Slam_Jones
You need at least 8gB RAM, first off. Also, consider a better GPU. Something in the R9 Series, 270 or better. CPU seems fine, as far as I can tell, but it should be the first on your upgrade list, Edited June 13, 2015 by Slam_Jones
mahanddeem
Ok you need a good cpu. Consider intel i5 4430, or even better i5 4690. Much better than any amd garbage. You need any intel socket 1150 motherboard Get at least 8gb ddr3 ram. 1600mhz or higher. Gpu, consider nvidia 960 gtx. You'll be good. Xbox and ps4 are whole different worlds. They are not comparable to PC specifications. Games programmed for them are optimized to use their "weak" abilities. PCs are much more complex and need much more capable hardware. You seem like a polite person and I'm ready to help you if you want. PM me if you need assistance. Edited June 13, 2015 by mahanddeem

Thank you, I was using it as kind of a guideline I have only had an xbox 360 and I have never had a gaming PC and this is my first time. I am trying to keep my budget under $500 so i think intel is out of the question. 8gigs done and i might get the radeon r9 as mentioned above. I don't know why but on my laptop it keeps putting a white highlight around my text Edited June 13, 2015 by LeedleTheWeedle
LeedleTheWeedle
New PC: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FjJy23 OR: If you don't want to click link: CPU:AMD FX-4350 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor MotherBoard:Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard RAM:G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage:Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive GPU:Sapphire Radeon R9 270 2GB Dual-X Video Card Case and Power supply don't matter (neither does storage really) This adds up to $423.18 so I have about $80 to spare which would be nice if i could use for OS And once i have the extra money i'll go for the AMD FX-8350 Edited June 14, 2015 by LeedleTheWeedle
Viv1d-Shadows
@OP your new build seems pretty decent considering you only have budget of $500. In my opinion I would be happy with that. One thing though on the link you posted above you have a X4 860K but in the post you said FX-4350 which one are you planning to go for, i am a bit confused? Edit: I realised I haven't actually answered your question, my bad. Your proposed build should be able to run GTA 5 i mean have a look here: Edited June 14, 2015 by Viv1d-Shadows

Is it necessary to say "AMD Garbage", I prefer Intel and use Intel in my system but calm down before you start a AMD vs Intel war.. One being that all games coming out for the most part are now optimized for AMD considering both consoles are running all AMD hardware. Secondly for gaming, AMD is perfectly fine, even in a productive environment you can get a lot done. The only problem I currently have with AMD stuff is it useless a lot of power which hopefully that'll change with the new generation stuff coming out soon. Fun fact: Some of the Tech Intel and Nvidia use was stolen from AMD and just sold at a premium. Edited June 15, 2015 by VESIUS

Secondly if someone is going buy a PC, wouldn't they want to be able to use graphics better than what the consoles provide, otherwise why not just go with a console?
