Crate Drops this weekend

I almost had a second crate late last night. Another player got there just before I did, I was not going to kill him for the crate as I already had gotten one.

Speaking of crate t-shirts, there is a glitch allowing to switch designs between tshirts. Which means I can have a black crew neck KDST T-shirt.

I got all the crates on Friday for my female character (she has all the clothing possible on old-gen)

Since then, I've played in IO lobbies taking advantage of the more-frequent other activities. Wish there were more Smuggler planes; those pay really well. Too many Lester Purple Circles. Takes too long and can't blow them up like Armored Trucks and Simeon HPVs.

Go inside any LSC and then back out... this should cancel the purple circle!

I've been using a Hydra for Offense/Defense, but I guess I suck at BASE jumping off it as the weight is too much that it slows down for me and when I start jumping, I hit the hydra causing me to not able to open my chute.

 

The worst of my Hydra moments was when I was jumping off near the crate and my leg gets stuck in the Hydra.

Are crate drops over or something? Ive been jumping sessions for awhile and nothing. No HPV,Armored Trucks, etc going on to prevent them from spawning either.

 

Edit: Finally found one, and now I have all the shirts on both my characters!

lol, high frequency crate drops...

ive been online all weekend and have only seen four crates actually drop in a public lobby.

 

what I have seen is 10 hrs to special drop, followed by everyone "leaving" at once and no more crate drop.

more than two years later and the special crate drops still don't work like rockstar planned.

 

the worst part? I know I will never wear any of those butt ugly t-shirts but I still have to go after them.

I got my second crate, and just like the first one I did not get to use the minigun before I got kicked with the whole "Unknown Network Error" crap. Guess Rockstar does not want me to use it.

Finally managed to collect the first special crate I've seen during the entire weekend on 360. Woo!

I went for a crate at the Vespucci beach, I was closing in with my Buzzard and I saw one guy in a car drive right up to it, and just as he exits the car to collect the crate my missile hits him haha, then I quickly landed right next to it and stepped out of the chopper to collect it. That was sweet.

I've been going after more crates but purposely haven't collected any, just getting stuck in on the action and shooting the other players. I did manage to put a proximity mine on another one though, must produce a really strange reaction from the person going for it because they get blown up the instant they collect it

Anyone need an invite only crate lobby on PS3? Need 2 players to get to 4... I already have all 4 shirts, so I can just go around and do the other random events, so one less person you'd have to take turns with.

Apart from the mad bull rush to the crate, they're pretty boring , could of had other unique clothing items or bling; watches, chains, hats, jackets etc.

 

Rockstar should have a released a t-shirt "I collected a 'Special Crate' & all I got was this lousy T-Shirt"

It said one would drop in 3 hours but never dropped at all.
