Why wasnt the update released on the usual tuesday?

I read somewhere that the updates used to come on Tuesdays because that was the only day of the week the various stores were updated, but I think since then Playstation at least has made it so that the store can be updated on any day of the week.

 

I'd source that info but I can't find anything concrete on it so perhaps I dreamt it or something? heh I dunno. What Wombater_18 mentioned about the Casino though seems interesting

I'm just waiting for the thread of "What time do you think we can download ect". ugh. Before that happens here is the answer for EVERYONE. It will be after 6AM WED. Don't stay up, get sleep, you'll enjoy the update more and wont feel exhausted.

 

I am a rank 596 with 103 days in gtao. All DLC's were like this (available after 6am) in USA anyway. If not, please somebody bring up a "for instance".

My guesses (which I'm pulling 99% out of thin air like everyone else) are as follows:

 

1)

There's some guy at Rockstar, let's call him "Bob," who is in charge of the division that needs to be running to release the updates or is the guy that has to sign the paperwork to say "yeah, release update" or is really good at handling update problems, is their lucky charm, or whatever.

 

The start of the work week/pay cycle for R*, like a lot of company is, say, Monday, so that is the start of cycle and when they would normally do something big like release an update. But, Monday is Bob's day off, so they normally do it on Tuesday. However, this Tuesday, Bob is at his sister's wedding or some such, and won't be in the office until Wednesday, so that's when it's getting released.

 

2)

At some point in the future, maybe now, maybe a couple of DLCs from now, some guy at R* is going to realize that they released a bunch of DLC's on a Tuesday. He'll point it out to a friend of his (Let's call him Bob too, because I like calling people Bob, and I can do it in a Blackadder voice) "hey man, look at this, we released almost all of our DLC's on a TUesday. . .odd, eh?" THen he's going to shrug, refill his coffee, and go back to work while we all look for some bizarre reason why R* keeps releasing things on Tuesday.

My guess was they've given us an extra day to earn money but then I remembered about Sharkcards. More pre-warning of a DLC would usually mean less shark card sales I would have thought. I'm not sure about anyone else but I'm glad we've been given an extra day so I can earn some dollars.

by the way the casino won't be open in any update same as the stock market.

yes, both were intended for online by rockstar but now they have realised that these potential cash cows for the players would be very bad for their cash card business.

these would alsoincrease the potential for new bugs, glitches, and exploits.

but keep dreaming about it folks!

Probably trying to break whatever mould they've forged themselves into; instead of expecting updates on Tuesday or Thursday now they could literally fall on any day of the week.

 

As for ESO, I'm a huge fan of the series; but as expected the launch on consoles has been horrific with reports of some players not even being able to log in.
