Your First GTA

Recommended Posts

Honestly, I can't remember the first GTA game I touched. It was either GTA 2, GTA 3, GTA Vice City or San Andreas. For the life of me, I can't remember which one came first. However, Vice City Stories is the first GTA I played all the way through and finished.

My first GTA was GTA vice city. It's also my first 3d game (never played any 3d game before VC) when I first got my laptop. The feeling was really good.

GTA 2. I am still playing to this day whenever I'm in the mood for replaying the same. Its one of those easy-to-pick up type of fun and interesting game that you just never get bored of it.

GTA III was my first game. I can remember back in '02 when my cousin and I were trying to download an emulated version of Gold Eye '64. Finished downloading, and we found ourselves disappointed that we got thia weird Grand Theft Auto game. Either way, not wanting to wait downloading a proper version of Golden Eye we took turns playing it and screwing around.

A few weeks later I tried convinceing my mum to buy it for me. The answer was always no... Until of course I unwrapped a certain box on Christmas day

I remember my dad was against me having GTA III, but my mom didn't see it as being a "bad" game. I was surprised when for Christmas of '04 I got the GTA III Official BradyGames Strategy Guide from both of my parents.

Dangerous and sad

First game was gta 3. Will never forget how angry my brother and I were getting when we were waiting for Claude to speak before I dawned on us that he's a mute. :D good times.

I first played GTA London 1969 in 2002 at a friend's place.

We were both around the age of 4 so we didn't understand that much. Besides that we used to play the first DOOM game and Jazz Jackrabbit.

At my place, I used to ilegally play Grand Theft Auto Vice City, around 2003.

Later that year I first played GTA 3 and I liked it a lot more than Vice City due to its dark and gritty environment, the better map and the modern design of the game.

GTA One baby! Got hooked ever since & I have no intention of quitting.

I've played em all except for GTA Advance (didn't have a Gameboy)!

I have most of them in both physical & digital copies scattered on multiple devices.

San Andreas. At the time I was completely clueless about PC gaming in general, so the idea of a free roam sandbox game that allowed you to use vehicles as well as walk around the map blew my mind.

First GTA I ever played was the original on the PS1, and I wasn't really into it. Then I went to a friend's house one night, and he had GTA III playing on the PS2. As previously mentioned, a game that allows you to use any vehicle you want to roam around wherever you want and do whatever you want was mind-blowing. The idea of a 3D sandox game like that peaked my interest, and GTA ultimately became my favorite series.

Ah.... Vice City. It's the GTA I first played and introduced me to this amazing series. I knew I was in for a ride. The branching story, the characters, the satire of American culture, the overall 80's feel and most importantly the basic fundamentals that made GTA so interesting is all in the facade of VC. I still play it on my iPad every week and I still enjoy it the same as I did since I was a child.

I bought another game in 1997 (might have been FIFA 97!) which came with a demo disc which had GTA on it. It had a 3 minute time limit! Bought the full game for PC the following week.

A three-minutes limit? this seems like an embedded Rockstar joke.

Grand Theft Auto for me, somewhere around 1998, we were on a school trip when a friend of mine told me about GTA.

I was really excited and remember that I couldn't wait to get back from the trip to play the game on his dad's PC.

Heh, good old days when were just kids and didn't have to worry about anything. :)

Late 2001 I was in my room playing with my normal 6 year old kid toys when I heard a lot of police sirens coming from outside. Following the noise, my curious ears led me to my 12 year old brother playing a game in the lounge room. Upon walking in the first thing I heard was "My mother's my sister!".

Because he wouldn't let me play, I had to sneak into his room after he left for school the next morning to play. I spawned at Portland safe-house, got into the blue banshee he had stashed in his garage and the rest was history.

Having the brain of a 6 year old, I freaked out when I drove the car into the harbour thinking he'd find out I had played his game and go off at me when he got home.

First GTA was GTA 3. I amusingly remember me thinking that driving 8-Ball to the safehouse was the entirety of the plot since I was so new to games back then. Discovering that the blip on the radar was the actual destination allowed me to discover the real experience.

I started with GTA 2 because I couldn't afford PS2 at that time. My friends at that time were enjoying their more sophisticated GTA Vice City. It was an waesome thing back then and people were talking about it. By the time I got my PS2, I bought GTA San Andreas, which was a huge hit when it came out thanks to VIce City's reputation. Compared to Vice City it has more features and i think the whole theme is cooler (Since hip hop culture was considered cool back then). The place is much larger than Vice City and there are more variaties of vehicles. The jetpack really helps the traveling and the planes are one of my favorite features in the game. The flying cheat is permanent rather than temporarily flying. Then I bought GTA 3 and GTA Vice City to get a better picture of how this franchise evolved. I also bought GTA 4 and GTA 5.
