cryptorelic
So you ask if people on their choice go through the story without understanding it at all ? Everybody who does that did not quite understand the way it's working.

Lethal Vaccine
Some scenes can't even be skipped. The moment I see text on screen, I am smashing X on my PS3 to plow through the cutscene until I can take control of the Character and get on with it already...When there is a cutscene which doesn't allow to be skipped, I am STILL hitting X at the speed of light until it's over..........Or I just take a leak and hope that when I get back the cutscene is done with and I can continue... All GTA's. Not just 1. Edited June 28, 2015 by Militia

UshaB
No I don't. I love watching the cut-scenes. Somehow my stats show that I missed two, I clearly do not remember when that could of possibly happened but it says it. Love the cut-scenes.
Lethal Vaccine
That's funny, cuz in TLaD, it says I WATCHED 2 cutscenes, and Idk how that happened while I mash the X button until I can control the Character. UshaB

AuSsIeThUnDeR36
If you've got kids you are in a rush so you have to get on with the action instead of cutscenes. It's a fact of life when you have kids. Either this or wait until 1 am when they finally go to bed. UshaB

wiizardii
The cutscenes are an important part of the noir dark story of IV which I loved, so no I don't skip them. Payne Killer
Demoz
man a lot of games aren't very interesting to me, but IV, I actually always watched the cutscenes in them.
CarnageRacing00
Some I did, some I didn't. Some were interesting and well done, others were incredibly annoying featuring irritating characters, or were placed oddly at a point in the game where I didn't want to be interrupted with exposition. Timcatgt5
I only skip certain mission cutscenes if I know what happens. It is only until the last few missions that I watch and try to remember what happens. Only in some moments, such as Brian's random encounters, do I not skip cut scenes, because that man has such a sense of humour. When I attempt a speed run of the game, I quickly skip all cutscenes to save time.

When I attempt a speed run of the game, I quickly skip all cutscenes to save time. I always speedrun, so I gotta skip cutscenes for all GTA's. Not a "speedrun" by the majority of people's standards of exploiting the game to go quicker. I just play normally and even drive to every Mission. Never take Taxi's. But I do everything as quickly as I can. I am not sure if the cutscenes add to the Total Playing Time Stat. But I know they do in V. Even if they don't, I can't be bothered to watch them when I am gaming. I just check Youtube if I really need to. LazlowsucksiloveslutS
Me? I never skip the cutscenes, I have this personal rule of three; if I f*ck up a mission three times, only then I'll skip the cutscene by hittiing the try again on the cell phone. Other times, I'll hail taxi, or call Roman's car service. Some cutscenes are damned precious, "Do You Have Protection?" for instance. It is such an easy mission but a damned good cutscene.Where Mikhail says he can see through Dimitri, and Dimitri gives him his painkillers but Mikhail kicks them away and drinks his vodka, "Do You Have Protection?" i s a damed good cutscene. f*cking hardocre. It foreshadows Dimitri's passive-AGGRESSIVENESS, ANd later mIKHAIL TELLS niko that dimitri will betray his ass. that's hardcore.f*cking hardcore i ALSO CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF "cRIME AND pUNISHMENT"CUTSCENE - "sPEAk! Your dad likes it up the ass, what do you want me to say?. You think you're so smart? No! I'm a long way from home, while some ape threatens me with a hacksaw so I'm not so smart!" Fu11Force
Admittedly, when I was younger, I did skip cutscenes. I was one of those brainless kids who wanted to get straight into brainless actions by following the map marker then shoot things up. I ddn't play the game years later until I was in high school then I didn't skip cutscenes. I feel like when I grew up, I played video games a different way than I used to. Another reason why I don't skip the cutscenes is along with the story, also to appreciate the animations and voice acting. You could see how passionate the actor is to make the scene feel real and emotional. Sometimes, cutscenes are relaxing after an intense moment. Somewhat off-topic, but when I used to play RPGs like Oblivion, I used to skip the dialouge. Obviously, I didn't get much out of it. Now when I play them, I like to exhaust the dialouge options.
