However the caddy no longer seems to spawn at leaf links. It did on the "Four Iron" mission, but I have not seen it there since then. Purple9 Posted January 14, 2003 Share Posted January 14, 2003 Yes, sometimes you have to keep going there and back to Leaf Links to wait for the Caddy to spawn - it'll appear eventually. Now when you're at the entrace of the golf course, head to the second Island by taking the bridge...drive real slowly and almost everytime a Caddy will spawn. GOOD LUCK! I can't even find a caddy in the golf course itself, I though I'd be able to find one in there and use the jump to get it out, but no. I dunno if this has got anything to do with the way that I beat "four iron", because on that mission when you first enter the course, there is a Caddy there near to where the golf club is. I took that Caddy and drove to the driving range, parked up by the other caddy's, got out and proceeded to bash it with my golf club(or whatever melee weaopon I had at the time) until it caugh fire and exploded and took out some of the other caddy's. I then smashed up any of the other caddy's around the driving range until, no more caddy's so the dude your supposed to knock off couldnt get away in one and I proceeded to kill the dude your supposed to. Now not since then have I returned to the course and Im beginning to wonder if maybe I caused this lack of spawning by destroying all the caddy's???? Now I got that Hotring Racer which I didnt get first time through, it dosent seem to have that great top speed, but the acceleration seems better than anything else or is that just an illusion? [email protected] Posted January 18, 2003 Share Posted January 18, 2003 What was the Purple Nines glitch in GTA3 anyways? well u should proilly ask this in the gta3 forum but.. in gta3 there was a mission for someone named D-ice where u had to kill 20 "purple nines" (gang members) in a certain amount of time. the glitch usually took place if u were on ur second time playing thru the game, when u got to that mission no purple nines would spawn, making it impossible to do the mission. the reason for this is because in ur first save game (the one where u complted the mission) the game thinks u killed all the purple nines, so in ur 2nd save game none would spawn. the only way to fix it is to delete the entire gta3 BLOCK from ur memory card and start a new game. i thought of this for the caddie thing because maybe after i completed the garage in my first save game, the game might have thought that all the caddies were gone for some reason and would not spawn any more. But you only took one Caddie to the i/e garage so I don't see why they should just evaporate into thin air and in gta3 you had to kill all the nines off and make it the jacks' turf for good. You only had to kill off 20 purple nines, I dont think it said anything about wiping the purple nines off the planet.. D-ice just said "show them how a real drive by is done". But if what u say is true then it makes much more sense as to why they wouldnt spawn after, i just dont rememebr him saying anything like that.
