A question to all you lag switch users: Did you obtain a lag switch just to get the crate drops?

 

Didn't think so, your probably using it for other "advantages" against other players.

Shows how much you know if you think that was a rhethorical question. But, to be fair, I have to admit that I did not only use the switch to get crate drops. I also used the lag switch to split off crate sessions for crewmates who had to work on the weekend or did not have all day for GTA for other reasons, so that everybody got at least one knock-off t-shirt. If using a third-party program in that way for that purpose is cheating then using Teamspeak to organize your crew into 4-player crew sessions as opposed to 30-player public sessions is cheating as well. The latter increases your chance to get a crate by factor 7.5 (more if crewmates are just there as "crate-spawners" and do not want any more for themselves), the former only further quadruples that chance at best (with a remaining failure chance due to elapsed time and bugged crates).

 

Seriously, I am completely puzzled about people who think that causing something for yourself that already happens on a semi-regular basis for people with suboptimal internet connections, especially on busy weekends like this last one, was on par with malicious actions by modders. One person lags out and everybody's chance to get a crate goes up. Saying that is the same as "I teleport to the crate and you all get nothing" is either an intentionally misleading comparioson or outright stupidity.

Yes, absolutely! People with bad internet connections who regularly need two or three tries to finish a heist finale without lagging out need more punishment. Urgently! *facepalm*

Races yes. Everyone will "leave" and you get the win and any bets placed. DMs I never used it.

I dont think it can be used for DM or pvp unless you are the actual host of the session.

Most people think anyone can go in a lobby pop a lag switch and start killing everyone. It just doesnt work that way.

But I cant say for sure. Ive only used it for glitches like getting the cargobob or in this case crates.

As stated above it will work in races.

Lag switch = intentional, blatant cheating and shows just how much you suck at the game. I picked up all 4 t-shirts, easily. 3 of them were in crowded, public lobbies and I was the first one there. One spawned when I was in a lobby all by myself. I have no shame in that!

Like I said, you don't magically lag out when a crate drops(obvious it can happen but be REALISIC)

 

Never had or anyone of my friends had connection issues until crates events, not on Christmas, heists, ok ok valetnines days but beside that none at all.

Sure. I will call my internet provider and ask him to turn down my lag issues to realistic DumbForum-approved levels. Probably have to tell a few friends who are clearly overdoing it with the lag, especially during heists.

Not sure if this is just bad luck, but sometimes I feel like I need my lagswitch just to make the darn crate drop in the first place.

 

Today, I got dropped into several public freeroam lobbies with special crate drop announcements, and I didn't use my lagswitch. Each time, the crate would glitch out and not drop. I've never had that happen in a lobby where I lag out and end up by myself.
