Mz. Hazey
GTA 1 was the first I ever played. Only top down version I ever played too. Played it at a cousin’s house. GTA San Andreas was the first I owned. Had an older friend who was 17 get it for me when I was like 13.

Prawn_Island_Fluffer
First experience I ever had with Grand Theft Auto was when my cousin came from a few hours away to visit. I didn't get to see him that much, and we were both around the same age. This would have been 1997 so I would have been about seven years old at the time. My cousin would usually show me cool games, we would download demos on the old 56k, which for something that was about 500mb or however large the original demo was, it was a long wait. I think it was something like only five minutes, you had a timer counting down at the top of the screen. You could do anything in Liberty City for those minutes, before the demo would abruptly end. From that point forward, I endlessly played that demo over the course of the summer. We played together while he was visiting, each taking turns, and watching, and when he went back home I couldn't stop playing. I was probably about eight years old by the time a friend with a CD burner (very rare at the time) copied the Grand Theft Auto CD-ROM. I don't feel bad about this piracy now, considering I've probably bought GTA V on five different platforms by this point, and the original trilogy on three different occasions.
