OPINION TIME: What is the worst expansion/DLC in your opinion?

I don't understand people saying flight school. The Coquette Classic is sweet, the Besra was the best buyable plane until the Hydra came along, and the flight school itself was fun for at least one playthrough, plus you made a lot of money on that if you got gold on most or all of the missions. It easily surpasses Beach Bum.

People have different opinions? I like and enjoy the bifta more then most of the vehicles that came out with these free updates. Too me the bifta surpasses the besra as its a pointless jet.

Rockstar has never called them dlc, always updates because they know they are required and forced, dlc ISNT. I don't understand why people on this forum feel the need to push and call them dlc.

I didn't say you HAVE to call it dlc, I just ment it isn't incorrect to call it dlc. Dlc stands for downloadable content. These updates are downloadable and have content, which means it is dlc, but it is also an update. Both terms are right here.

Yep the only update to offer free vehicles and cloths. I guess people didn't like that idea and wanted to pay for items. Now content is getting more and more expensive and for the most part you see people that are happy about that.

That's your opinion and that's fine. I personally have liked some of the updates. I didn't say if something is free it can't be good, but that just because something is free doesn't mean it is good. I don't think all of the updates have been sh*t but I definitely would prefer a larger more expansive paid for dlc if given the choice.

I suggest you look up what able means. You're able to eat something, right? Doesn't mean you have too. So that means optional. Never have I heard of a forced dlc, it wouldn't be a dlc then. People want to argue the content in the updates are downloadable but the truth of the matter, nothing about them is "able". So its free updates with content. Not free updates with a dlc attached. Are people really arguing that it's not dlc just because it's an automatic update? Nothing in downloadable content says it's optional. It just usually is when specifically getting that tag. It also often comes with a price tag. An update specifically means that it's free and not costing a thing, these updates also come with fixes and things like that, which are also normal in updates. It's not simply dlc, they're also updates and when referring to the content it makes more than enough sense to refer to it as dlc as well.

Heists > High Life = Hipster > Valentine's > Business > Festive > Independence > LTS = Flight School > IGG P1 > Beach Bum

I honestly quite like all the updates so far - there's not been a 'bad' one per se - but on balance, I felt the Last Team Standing one was a bit ...lacking. The vehicles were ok, but a bit of a random grab-bag (a rather nice sports car ...with no modifications, and not a great racer, a couple of 'ports' of GTA IV-era bikes, and a Beach Bum vehicle with the roof removed), the guns were pretty good (but not ones I use massively), and the military-esque clothing was a welcome addition, but nowhere as extensive as what Heists would give us later on.

Compare that to some of the earlier updates, where the content was much more thematic/characterful (Beach Bum, for example), or really added some new functionality as well as the new toys (High Life), or just a whole bunch of cool toys (I'm Not A Hipster), Last Team Standing was just ...'stuff'. Stuff that's nice to have, and I've made good use of, but it certainly felt like the 'bare minimum' required to inject new content into the game, rather than anything to get massively excited about.

The lack of variety (especially viable racers) in the super class becomes apparent as all people do is super races and all anyone races is Zentornos, Turismos and maybe soon Osiris'.

People will always flock to top tier. It's really hard to have different things performing at the same tier but not feeling identical. You will almost always have something overall outclassing others. You can't simply give something good handling and acceleration and low top speed then have something else with higher accel and speed but worse handling, it's not that simple. Also, some cars can be better than others in certain races, so circumstantially it will always vary like that.

Jokes aside, I understand your point of view, but the example you gave me was kind of a bad one. Eating food is necessary to survive, just as downloading the content is necessary to play GTA Online. So if I take your word, I am not able to eat, because it's mandatory to survive?

 

Also, strictly taken, downloading the update isn't the only way to get the update. On the PC version, you can get the update files on a USB and install it yourself. There's a choice.

I didn't imply eating period was optional. That we have the option to eat, I meant it like we have the option to eat certain things that aren't optional. Like you have the option to eat ice cream doesn't mean you have too. I guess I should have made that clear, sorry about that.

 

Also you're talking about PC, can you play online without them updates? No you can't, unless I'm missing something since I don't have nor play on PC.

I doubt we will ever see an update based around another country's holiday though as like you said the game is set in America. Just like I wouldn't expect a game to be set in say Germany and it have an Independence Day update. I remember the day the update dropped there were threads asking why there's no Canadian or British update LOL

Beach Bum had at least "free" vehicles. They were useless, but not 2 million gta$.

 

Flight school was utterly senseless. I was thinking we were getting uniforms, muscle beach mini game to get abs, dogtags, air battles in Pegasus lasers. Nope. Vehicles that did not schoot. The cocquette classic is fun.

I remember I had a conversation with a Brit and they were so pissed about it. "I'm not American" blah blah blah. I said to them America cerebrates American holidays, what's the big deal. Now like you said if GTA was set in another country I wouldn't be like "wtf no blah blah blah day". But yeah it would be cool to have different cultures holidays in the game but independence day is one of the biggest, so not understanding why its in this game is a morons mistake.
