Are the Special Crate Drops only in Public lobbbies, or do you just need a miniumum number of players in a session whether it's Invite, Public, or Crew? Only asking since there's really no difference between a group of friends taking turns in a Invite lobby compared to someone lagging a public session. Nonone will know the difference anyways unless they go around bragging about it. With the way the servers are acting today, you really don't need a lag switch program. I keep getting seperated within 10mins of joining a session. A couple times with a special crate on the way.

First off, the lag switch does not affect other players. The one using it leaves the lobby and the rest are free to obtain the crate. Not everyone has all weekend to chase or battle for these limited items.

Don't have the time too bad, it's called life and before you go I don't live in game world like you. I've lost many chances to get things here, and this sounds like I can't play the game so I use god mode and hack the game talk.

Do I care if you use a lag switch? If it doesn't affect me, go ahead and use it. I play the game for what it is and I've only made legit pickups, it gives me more satisfaction from the game that way, but if you want to get an item desperately and don't care about actually winning the crate as such, go forth and do so. Just don't mess with anybody else's game experience and you're alright.

Sure you might think that is okay because it doesn't affect anyone, but its more the concept behind the cheating which is to obtain something, being a k/d ratio for the godmode user or some t-shirts for the lagswitch user, it doesn't matter, both are using illicit tools to attain something.

 

However, do whatever you want, who am I to dictate how you should and shouldn't play.

But remember all this when you ran across a modder that is ripping lobbies apart so maybe you don't get so angry at him for doing so, after all you're both on the same boat, eh?

You're missing the point entirely.

 

I'll make an analogy so you might understand better:

It doesn't matter if you're stealing candy or a bank, both is the act of stealing.

 

Point I'm trying to make is that you're cheating to obtain something, in the same way a modder is cheating to obtain their things, in different proportions of course but none the less you're in the same boat since is the same concept behind it all.

 

But like I said do what you want to do, but just because it doesn't affect other players it doesn't mean it's cool and dandy.

OP, why does the use of lag-switches bother you so much?

 

In every thread I've seen you in today, you've bragged about your "legit" crate pickups and whined about how using a lag-switch is wrong. It has no effect on anyone else other the person using it and it certainly doesn't effect you. If you like getting your crates the old fashion way, that's fine, but leave us lag-switch users to it and quit crying.

Going on the whole "earning it' thought. Everyone can pretty much agree the servers were running at max this weekend, thus performing quite crappy. Every public lobby I joined, I was lagged out within 15-20mins; some of which had a Special Crate Drop. Naturally I waited, and picked up all 4 shirts. Since I didn't have to deal with anyone else, does that mean I cheated my way to them? Was I not suppose to go get those crates when I was the only one in the lobby? I have a pretty good internet connection, so it's not my fault Rockstar's server's keep crapping out.

It took me less than a minute to google a destination IP to use.

It took me about 2 minutes to figure out the appropriate number of threads to open to not boot me from the game.

 

Total investment: 9 minutes, $0.

I'm gonna chalk this scenario up to "luck of the draw". I mean, if you aren't trying to lag out using an outside method, but rather are lagged out because of an in-game server dump, i don't really see that as a cheat. Like I said, I see that as just plain luck.

I can see the OP's pov. He wants his shirts to be rare.He wants to fight for them to make him feel like he accomplished something. Thats fine.

To me fighting a couple scrubs for a tshirt is not really an accomplishment but to each his own.

 

Working towards rank 100 and finally getting that rpg was something I feel I earned and was an accomplishment.

Beating CM was an earned accomplishment.

Beating all the elite challenges with both my charachters was an earned accomplishment.

Reaching rank 500-also a hard earned accomplishment.

I guess different players have different ideas of what earned means. If your a scrub I guess fighting off 3 other scrubs for a shirt is a big thing.

Honestly, who gives a flying f*ck if someone uses a lag switch to get a crate. Every special crate I've picked up has been legit without the use of any lag switches, and I understand why people would use lag switches to get crates. It makes things faster and easier for them, that way they don't have to spend their weekend hunting crates. People will play the game to their liking, if you have a problem with how someone plays the game then to bad, they won't change their play style just because of your opinion.
