd person mode. It does need some tweeking, when you look straight in the mirror your body is facing sideways, I don't know if it's just me but I can't run in a straight line in first person, he always starts to run left and right when im only pushing forward, and the field of view is too narrow. PhillBellic
After using it on and off for a couple of Weeks, I don't really like it. It feels too restrictive in nature whilst you are in a Vehicle. You can only look 45 degrees down, as opposed to having near View Freedom with the FPV Mod in GTA IV. el carlitos
I like first person when driving the Bati. I drive a CBR in real life and in first person it comes "close" to real driving.
MessedUpPro
I did a first person playthrough, once I got it for PS4. Pretty fun experience, especially with it being my third overall playthrough. Makes the game feel fresh again, and also adds a new level of immersion. I haven't used it much since I finished the story, though. I occasionally switch to it when driving.
