Native function addresses.

How to find Native function addresses in GTA5.exe? I tried attaching a debugger but it just crashes the game before I get to that point, any other way to do this?

It doesn't seem like you have good (or any) reverse engineering knowledge.

I highly recommend to learn some RE first and then try to do this.

I've been trying to find resources on RE but wasn't able to find anything good. Could you please point me in the right direction?

These are the only ones I've heard of. I've never had the time to read them so I can't say if they're good or not, but I've heard about them multiple times from multiple people.

Sergeeeek isn't kidding when he says the game crashes. Apparently Rockstar put in some kind of anti-debugger protection into GTA 5. This has been mentioned by the more advanced modders, but I can't remember who.

Give him a break, guys :p

Yea, no sh*t, we all know that they implemented some kind of anti - debugger tricks(one of them is always throwing bad handle to ntdl), but that's what RE is about - understanding how code works, bypassing anti debugger tricks, trying to understand the obfuscated code or try to deobfuscate, and so on... you also wouldn't want to let your online game hacked, which makes for you money too (IAP).

To OP,

There are numerous tutorials about RE in Internet. You can find how to bypass some anti-debug tricks. Also you can look at NTA's code, how he bypasses it.

Edit: I remember that they null some global pointer which is accessed(deferenced) every tick.

All the best,

Paul.

Not gonna lie, I did miss the part where the OP asked for resources on reverse engineering.

I myself learned x86 assembler by reverse engineering Driv3r. It does help to know about file formats and how they work, since you'll be dealing with a lot of pointers. Now, x64 is a totally different ballpark for me, so I can't really say much about it.
