Home Invasion dlc idea

this would just be annoying imo

"some idiot is robbing your apartment, go do something or lose money"

then no one would care and just play with empty apartments

exactly that.

exactly that it would be on the same level of bowling messages from roman

someone is breaking in well I can just disconnect and u will be kicked out

Safe house:
A safe house is, in a generic sense, a secret place for sanctuary or suitable to hide persons from the law, hostile actors or actions, or from retribution, threats or perceived danger.

I can see this being a huge issue. It sounds like a cool thing (call me a douche but I participated in the killing in garage glitch for sh*ts and giggles). I believe players would complain and a giant alert would be implemented that pops up an alert message that you're breaking in.

I'd be aight with it as long as I can rig an auto shotty to release hell on intruders. or traps in general, really. a remote bomb in a hard-to-notice off-brand piece of high-end furniture (my own purchase, maybe have a renovation/remodeling dlc to go along with this idea?), for example. or hell, lemme rig my actual furniture. its useless outside of heist cutscenes

The Lone Wanderer

might work with an opt out option

but that's bullsh*t and it would just turn into "watch_____dogs" with everyone disconnecting, glitching ways to cheat etc

also, there's literally nothing of value in apartments, and how the hell would you steal the furniture on the 20th floor?

cargobob?

I like the home invasion idea, in the grand scheme of things related to a GTA game, it just makes sense. However there needs to be a lot of fine tuning, and than even more testing/improvements when you think it's complete. It just screams glitch/bug-fest. Furniture and all that, yeah of course but it has no value unless you dump it off for x amount of cash. I'd like there to be Purchaseable jewelry that you can stash away in a showcase area maybe in your closet, and other home interior objects ranging from 50k-400k that could be stolen for its straight up value. That creates a cash sink for homes, and makes the whole thing worth the process.

braking in in other players appartment ?

please no, every player needs its safehaven

if we have minigames in appartments, let them be sh*t like poker and chess and such things

honestly this is a bad idea I mean we already have to deal with people that grief others now you want to give them the option to be able to steal items from other people's apartments. and the guy that posted this sounds like a griefer.

instead of invading other players homes and apartment how about we just invade AI homes like we did on San Andreas now that would be fun and another way to make money

It would work... if the low-end/mid-end interiors were actually INSIDE the houses.

All of these interiors are located in Legion Square.

Try getting inside my apartments. You will find and pass out to many tear gasses. Stick bombs in every room and last proxy minds on doors. Matter of time before you are dead or pass out to gas. I half support this idea and the other half will cause some problems.

i dont wanna see that implemented. its a 'safe' house - i go to my apartment to stay away from the ppl in freeroam while i dos, dont wanna deal with ppl. gtfo my space and stay away ;)

i know passive exists and i always enable it :D im just here for the cars though.

or how about the existing passive mode applies for both u and your apartment haha, in that case knock yourself out

Great feedback, it would be a perfect way to introduce apartment customization. Traps would be similar to ignition bombs in cars in which they blow up when an intruder comes near. Edited by Wallly

Kidnapping would never work with PVP. Especially if I can be knocked out for a minute, be locked in a truck for 10 minutes and then be used as a body shield for another minute. Too much time doing nothing for the victim, which would result in people leaving the session or just turning off the console for a bit.

PVE, on the other hand, would still work. I like the idea, but it would never work with PVP.

I seriously think there should be a home invasion, stealth, kidnapping themed update. You would be able to break into other players houses and apartments if you had enough people. For example, say your breaking into some poor old sap's paleto bay home. If you're by yourself there would be a small minigame sequence where both players are pressing on the door or whatever. The more players who are contributing to the burglary the more likely you are to break it down. It's kinda like arm wrestling. If you win the struggle their door would either break open or break off the hinges. You could then take their furniture and TV and other various objects. The homeowner would have to pay to get all their sh*t back. Or they could just shoot you when you bust down the door. The more expensive their home was the more of a profit the thief would make.

Various added things:

stealth mode puts you off the radar and npcs are less aware of you in missions

ability to sneak up on players and npcs and hit them in the back of the head to knock them out. Npcs would wake up after a set time but players will just have their vision blurred. You could then pick up their body and put them in your trunk, truck bed, etc. As you have them hostage you would be able to use them as human shields (players would obviously take more hits than npcs) or execute them, leave them tied up in the street, or even buy them a brand-new shiny pair of (cement) shoes.

Tldr: hide ya kids, hide ya wife

I hope you're not super cereal. Also, I believe you can format your post better. Also, tl;dr since the title told me all I needed to know.

And, a response to your idea in the form of a video, courtesy of Dr. Evil

Explain to me how this is fun for anyone except the person breaking and entering or kidnapping? Then think of how it would be when the squeakers and griefers are doing it to you...

I love the idea of the home invasion stuff for petty crime jobs but it would have to be NPC houses only. You could still do some of the things you suggest - profit based on property value, stealth gameplay, fighting resistance during the burglary - if it's more like the jobs in GTA:San Andreas then yeah, totally up for it.

As for the kidnapping element... while I personally don't think it's much of a big deal, the media would have a field day. Just imagine the controversy surrounding a new game mode, implemented by Rockstar (and therefore completely condoned by them in the public's eyes), where you get to incapacitate people and use them against their will.

We don't need more reasons for the general public to label GTA players (or fans of games in general) as crazed, sadistic sociopaths more than they already do.

Just my two cents :)

Wouldn't matter to be, it'd just further incentivise me to squirrel away in Invite Only. I dislike this idea for the same reason I don't blow up other player's cars if they haven't started anything with me, I'm not a massive douche who enjoys inducing misery on players.

It's called a safehouse for a reason. I would be very annoyed if someone could just break into my 490k apartment and steal everything just by button mashing. Breaking into NPC's houses on the other hand, I'm definitely in for. Griefing is bad enough already, and I certainly ain't letting players steal money from my bank account.

yessssss

Think that's the best I've ever seen that mission done. The Burglary missions you unlock afterwards can be quite fun, especially in Las Venturas.

I suppose it could work, if the no weapons in apartment rule still applied, and if you took a chance with players having pets in case anyone broke in. I'd go with a mountain lion.
