Vice city drinking game

I was chilling with a friend one night, as he was showing me GTA2 since I had never seen it. After agreeing that it naturally sucked compared to GTA3 & Vice City, we decided to stray from the storyline of the game and just took turns driving around, seeing who could squash the most pedestrians. It was surprisingly fun. And then it hit me. It would make a fun drinking game... no wait... Vice City would make a great drinking game! I tried to devise the game based on how many people you killed until you were busted or wasted. But if the body count was the grounds for drinking, GTA gurus would have unfair advantages by knowing where they could sit all day long sniping people without any trouble from the law. This would have people puke drunk in 2 minutes.

So I sat down to try to devise a GTA:VC drinking game that doesn't give GTA gurus a super unfair advantage, and doesn't have you drinking too often or not often enough. Also I tried to make it easy enough for the participants to know when to drink. I mean, really, when I'm buzzed I can't tell if I just ran over a crowd of 4 gang memebers or 5. So forget body count.

Here's the fruit of my efforts. I hope it serves you well at your next in-home group-plastering.

Set the game up as follows:

Everyone agrees on a starting point (save point) to use. Get rid of all your weapons by dying, etc. Decide on if you are to have body armor (I would, just to make the fun last longer). Once you accomplish this setup, save the game to an empty slot on your memory card so you have it ready for the next player's turn.

Drinking Rules:

The rules are really very simple. You take turns playing. The player doesn't drink but everyone else watching does. Everyone takes a drink whenever the player gets another star tacked on to his wanted level. You drink as many times as the player has stars, whenever it rises. For example: the player gets one star, everyone drinks once. The player gets a 2nd star, everyone drinks twice. Three stars and you drink 3 times, etc. The player is motivated to keep moving because of the cops on his tail, and because the faster he raises his warrant, the faster everyone else gets f*cked up :)

More Rules:

The player is not allowed to pick up any weapons or items in the game. This includes health, body armor, police bribes, and any items that may be present at the hideout (This way the GTA gurus won't surpass everyone by knowing where to find items to keep themselves alive longer). You're not allowed to stop at a restaurant for health either. The only items you're allowed to make use of are ones that you automatically get from inside of vehicles... for example: shotguns only if they are acquired from stealing a cop car, or body armor if acquired by stealing a SWAT van, or 20 points of health for stealing an ambulance. That's it. Your primary weapon will be only vehicles.

When the player dies or is busted, their turn is over. Reload the saved game and pass the controller to the next person.

If the player is able to get a 5 star warrant (and everyone is taking 5 drinks) he stops trying to raise his warrant (The army is hard enough to deal with when sober, let alone wasted).

If the player reaches a 5 star warrant, he attempts to get rid of it, but is not allowed to use police bribes or clothes changes. You must make it to a Pay 'N Spray to do so. If the player successfully manages to survive long enough to lose his stars at the Pay 'N Spray, everyone else takes a shot of liquor, or something equally as punishing, and the turn is over.

So that's it. Hopefully, simple enough to remember how to play as youre getting toasted. I know, I have too much time on my hands, but so does anyone with a membership to a message board devoted to a video game ;) Dont flame, I jest in good humor!

If anyone has any other good ideas for a VC drinking game, or a variation of this one, let's hear 'em.
