I know most of you are saying great that's awesome but people seem to forget not everybody use mods online and i am one of them.

So i have to wonder if this was intentional by R* to mess up modding in both Online & SP or just a goof.

But hopefully it'll be fixed soon

New patch > new scritphook > new "Online bypass". XX days later, new patch > new scritphook > new "Online bypass". Mods be back ;)

This is usually what happens when something major is updated. Everytime Minecraft gets an update it takes about a week or two for modders to catch up.

Hackers invade Online: "OMG Rockstar, fix this sh*t now!"

Rockstar patches Online to disable mods: "OMG Rockstar u disabled my singleplayer mods! Fix this sh*t now"

Rockstar relents, hackers invade Online again: "OMG Rockstar, fix this sh*t now!"

... and the cycle continues...

Well considering R* said they won't mess with Single Player mods only Online we expected them to deliver at least something of the sort so we could still use our mods in SP...

You're lumping everybody in with one group (Online) and it's not fair to those who have never used those menus online.

Blame people modifying Blade's Scripthook to allow Online modding, not him.

Exactly. People mis-using the Script Hook are to blame not Alex. :)

Yeah it really unfortunate. I remember bitching about modders and hackers ruining GTA V when it first dropped on 360/PS3.. Really could have been an awesome online experience, but no. Now its just infuriating that they're now impacting my single player experience very negatively.

I havn't even touched online since getting it for PC, having too much fun playing in first person and such as I passed up on the next gen version.

From what I am seeing around here there isn't too much to worry about hopefully and things should be good soon. I only hope.

Well what do you expect? Until a proper, official modding API releases, which, probably will never happen, every update will break modding. I mean, come on, what game that doesn't break most of its mods whenever an update for it released? Even Minecraft breaks modding every update.

Blabla.... And asskissers come back... it's totally different!

Minecraft is a Sandbox. There are mods and modders, but Minecraft isn't designed for modding, because it's a sandbox game where "we" can buid/create things in game.

Tehn "mods" made in game aren't this kind of problem. Only External mods CAN BE incompatible after an update.

External modding isn't authorized by Minecraft devs.

The hypocrites from Rockstar said "Modding is not authorized, but we love our modders community......"

But in fact, as usual, Rockstar doesn't care and troll us (as usual), and keep conitnue to encourage the amalgam between cheat, hacks and Mods.....

Stupids ass-kissers, go to hell!

Even in the world of plugins (e.g. Firefox) the same thing happens...plugins break; even those that stick to the guidelines.

Until R* stopped updating V, the game updated > the mod updated > R* saying not against SP modding cycle will be always happened.

Even GTA 4 patch break mods so this isnt really surprising

Yeah, it's happened on IV too.

Wait.

It's happened to games that intended to support modding too.

Thank You Rockstar. No script kiddies ruining the game for awhile! All trainer users need to be banned for life. You aren't modders, modders add content that improves the game. You aint hackers hackers have skill. You are punk ass little bitches running a program someone else wrote. I don't give a f*ck if it killed your single player bullsh*t as long as it fixed online for awhile!

Maybe I shouldn't use Minecraft as an example, but my point still stands. GTA IV did it, GTA SA did it with hot coffee update, pretty much every game out there did it. Even TF2 did it (server plugins had to be updated to work seamlessly with an update).

The thing with V is that updates are being rolled out much quicker than IV is, and much more persuasive. But from a technical basis, it's pretty similar between games.

2015 and people still don't understand this in gaming it seems. Mods will be broken after every update, get used to it. You can't expect your mods to work flawlessly after a large patch they changes a lot of code.

It also appears that changing native hashes is standard for an update, so literally every update will break everything. R* has the mutual agreement to not ban people for SP miss. Beyond that, they won't give a f*ck, they won't change the way they develop games to please people altering their code.

The problem is that the same hashes used in single player are also used Online and there is (or at least has) been little protection in GTA Online to aid in the prevention of cheating/mod usage Online. Thus, by "fixing" exploits in singplayer, it usually also breaks Online.

Nonetheless, hopefully there's an update to the ScriptHook soon. :)

Maybe by the time they come back someone will have figured out some new sh*t. The same old lame old sh*t was getting pretty retarded. I have challenged several Trainer Wanker Noobs, (Sorry your not really modders and don't deserve the title) Not a 1 of them could show me anything new or different than what all the rest had. A modder adds content so if you are modders bring something new to the game. Otherwise I will enjoy the time while your trainers are broken and when they start working again I'll return to recording and reporting to Rockstar in hopes of getting some of you the bans you deserve.

True.

Modders = Think "Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman"

Trainers = Think "Kids riding tricycles flinging mud"

I don't think rockstar did it so as to intentionalyl break story mode mods, with each update, everything shuffles around that affects mods, files, hashes and all that jazz. Give it time, and scripthook and co and other things will be updated. When part 2 comes, which i am guessing will be story DLC, then that will be a much larger undertaking.

Its not on purpose. They have already stated their support for single player mods = http://ca.ign.com/articles/2015/05/07/grand-theft-auto-5-pc-mods-get-seal-of-approval-from-rockstar-games But I can imagine they are frustrated with people taking trainers online and griefing multiplayer sessions.

There have been various discussions on how to block the update from happening to the main game files. Yes, this one required RGSC to be updated but you can still block the main game update and keep playing with your mods.

If you have not already updated:

  • Allow the RGSC update to run.
  • Then when the game updater begins downloading, that is when you block the connection (via a firewall or just unplugging/disabling your connection).
  • Only GTAVLauncher.exe needs to be blocked.
  • Continue enjoying SP mods

It is already clear what R* intends to do. While not intentional (even with their "support" for modding), they need to look out for their cash cow. Just need to weather the storm like we did in GTA IV.
