Entity Vs Osiris: Which is better on the track?

Im astonished that no one has mentioned comparing arguably the best super car in the game which is the Entity against the new Osiris. All of my friends think their so fast in their new Osiris. So I challenged 5 them to one of my custom races around the city. (Basically the main highway the cuts through under the tunnel and around the city features numerous technical corners and such) Basically, it's a NFS The Run inspired track. Specifically a tier 5-6 track with a 4 star technical rating.

Obviously yours truly won the race but I must say that the Osiris is a nice car; I just do not think it's my cup of tea. Long story short, I believe on the track, the Entity would be a better choice. The similarity amongst Zentorno drivers and Osiris drivers is that most of them can only drive in a straight line....from my experience at least. Once it comes to the corners this is where the Entity shines in my opinion; especially when your drafting.

Is there ever going to be a super car that will just blow the Entity out of the water? To be quite frank with you guys, I do not believe any super car has honestly achieved this yet. Obviously it always comes down to the driver. But this was really interesting to me since I have been getting more into the racing part of the game.

What are your thoughts? I would love to hear some of Los Santos most experienced racer's opinions on this.

Zentorno and Osiris blow the Entity "out of the water"

I like my Turismo more than my Entity also.

Not an experienced racer, but I trust Broughy1322 with his videos ranking cars based on an average of lap times. He basically says that the Osiris is slighly faster than the Zentorno by less than a second, providing it is on a well balanced race track.

Here is the video for the Ill-Gotten Gains DLC vehicles:

And here is the video for the supers in the game:

I also go by what broughy says but ofcourse not everyone will be a good of a driver as he is.

If I happen to join a race I always go for my entity. When it comes down to hundreths of a second it comes down to the driver not the car.

I only drove the osiris shortly this morning. Did not really test it but it handle very nicely.

Well at this point i'm still faster with my Zen then i am with my Os. But i think once i get the know the car a bit more, it will be faster on the track then the Zen.

If you look at his lap times there's less than 0.7 seconds difference between the top 4 cars.

1:02.061 Osiris

1:02.069 Zentorno

1:02.706 Entity XF

1:02.769 Turismo R

As far as I'm concerned the better driver will win regardless of the car. It's not enough of a difference for me to sell my Entity and drop $2 million on a new car.

Also, since most super races are hosted by people who keep catch-up and slip stream on it really doesn't matter what car you drive. A stock Voltic could win if you avoid the first turn melee and stay in the leader's slip stream until the end.

I have no problem beating the pants off of Zentornos with my Entity. Can't speak for Osiris since the only one I've raced against was driven by a complete moron.

Osiris smokes the entity in every way. The entity is still going to be my go to battle vehicle (bullet proof back end) when i can stop grinning about what a sweet machine the O is.

in my opinion the top 4 are close enough to be competitive, just like with the coupe class, the top 3 of the compacts, the top 3 of the muscle cars and the top 2 of the sedans

but yea, the osiris owns all atm

I feel embarrassed for anyone driving an entity

Why? I love my entity. Had it since day 1 and I'm still winning races with it.

I appreciate anyone who drives an Entity. Gets boring seeing the same 2 Supercars all the time.

The cost of the osiris doesn't justify the thousandths of a second performance gain over a zentorno, but it does look so much nicer appearance wise. If you choose any of the top 5 or so super cars without catchup, you will win nearly every time if you are a good driver

I also still have a week-1 Entity XF I've had since launch.

Since launch.

How many opportunities have I had to sell it, and have I? Nope. Probably never will!

I dont understand people who talk about victories against other players to make their point, especially considering most players are terrible. I could pretend the Phoenix is better than the Zentorno since I'm always the first at the airport in Titan of a Job, lol.

You can only compare hotlaps coming from the same player. You can pick a balanced race, hotlap stock Oriris and Zens and choose which one is the one you drive the most.

The Entity is one of the most solid cars in the game, and by that I mean that it's extremely hard to loose control in it where other cars do. That along side its very comparable stats to the other top supercars means (imho anyways) that your more likely to win in the Entity. Skilled drivers and fluke chances may help the Osiris/Zentorno win once in a while but I'd bet the Entity wins more on average. It's actually almost to easy to drive.

Just my opinion.

Defiantly one of my favorite things about the Entity is the amazing handling. Some might argue that it might take less skill to master cause of the easy handling but I beg to differ. Since it is more tamable, your able to do some amazing/sleek drafting opportunities while racing.

^ THAT.

A few races against other players regardless of what you or they are driving are just about meaningless. If you're the best racer in the world you're going to beat them in anything. And if you're even above average most people you race against will be worse than you (obviously), so when the difference between your cars *even in the hands of a great racer* is miniscule, you're going to probably beat the competition most of the time. Which has little to do with the car and everything to do with the skill gap between you and your opponent.

I have my objections to Broughy's methodology, but as a measurement of raw potential performance, his is just about the best. Same driver running the same course, comparing average times of cars over multiple runs. That's a fine approach. The only thing it doesn't tell you is how the cars react when trading paint in a real, physical race. But if you're mostly looking for data on handling, acceleration, and speed, Broughy's tests encapsulate that. And by that measurement, the Osiris is the best (but just barely); the Zenny is so close that there's really no difference; and the Entity and Turismo are near enough to be competitive on most tracks.

he similarity amongst Zentorno drivers and Osiris drivers is that most of them can only drive in a straight line

This line is the reason that your entire post is pointless - You can turn a corner, these people can't. The biggest difference here is between the drivers, not the cars.

I outrun kids who can't even drive their Supers straight in an Insurgent all the time. It means that the kids suck at driving, not that the Insurgent is faster than a Zentorno.

I understand your point but I respectfully disagree. What I meant was Zen and Osiris drivers (most of them) just can only race in a straight line. For example, I believe the airport is one the most popular places for players to "race". Then you got some of these meatheads bragging how fast their car is. Like I said earlier, let's see them on a track I guarantee it would be a different story. And what I mean about the cornering is that the Entity is amazing at corners unlike some of the other super cars. But just like you and other mentioned in this thread; at the end of the day it's the driver.

I have an easy time beating Entities with my Adder even on non-contact races.

Even Chromed it and applied chome dollar wheels for the sake of trolling.

Racing in V is piss easy comparing to IV.

Now honestly, it doesn't really matter what car you drive if you can't drive for sh*t.

anyone who cant make a turn in a zentorno is just a bad driver, but then most people in this game are bad drivers, put any lap race on more than one lap and turn off catchup and most of them end up with a dnf

I feel embarrassed for anyone driving an entity

I feel embarrassed for anyone who spent $2 million to lose to my Entity.

Because owning a more expensive car always ensures you're going to be out in front? You mustn't do much racing - in populated races the chance of getting sideswiped or PIT manoeuvred is higher and if that happens I don't think it's completely fair to assume you're always going to be able to get back in first place.

Anyway, here's some stats from the files, I've thrown in the Zentorno as well for comparison.

Mass

Entity: 1500

Osiris: 1350

Zentorno: 1500

Drag (coefficient) (higher = more aerodynamic drag)

Entity: 8.5

Osiris: 10.24

Zentorno: 10

Drive Force (power the engine produces in top gear)

Entity: 0.33

Osiris: 0.36

Zentorno: 0.354

Max Speed

Entity: 155

Osiris: 159.1

Zentorno: 159

Brake Force

Entity: 0.9

Osiris: 1.05

Zentorno: 1

So basically:

  • the Entity and Zentorno can push other vehicles out of the way easier than the Osiris, and put their traction on the road better (higher mass).

  • the Entity is likely to hold its speed better at higher speeds and be less affected by the artificial air resistance (if any). Osiris has the worst (highest) drag, which means it may be less stable at higher speeds.

  • the Osiris is the most powerful with the highest drive force and top speed. However, Adder's Drive Force is 0.32 and Turismo's 0.353 and their max speeds are 160 and 155 respectively.

  • the Osiris has the better brakes in theory. The Turismo blows everything else out of the water though in this category (Brake Force), at 1.2.
