How Do You Make "Friends" On GTAO?

Ok, before we start, for some of you, calm your ass cheeks. I'm trying to go up against the grain, against the norm. Everyone knows that GTAO is hostile as sh*t. It comes way more natural to make enemies as opposed to friends.

And, for some of us, it's amusing when an in-game text is received on how someone feels about you, or when you hear the hatred in someone's voice through their mic because of your gameplay.

But, I'd like to know what's your approach (more so, what has worked) in being "friendly", making friends while on GTAO...

For me, I've gone about it a few ways...but the approach I prefer is:

1- I get on my Bati 801 and follow random players that are driving (making sure there's no passenger w/them). At first, it seems as though I'm chasing them...this is evident because they shoot at me and try to run me over. That normally doesn't work because their aim isn't too good and the Bati (or any crotch-rocket) is very elusive in close quarters against a car. They finally start to realize that I'm not chasing, im following. Im not shooting back, im beeping. Im not holding a sticky. Before I know it, we're doing other things besides killing ourselves.

Note: Get out of dodge if they decide to stop and get out of their car.

2- (Recruiting Tip) When I was running a crew, I met all my GTA Friends by killing each other. It they were a challenge, or better than me, I'll shoot them a in-game text, "Gg". Some would send a friend request after that. At some point I would ask if they want to join the crew.

3- Going Passive and being a "hang around" hasn't really been as effective as the above, for some reason.

PS- My gaming style has really changed. I'm like a retired Freeroam Warrior.

I help people out with heists.

I've befriended a few gamer girls this way. :pp

I do the same as giants giants. I also add friendlies I meet in freeroam.

How does a Freeroam Random become a Friendly?

Generally doing well in TDM and Races for awhile, people tend to stay where there's competition, and as long as you're not socially retarded, people even get on their mics and will talk with you too.

I've met and befriended dozens of people through lobbies that way, with just occasional mic use and maybe a message here or there, letting them know Good Game/ Race, or apologizing for a particular nasty crash.

Other than that... Free roam randomly, by not being a psychopath. Picking up a person in a tight spot sometimes, or when there's a good chase for a bounty even. I don't personally have a way of doing things in free roam just because it's so random and chaotic more often than not.

Oh and generally not riding in Chrome super cars helps calm people down a lot too. They assume you're a bit more reasonable if you pull up in something clean or out of the norm. The BF Surfer comes to mind as a pacifist's dream tool.

I say "yo man, wanna hang for a bit?" then we hang for a bit.

It's easy to make enemies, but it's not that hard to make friends either.

Making enemies is easy as sh¡t.

All you need to do is defend yourself and you've got a mortal enemy for life.

I usually recieve 2 friend requests a day just because I'm level 319.

BUT how I make friends is...

1: Seeing someone getting killed and help out.

2: Show my cars off or having people use my Pegasus vehicles.

3: Being friendly and funny and laugh a bit on the mic. ^.^

I pretty much add someone if they use a mic and are amicable.

Be level 371

Join lobby

randoms add me

impress people with my skills in missions or heists

randoms add me

providing randoms with air support via heli pickups was initially a method of getting on people's good sides but this was back in 2013 when everybody and their mothers didn't have f*cking heatseaking sh*t

sometimes I provide randoms with backup from my Lazer/Hydra or offer some rides in my Technical/Insurgent pick-up and they add me

You're implying anyone actually believes some random with a female avatar online is a girl irl

Nah, not my intent at all. I can count on one hand, in the past few months, how many lady gamers I've ran into (randomly) on GTA and still have 3 fingers unaccounted for.

"Gamer Girl"...that triggers a memory. oddly enough, I meet someone on here a while back. We planned to grind missions before the Heist DLC. When we initially met, I didn't know this person was an actual "she". It would always be her and this other lady toon. I started to notice, at the very start of every mission, the other lady toon would open both doors of the car...like clock work. It took a while, but she was basically opening the door for her. Turns out, my friends friend was a dude playing as a girl. I had never seen that before, someone opening the car door for a lady...in a game. Was funny. Was weird that she would also hit on my characters looks...even sent me a screenshot of my character and commented on his looks. That's was different.

(Lol, if you're out there and reading this...no offense, it was weird and new to me)

Having a mic makes it a lot easier to get along with people online , you can actually tell them your not gonna shoot or sticky them rather than follow them around the map like a freak 😂 I'd kill anyone that does that to me unless they message me or had a mic

lol There are no girls on GTA Forums.

Anyone who claims to be one is lying to you.

I make friends through heists and general free roaming/interacting with others.

Yea, but that's so conventional. And come on, most lobbies are ridden with silence. Also, it's kinda fun to follow closely at top speeds and not wiping out.

Would make the whole ordeal that much odder.

Unless the person looked at your character in the Pause Menu or through the window, I don't think he would've even known you're a girl gamer.

Retired Mafia

i've made a meetup topic 1 year ago, out of that we formed a crew of 240 members of which some are extrenely kind and nice players, that's pretty much how i met all the players that i play with at the moment. full friendlist has always been a problem tho....

Usually add people if they're good in heists. Never actually added anyone before heists came out

I'd get friend requests but rarely accept them.

In freeroam. I noticed an all out war can lead to friends. Especially when you're dominating them.
