Suicide is the cowards way out of a gun fight or smart playing?

Complaining about the police ruining gunfights is like complaining about a cook making you food. It's their job to take you down for puting the public in danger (even though they themselves do damage). If you want to fight, do a deathmatch where cops won't interrupt you.

If I want to fight I fight where and how I want to. f*ck those hyper-aggressive, unrealistic cops. I play this game on my own terms.

Isn't this...your second topic...on the same topic?

It's a cowards way out...it just is. You can call it smart if you want, you're supposed to fight to the death.

No I haven't ever discussed this here, before. Sorry if the topic has been done to death ;)

I just wanted to know what the general consensus was, and whether others do this too.

Personally I don't, I think it's a bit petty, but understandable in some circumstances.

One side care too much about their KD.

The other side care too much about free roam e-war personal rule.

Both are just the same to me.

I'll relay the same 5 word smackdown to any of these useless threads: USE IT... OR LOSE IT. usually I don't use it, HOWEVER if the opponent is using similar tactics I will too. kind of like in DB Xeno- oh wait, that game actually takes skill to defeat your opponent.

if KD is what you care about smart move to be honest

though i like to keep my KD of more then 1, when fighting i am already satisfied by just being an anoyance :)

thing is noboddy likes to fight with one person for more then 2 houres....if they do, i never found such a person :p

it's always fun to have someone owning you but then getting tired of you and trying to either go for an other target or be stupid enough to go iddle or shopping

had it several times someone was able to own me by having the double amount of kills i had on theù but then just being stupid enough to do stay in the session and stop concentrating on me and then getting on their turn owned by me :p

the most fun is when after that they start to rage on the mic for like 10 seconds before quiting :p

you know like: "you f*cking noob, you killed me like 25 times when i was gone, f*cking fa**ot, you can go and f*ck youre boyfriend, rhaaaaaagh, stupid fag" "player left" :D

Everyone I know who does this do it just to refill their health mid gun fight. That way it doesn't become a meaningless trade kills fight.

Or fight through it... get away... heal... set back up... and come back. You know, the way it should be..

OR do it the bitch way.. Shoot, kill yourself.. shoot kill yourself.. shoot again, kill yourself again.

In the end it is what it is is. Player can either suck it up and fight through it with some balls. Or take the easy way out because they simply cannot handle it..

Id rather eat a bowl of balls then suicide. Id rather go down saying "f*ck you" then going down and 'f*cking me'...

Ah, I must be mistaken then...but yeah, it's been done to death :p

I can understand it at times but most of the time people just do it to be cheap. It gets pretty tiresome pretty quickly.

I do it when there are to many cops and my health is near blinking red i also use passive mode when a nearby player goes offradar to me i think its smart playing but to people going up to other players expecting to be noobish and collecting free kills and end up with smart playing players and run away when they realise there sh*t compare to them is truly a pussy

Another excuse for another topic probably.

Usually I just go passive if I cannot be f*cked fighting with some random in freemode. Go play a DM or some sh*t.

Some reasons I usually do it:

Lose cops without calling lester (cooldown time period or its inconvenient to call) (usually the case)

Respawn farther away from xx_WannabeGrieferPleb_xx to potentially gain an advantage (rarely used)

Accidental :p

Gain full health without wasting snacks

simple solution, don't play with these assholes. First time they "take the easy way out" to prevent you from killing them, go passive mode and ignore them, vote to kick, find another session.

Hmmm. I can't be bothered to use my interaction menu in combat unless I have time to top off my health and armour.

But anything goes when you're trying to keep your opponents from getting the satisfaction of killing you.

You can call people cowardly all you want, if you die and they don't (by your hand, at least), that's a win for them.

For me too. But I don't remember the last time I killed myself in combat.

I've had some silly accidental suicides, though. Just today I went off radar to try and surprise someone, I tried landing my chopper to get on the ground so I could sneak closer.

Ended up hitting some prop on a roof that was invisible to me and I done blew up.

In the end though, this is just like the discussion about insurance fees.

Something happened, you died. You didn't kill the other player. But because they either blew up your vehicle and had to pay some money or because they used a tactic that is in your opinion cowardly, cheap, lame, etc, they're the loser and you're the winner. And that's what this is. Trying to make yourself feel better about it.

Which is fine, by all means go ahead and do that. But this is all old news. If you want a fair fight, play official deathmatch jobs or something. Free mode is not a place for fair, honourable combat.

I only use it when I'm about to get gangbanhed by a MC crew to get away or if cops are literally on my ass sideswiping me off the road and into corners so I can't get away. Death by cops is the worst

When I'm in a gun fight with somebody I do classify them as a pussy if I see their K/D is over 1.5

Lol 3.79 here monster gun battler. You'll go passive and run away like a bitch like they all do to get away from me. I also love taking on 4 man crews by myself. Most ppl are such sh*t at this game its easy to keep a decent kd.

If the point is to frustrate an opponent than yes, suicide is a great tactic, never give them the satisfaction.

Or kill kill kill them immediately go to passive mode, this also tends to frustrate.

Nothing to do with kd imo but if I kill someone I now have cops shooting at me and taking my health.

Once cops took my health bar into red zone and some retard shot me and began talking sh*t like he was tough when in actual fact, it was the cops that did most the work for him.

So why let cops take my health for some noob to finish me off in one shot when I can kill myself and respawn with full health and no cops?

It's called a fair fight....

And I believe this is the reason many people use it because when in a fr war zone cops are never too far away... So quit with all this kd bullsh*t...

Its a smart thing that successfully enrages the opponent into pulling their hair out and yelling at you, calling you pussy lol.

Nothing satisfies me more than when i make aggressors rage after i do this. When u can get under someones skin, you win.

I don't do it. Don't put up with it for long either. Offing themselves and popping up some other place all the time. That gets old quick. 'It's the cops! It's the cops!'. No, a cop out that what it is.

In competition today people usually always takes any means necessary to win, no more dignity and respect like back in the days, so I would say it's really nothing against the rules in killing yourself or going into passive mode, but if you are one of those who is doing that for the reason of not being able to accept being defeated, then you really are a looser.

Dignity and respect? Back in the days?

If you want proper combat with honour and such, go play Counter-Strike and challenge your last opponent to a knife fight or something.

People, you should all realise that this is Grand Theft Auto. Anything goes, always. The only rule is that there are no rules. You can adapt or die, really. Expecting other people to play by your rules and then losing your temper when they don't is childish. Get used to the fact that in some games, honour means nothing. Keep your blood pressure low!

I never said I wanted dignity and respect, only said that that's what was more common back in the days especially in sports. When it comes to video games, GTAV among others, it's the developers job to maintain the competition in the game because gamers will use whatever ever they can to win, so like I said, don't hate the player, hate the game.

I don't understand why anyone would care about K/D ratio in GTA. It takes around 30 bullets to kill anyone if you're not getting a headshot, so why even bother. In COD it shows who's fastest and most accurate, in GTA it just shows who's the most stubborn and patient.

More like on cod it shows who has lag (compensation) advantage half the time. The discrepancies between players are far too big to simply be who's fastest or any kind of skill measure.

You wouldn't have mentioned it like that if you didn't want it. The main reason I responded is because people keep saying "back in the days" like they're referring to events from decades ago.

But besides that, you're making it seem like GTA:O is broken, like there's something wrong with it.

GTA:O is not a duelling game. It is a game about stealing (and I suppose now buying) cars. Players are heavily armed so they can fight and kill NPC's and now also players. You should know by now that while Rockstar tries to get a little realism in the game to make it feel real, it's not supposed to be a simulator or a fighting game with fair combat. Again, anything goes and there are no rules.

You're applying logic and a mindset from different games to GTA. If Rockstar didn't want players to use things like passive mode or suicide to avoid being killed by another player, they wouldn't have put these features in the game, or at least not kept them in the game for this long after release.

Grand Theft Auto: Online is supposed to be chaotic. There's a LOT of other videogames out there where you can expect a fair fight with an enemy. Not here. In games, people like killing and people dislike dying. In online games, people like killing other players and dislike being killed by other players. So much in fact, as we can see proven every day in GTA:O, that they'll take their own virtual life before you get a chance to do so. This is extremely predictable and logical. The fact that threads like these are constantly being made are just proof that the tactic works.

Don't hate the player or the game. Go play a different game and/or play with different people if you don't like either. Rockstar has no responsibility to make the game work how you want it to. It's fine as is, and how it is probably intended.

It probably won't make a lot of difference, but if you want people to stop using this tactic, stop giving them the impression that you care.

On the bright side, it's just like the situation I talked about in the insurance fees thread. Put simply...

They consider themselves the winner because you didn't kill them.

You consider yourselves the winner because they're (in your opinion) cowards, "pussies" and all that.

Everybody's the winner. You're not going to convince other people, just convince yourself, be happy and move on already.

Which is more trivial:

Killing yourself to avoid being killed / avoid your K/D dropping

or

Caring whether or not someone you are hunting kills themself
