Theblackoutgow
I know this isn't the GeForce Forums but has anyone else had a lot of problems with these updates either causing BSOD's or freezing and black screens like I've been getting? I've tried downgrading back to 350.12 and 347.88 with DDU in safemode then performing a clean installation with no success. Just wanted to know I wasn't the only one. philbeau
I had a lot of driver crash with 353.06 but with the 353.12 hotfix, it seems to be better. I think I had only one crash with the 353.12.
INFP
You're not the only one. I've been having this since 30 hours into the game. I haven't tried any drivers earlier than the GTA 5 game ready driver though. This is on: i7-4790k GTX 970 8gigs ram You're not the only one. I've been having this since 30 hours into the game. banrek
I only know i installed it when it showed up, went in the game and crashed in the first 15 minutes. Uninstalled and went back to 352.86 and haven't had any problems since. (GTX 970)

EvilDog77
I just installed my new 980ti yesterday after running GTA V on a HD7970 flawlessly for months. Installed the latest drivers direct from the nVidia site (not through Geforce Experience) and started crashing after about 10 mins of play. Disabled Shadowplay and got it up to 45 mins to an hour. I've now disabled my Steam overlay which seems to have stopped the crashes altogether (for the time being). Congrats on the new card Thanks! 1080p, everything on max, FXAA off, MXAA x4, TXAA off. Rarely drops below 100FPS, usually settles on about 120FPS. I've not owned an nVidia card since I let my old Geforce 4 ti4200 go and I really don't like it when nVidia fanboys diss AMD cards, but damn. Somehow, the game just looks... nicer. Water effects seem smoother and sunlight seems to peek through the clouds which I never noticed on my HD7970, but that's probably just me. If I'm honest, it's probably overkill for GTA V alone but I'm gonna try it out across my three displays over the next couple of days. Also got a few other games I will be paying on three displays. Project Cars is on my to-buy list and 3 screens is a must for a game like that. I'm also probably gonna get an Oculus Rift next year and my HD7970 would have struggled with that. oCrapaCreeper
Yeah the recent Nvidia drivers are f*cked. They can cause BSOD's or just simply lock up the whole computer requiring a hard restart. For me though it isn't exclusive to playing GTAV, I've had it happen in other games or just simply while browsing Chrome.
mahanddeem
So Evildog77 when you say "all maxed out" you mean grass is also ultra? If yes wow that 980ti is a beast! My 980 can't do ultra grass without dips into 40s! And What about when you turn on all advanced settings menu? My 980 can't do ultra grass without dips into 40s! And What about when you turn on all advanced settings menu? Yep. Grass too, though I've still experienced crashing since I made that post. I've installed the 353.12 hotfix and disabled all AA options for now just to see how it works out. I can live without AA for a while until new drivers come out. Not touched the advanced stuff yet as I rather enjoy playing at 100fps. By the way, my 980ti is the EVGA SC edition. Not sure how much of a real-world difference that makes over the reference version. EDIT: 353.12 is definitely more stable than 353.06 and when I cranked up all those advanced options it still ran like a beast, running at around the 100FPS mark for the most part and dipping to 60FPS is busy city-lit areas. Only problem I seem to get now is when you 'refresh' the game (when you enter Director mode for example) and you're near the sea, the waves stop working. It's just flat water.
