ExplosiveViper
I have a dual-X r9 270X 4gb GDDR5, 8gb DDR3 ram, FX-8350 4.0-4.2Ghz. I get Large lag spikes frequently, espically in the city. I've tried lowering my settings but i still get the spikes and my FRS is at about 20-35 normally. Is this approprite hardware for running GTA V at or around 60FPS? It doesn't matter what graphics settings I set the game to. :I
RedDagger
That setup should definitely be enough to run GTA V at 60ps, however lagspikes are a common issue that doesn't seem to be affected by how good your hardware is. Try reinstalling your graphics drivers, see if that helps. Also, look at #4 here. Edited June 9, 2015 by RedDagger

I have the stock heatsink for my CPU. The CPU usually gets up to 60 degrees celcius when playing GTA V, would buying an aftermarket cooler help prevent lag spikes or is this irrelevant? I have also looked at the link and will be testing those possible soloutions shortly, thanks. :-)

Finished testing problem 4 on that link, solution 2 helped reduce stuttering a little but its still blatantly obvious :-(
