Your First GTA

Recommended Posts

What was your first GTA you've ever owned/played? Mine would be Vice City and San Andreas, when I brought my PS2. I was also given a bunch of games, including VC and SA.

Gta Vc and 3. I still remember my reaction when i first played vc and 3 on the Ps2. I said how is this even possible? The freedom to run around in a huge city. My friends and I would take turns playing and see who could last longer at a 6-star wanted level. Gaming at it's best at that time. I miss these days no doubt :(

First GTA (and on of the first games) I played was GTA 1 in the late nineties. Only I didn't know its name back in the day and only played it because of the cars.

First GTA I owned,,, was oddly GTA 1 as well. My father bought it for me along with London 1969 when I was a little kid.

I got officially introduced to the series by Vice City though, somewhere in 2002-2003 :catloaf:

The first GTA I ever played was gta 3 way back in 2004 at my cousins house.

But the first gta I actually owned was VCS on PS2. I wanted to get SA but EB games were outta copies, so I settled for VCS.

GTA 2

My best buddy had given me a copy of GTA 2 for playing on school vacation. I played it a little, and I found myself instantly hooked, developing some great interest for GTA as a fan in the process.

This is the only GTA, I had put put a good deal of time in playing several times ever since the actual release over such a long time, and still hasn't given up completely.

Some stupid kids today come whinging and mock at us for our attachment with such old games and call as nostalgia rubbish, but honestly, it didn't feel right to me and seem such a shame to let myself stop, just because its old, dated, especially when it still surprisingly feels fun to me more than the new GTAs.

Games like GTA 2, III, VC, SA never get old and been accessing them because there are no better games yet to stop me from playing them completely! :)

First GTA I played was San Andre at my next-door neighbour's house in early 2006. But later that year I wished to buy a copy of San Andre at Video Ezy but there weren't any copies so I bought Vice City Stories for my PS2. And VCS is definitely my favourite GTA so far!

GTA 1, but I have to admit I didn't own a legit copy until GTA III. Yes I'm a criminal.

First one I played was III at a friends and soon after bought it, sometime in late 2001, early 2002. Then I have been buying each new one ever since, like VC, SA, LCS, VCS, IV, TLaD, TBoGT, CTW, and V. I just never cared for GTA I, GTA II or the London Expansions. I would play Advance, however, so I hope it's released on Mobile one day. I'd buy it...

First GTA I've played was London 1961, but it wasn't a memorable experience.

Some time later, I noticed all the kids praising this other GTA, which allows you to steal and mod cars, take over territories, kill cops with maximum inpunity and sh*t, I got interested and have been playing it ever since.

Then I got came Vice City, III, Chinatown Wars...

GTA 3.

It's quite hard to imagine someone's first GTA game being V and them going to the 3D era games.

GTA III was my first. I played it at my cousin's house back in the summer of 2004 on PS2. Soon after, my friend let me have his old (and slightly broken) PS2 and my brother bought me GTA III. The rest is history!

GTA 2 was the first one I played, my cousin had it for PS1 and when I visited him I always wanted to play it. The first GTA game I owned was VC for PS2, and even though it's now only my 4th favorite GTA, it probably had the biggest impact on me, it introduced me to the awesome 80's culture. VC still has the best soundtrack out of all GTA's IMO.

I have a strong connection to VC mostly because it's set during my birth year, but like you it introduced me to the 80s culture I missed out on since obviously I was only a child for the rest of the 80s and didn't remember it.

Mafia II does the same thing for the 40s/50s IMO.
