Single Player. GTA has always been a staple of Single Player gaming and it always has been. GTA V is a disappointment overall, but it has it's own merits and I still do play it today. GTA Online however is decent, but I couldn't adjust to it and I couldn't see myself playing GTA Multiplayer. Yes, people moved on to the generation of Online gaming, but I have been a SP guy for all my years as a gamer. GTA V is a disappointment, but I think that GTA Online is a bigger letdown. GTA V is a very good game, but it is not in terms of great.

That's why I've only played Online twice and haven't touched it since October 2013!

Well, I chose Single Player because that's what it was built on.Honestly Online is just not that interesting to me. I like to role play, so if they decided to add different types of modes like fire, police or something in that nature I think it would be more interesting. The thing is that most of the GTA community is role playing and I just don't understand why Rockstar is not seeing that. I want to do more than just rob banks, I want to have other options to making money and more fun with those in the online community. :)

I'm referring to Online and why I found it unplayable. Singleplayer man here! I haven't touched Online since October 2013.

Oh yeah I have played SP since then but I'm still on PS3 however. I plan on getting PS4 and hoping for some good news from E3.

I quite like both, although I prefer SP. In online you can hear grown men arguing with children. It's the typical online over the mic argument, men berate child after child says f*ck you or something, child gets a couple of kills on men, men start telling child he's a little sh*t, his dad should've pulled out, stuff like that. Later on the men are saying 'you Virgin! Never had a girlfriend have ya' to a ten year old., the child may cry, the men sound so proud. These happen a lot. Listening to them is a form of entertainment in its own right.

See here's the thing, large open-world games are made for Singleplayer to their core in order to enjoy the pure immersion, role-playing, and escapism in peace! Empire-building for your character is also a really cool luxury that I believe is an important part of that package.

 

Online can never give you that unique open-world gaming enjoyment because your immersion is shattered by all the griefers, trolls, and fanboys that infest its Nightmarish world and there is no way to escape from those monsters.

Didn't vote because at this point I'm not sure. I've only recently gotten into online, and then only solo.

 

What I like about online is being able to create my own character - but a drawback to that is no talking.

 

I also like the different activities and goals that online has (ie, flight school challenges, which seem to be much tougher).

 

I'm just not that into the storylines in SP. Some were alright, but the overall arc is too much of the same old crap. I don't hate SP, but I can see how I might even come to like solo online more simply because of how, in my opinion, they fell short with SP.

Nope they aren't,

 

Online indeed suits Open world games even better in my opinion, I much rather prefer a GTA Online over any Call of Duty just because of the diversity of things to do
