Ill-Gotten Gains and Modders / Hackers...

Just wondering if anything is going to be done with this update to address this rampant issue?

 

I had briefly combed through Rockstar's page but didn't find anything regarding fixes or such... frankly, getting very tired of 90% of lobbies I enter having someone modding / hacking in some fashion.

Edit. Even then, on the ps4 I ran into a guy in a team deathmatch, one using the infinite roll, and another one that had a 17.0 k/d at the end. He didn't die once.

 

It's a lose lose tbh.

Well have to wait till the patch notes come out and even then they may not mention all the exploits that have been fixed. They had a system to stop scripts (mod menus) running, but the hiests release broke it.

What platform are you on? I am on PS4, played everyday for 4 months and have come across just one.

upgrading won't do a thing. There are two different god mode exploits, one has something to do with the heist, and the other is an exploit that turns passive mode into two versions of god mode (one the players show up solid and the other they show up transparent) and a lot of the major issues plaguing the last gen version have made their way to the next gen version - namely getting kicked out of passive mode with zero warning, and super delayed bounty payouts.... Rockstar also ignored several of the well known, most used walbreaches....

 

the passive mode to god mode exploit has been present in the next gen version since at least January, and Rockstar is yet to even make an attempt to fix it, so op, don't expect them to fix any of it. Rockstar only patches stuff that is not broken and stuff that will affect their precious shark card sales instead of the stuff that needs to be fixed.

Strange. I, as well as many other PS4 users haven't seen a single modder yet. Not sure if I'd exactly call it "full". Precisely the opposite, really.

PC version will be getting a crazy update tomorrow... one that allows the use of mod menus (etc) in Single Player, but deactivate immediately without pinging information to the server you're on that you've got a cheat program injected into the game.

 

So yeah, I'm interested to see what happens as far as that goes. Chances are, before the week is up, there'll be new ways to inject those mods/ scripts into the game. It'd take Rockstar a fair bit of work to get an anti-cheat system that effectively works for PC.

See that's the strange thing... As you might have read about / experienced, alot of these Modder's will at times BURY a player in money, giving them Millions in seconds. I would think that this alone would motivate Rockstar to do something and Soon.

Its pretty simple. If you dont wish to run the risk of playing with modders/hackerss/asshats you need to play in an invite only session.

unfortunately we just have to adapt to them. find a new session when they show up if you can't get them kicked (though it usually works)

its not anti-cheat that will solve anything. people will get around that. its the possibility of things. if more things were server-side we'd see less ridiculous modding.

That's true. I'm assuming they do try to take action against those type of modders, though Rockstars ability to trace them down & throw them in the cheaters pool is unknown to me. Obviously they're incompetent, as these threads pop up quite often & many LG & PC players come across them on a regular basis. I guess I should have said "They try their best to punish those affecting shark card sales."

 

The best the community folks can do is report them in-game or try to record these fools in action & send it straight to Rockstar. Even then, your complaint will normally be in vain. The bastards.

then back to business for the modders

The only way to have GTA Online smooth, which is very rare, is if Rockstar patches the game like every 2 weeks. It would help though if it's like every week. If they don't do this, then the game, without a doubt, will have cheaters/modders. Even on PS4 and Xbox One there's a few cheaters.

They did manage to shut down the mod menus on the older consoles before. It also had a script that was downloaded each time so they could update with hotfixes if needed. If I understand this some how got broken in the heist release which is why we have the sudden explosion of modders.
