What do you think, will they return in GTA VI? If yes, will they be different than in V?

 

I hope invisibility will be a special ability, already posted this some time ago:

 

Being invisible for a limited amount of time could really be a new ability. It would be an amazing opportunity to sneak around with nobody noticing. Or to hide from police, to assault and assassinate people, to gain advantage in shootouts, or even to fool NPCs and animals.

 

Invisibility would be a special ability I'd really like for a future protagonist.

I agree with the other guys,only as cheats.I liked how in GTA SA CJ was a normal man,but if you got bored with that,you type in some cheats and he could be immortal,shoot infinite amount of bullets,jump 20 feet in the air,bunny hop bikes 50 feet in the air,fly in cars,punch people and launch them a block away...It would be better if GTA 5 special abilities were only cheats too.

Not a big fan of special abilities if they return they should be optional. Need an extra boost? go to the 24/7 and buy some adrenaline or caffeine pills. Whenever you feel like you need to use them take them from your inventory. Maybe take it a bit further and actually use drugs most criminals when they are about to do something do a line of coke.

Just play Max Payne if you need special abilities ( I'm talking about bullet time ). They are pretty useless in GTA , especially Franklin's one lol. The races in GTA V were just too easy with Franklin.

 

Cheats are enough if you need some extra-fun

I guess it would become a cliche for the next GTA to have special abilities, but I won't be surprised if it does. I just hope there isn't an Incredible Hulk mode again. I liked Franklin's ability though.

 

In GTA V I liked the idea of "special skills" at first:

- Franklin being in perfect physical condition, an excelent driver, but a poor shooter and pilot

- Trevor being extremely strong, an excelent pilot and a decent shooter, but a very poor driver and somewhat "rusty"

- Michael being in a "rusty" physical condition compared to his friends, but an excelent shooter, and well-balanced at everything else

 

Initially each had their pros and their cons, but no one was "perfect". As you increase the skills of each of the three characters (shooting, driving, stamina, et cetera), there wasn't almost any difference between them, apart from their special abilities... This kinda ruined the whole thing for me :/

 

They should have put limits to the skills of each character or just permanently locked the skill bars.

I actually like special abilities. The key thing is they are optional, so you don't have to use them. If it stays that way then fine by me.

 

If they give them to future protags then I hope they come up with some good ideas.

Hell no. Special abilities should not be a standard. Like everyone else, I agree they should be cheats like in past GTAs. Hell, I can imagine everything Trevor does a cheat, because I doubt he and his retarded friends (Ron, Wade) could do anything.

Invisibility? The ability to fly like superman while shooting the hell outta people or turning into something similar to the Hulk and smashing everything would be better. Invisibility is out of place for GTA.

 

OT: I think the special ability is a good idea, and I hope it gets implemented in GTAVI too.

Lord no, vanquish "special abilities" to a game series far away from GTA. They have absolutely no place in a game that strives so hard to stay realistic and mimic real life. In Red Dead Redemption, I didn't mind that John had a special ability, but in GTA it needs to get gone. Hell, our protags are already killing machines that take inordinate amounts of damage and keep on ticking. No special abilities in the next one, please.

I never used them except for objectives in missions that tell you to do so, so I could work toward the Gold medal achievement. But yeah, they should be cheats if anything. Trevor's makes him invincible, Franklin's makes cars go way too fast, and Michael's seems out of place for the game and ruins the fun of a shootout. I prefer that kind of ability in Red Dead and Max Payne not GTA

Special abilities are in V so that the kids can run around screaming "OOOHH YEAAAHH TREVOR IS BADASS f*ck YOU ALL!!!".

 

In RDR it made sense and fitted a true badass like John perfectly.

 

In V it felt cheesy. They shouldn't return. Cheat codes like in SA FTW.

I agree with what most of the other people on here said. The special abilities in V felt to " gimmicky " and just took most of the fun out of it.

Invisibilty? No, that's too over the top. I'd rather be able to transform into a Super Saiyan.

 

Jokes aside: Franklin's ability was useful, but made driving way too easy on the other hand. Don't think these abilities should return at all.

Driving was already easy, then they threw in a special ability to make it even easier. R* logic at it's finest.

Hell no. IMO, the special abilities are a huge step to dumb down the game, makes it too cartoonish, silly and easy. And we don`t need that sh*t. After all it`s still a GTA not SR.

The things like regenerating health, special abilities, skip part of a mission, hold 40 pieces of weapons at once, "hold left analog stick to turn the car back on the wheels" and similar bulsh*t has to go forever. It`s dumbing down the gameply and making it even easier than GTA games already are.

Terrible idea...Exactly how it was a terrible idea in V, as well.

 

I don't use Special Abilities and I also time to time forget V has 3 Characters as I also don't like that feature, either. 1 Character from beginning to end, through thick and thin.

Seeing as how Trevor has the "rage" ability in GTA V, which makes him immortal, maybe someone from GTA VI needs to be a genius playboy (and inventor), another character to be some sort of a God, and include an overpowered soldier as well (who can't handle guns)... Maybe throw in an archer and a blonde redhead for good measure. A schizo who thinks he's a bug would be a nice addition as well. It would be epic! :ph34r:
