Rob.Zombie
Alright so as you guys know the retail version of GTA V (disk version) is different to the steam version of GTA V. Is there any way to mod properly on the retail version. If you are unfamiliar with the retail version, it's basically like, you can only mod the update/update.rpf file. If there's any change to the other .rpf files, GTA V will not start until it redownloads the vanilla files. (if you kill your internet connection, the game won't start) When you mod the handling, you can easily just mod the handling.meta located in the update.rpf, however, when it comes to ped texture mods for example, there's no way to mod them. Another weird thing, is if I include vehicles.rpf in the update.rpf, some cars' texture will change while others don't. For example I managed to change the police's headlights to look like this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=448956707 however even though I used the exact same textures on the sheriff, the sheriff's textures remain unchanged. The same goes for police3's textures. Is there a mod which disables the automatic download of the vanilla files, or is there any other way to bypass this? MarshallRawR
You should use the "mods" folder technique with OpenIV. See their website for more info on that. Also, the sheriff textures were updated so you might be changing outdated (and unused) textures. Their current location is: update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday3ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf As for the corona, replace the one in there: Grand Theft Auto V\x64a.rpf\textures\graphics.ytd Edited June 9, 2015 by MarshallRawR
Crimson Flam3s
I used to play offline for a few days till it asked me to autenticate my account to play offline which is bs, then canceled the download and started playing offline. Eventually I got tired and simoly downloaded a crack and installed a separate vanilla copy for online.
6AR HC gsc
That some textures don't change is probably because they're stored in another path within the game archives not included in the update.rpf I'd assume that everything can be done from the update.rpf as long as the proper path is included there, so say for example there's a file in x64bullsh*t/more/levels/gta3/morestutters.ymt you wanna edit without replacing the original in x64bullsh*t - you'd imake a new "folder" called x64bullsh*t in update.rpf, then a folder "more" in there and a folder "levels" in there and so on then drop your edited version of morestutters.ymt in there and it will override the original one, should work with all files, no need to ever edit the original ones
Rob.Zombie
Thanks I'll try OpenIV's mods folder solution, as I already have something similar, however this'd mean I'd have to make copies of a lot of files, using a lot of diskspace. I miss the old days with IV modding.
Crimson Flam3s
Just use reloaded's latest crack, much easier and won't have to deal with the sh*tty and annoying RGSC.
