WTF is this passive mode sh*t?

Ahhh, another crate event, another topic complaining about passive mode.

Must be risky to go for a crate in PM because even if the guards don't cut you down, you need to hope that the crate glitches so that you don't need to break it open.

 

The special crates aren't crates at all. They're packages that you can pick up without breaking open anything.

 

Well that's my point - they're supposed to be inside a crate but sometimes they glitch in a way that the actual crate doesn't appear. I've also had it where the crate does appear but the package is just sitting on top of it, lol.

 

Easy Method:

1. Pay attention to Special Crate notifications
2. Request Buzzard Attack Chopper at least when it's 3 hours (6 Minutes IRL) away
3. Go into Passive Mode (Note: Will NOT work if you are on Last-Gen, but Buzzard still helps!)
4. Wait and hover near casino race track
5. Once it says the crate is dropping, mark it on the map and fly there quickly
6. Once the crate touches the ground land and quickly take the crate
7. Get back in Buzzard and fly off before enemies and other players kill you

Note: NEVER use a plane or jet, you'll have to parachute down and it'll be gone before you even land.

This is basically my exact method every time (I'm on PS3). Except I don't bother with any PM bullcrap. And I don't use markers as I'm told this can cause the glitch that prevents the crate from appearing.

 

I call my Buzzard and fly up fairly high and hover close to the middle of the map, usually just North of the Vinewood sign. Then I wait for the crate inbound notification and call Lester. Once his service list is on screen, I highlight 'Off the radar' and then go to the map and check what area the drop-zone is in. If it's close, I hide my blip straight away, otherwise I start flying towards the crate and hide my blip when I'm less than 60 seconds away.

 

If I'm first to the drop-zone with nobody else close by, my Buzzard makes light work for the NPC guards. If someone else is close I'll see if the NPCs can get them, or if they're right on the crate I'll obviously attack them myself. Once the area is clear I just swoop down and grab that crate!

 

No, the bug makes the makes the green circle, message and everything never appear. It just says it's dropping in 3 hours and nothing happens for about 15-20 minutes, then another random event happens.

So if somebody spawnkills me using godmode, he can just say he out smarted me by using a glitch or mod?

 

mods are different, if he jus used passive mode thats fair because you have the ability to use passive mode too, so he did out smart

Meh, I don't like it either but if you can't beat 'em join 'em.

 

I used a Swift to get mine...it's fast enough. What happens with folks in a jet (and buzzards) is they get overzealous and either parachute too soon or they wind up crashing cause they can't believe you're going to make it there ahead of them.

 

Stick around the Vinewood sign...I mark that as my middle point to get anywhere on the map.

Seriously, what. the. f*ck?!

 

Wanted to help my friend get his cratedrop but some people who tried to grab the crate were in passive mode so I couldnt harm them wtf??!. Might as well add godmode if passive allows easy crate drop colecting.

 

When I called him out for him he said itg was part of the game and the entire lobby defended him. Seriously my brains are melting because of how stupid some people are.

it is a part of the game so deal with it. you do not like passive then make out a petition and send it in feller. also you couldn't of put a bounty on them or called mercs? that would have made him pop out of passive or killed him for you. people only hate on passive because they do not understand it or how to fight it imo.
