mikmik91
I wrote operating systems before you were born, a pagefile on an ssd just eats up useful harddrive space..... dumbass.... but im not going to fight with you.... I own a computer company and make lots of money, so fighting with you is pointless. You're a dumbass. Having a pagefile on an SSD is the worst thing you could do to an SSD. It will eat up so many read/writes your drive will die in less than 2 years. The only thing a pagefile does is mark a portion of your HDD to be used as "virtual" ram. When you run out of physical ram, windows will swap out a program you aren't using into pagefile, and load the new program into the physical ram. When you call upon the old program again, the system will sometimes hang as it tries to access the data off the HDD. If you have more than 8gb of ram, it's typically wisest to disable pagefile as it's rarely used and IF used, wasted space. This ^ Solid state drives technology suffers greatly when there are large and continuous amounts of write operations on the disk. For this reason, they are less reliable and typically not recommended for server environments. Personally, I don't use an SSD, so I don't worry about such "precious space". Lastly, if you really did write an operating system before I was born, it's evident from your logic shown from your posts that it must have been no good to begin with. It's just the limited Writes that make them volatile. The speed is amazing, and while logically, the Writes can last 5-10 years, it's all based on how frequent you write to the drive. That's why it's typically said to use an SSD for an OS drive, as you won't be writing to it that often.
NebulaHD
Background programs seem to have some issues. After disabling GeForce performance I was able to fix some issues. Anyway, I'm not really reading this thread anymore. I have decided that I mainly need a g-sync monitor.

That depends on how you use your PC, and how long you keep files. In my case I don't delete mods, and tools for games. In my desktop I have a 240GB SSD that has Windows, and 3 games on it but moved my user profile to my 3TB HDD. The SSD has 80GB used. I install almost all programs to the HDD, and currently it currently has 1.57TB used. However that number would be much higher if I had to move my files from my NAS to my PC. My NAS currently has 4x3TB HDDs in raid 10, and is at 3.5TB out of 6TB usable. Edited June 23, 2015 by ChevyOwner
NVT90
Here is the fix for stuttering issue. 1. When you are ingame, go to Graphic setting. 2. Change whatever your setting to another value. For example, your current Vsync setting = Off, then you set it to On, then press Apply, and then switch back to Off and press Apply again, then go back to your game. That's it, your game will work properly as it's supposed to be. And when I test those step, I notice something with the Grass rendered distance, here some pics. Load up your game and go to this area, for easy to see the result. Without step 1 and 2 After step 1 and 2 I also find a clue, that when driving the game more stutter than on foot, here some pics to prove my theory. On foot, Extended Shadow Distance = 0 But when enter a vehicle, the Extended Shadow Distance seem automatically set to Max On foot, Extended Shadow Distance = Max And vehicles in this game have many bugs like Smoothing Group bug ( modified parts ) wrong parts position ( most noticeable on motorcycle ) etc... The sh*tstorm is real and the WB executives are trying to contain the damage control all over the net. Even got called out proven to work for WB. You're a dumbass. Why do people ITT think SSDs are the exact same as they were 4 years ago? All the read write problems are a thing of the past

DigitalNikki
TUrn off pagefile... Srysly W pagefile the game uses about 3-3,7gb ram the rest goes straight into pf - with pf turned off the game uses close to 7gb ram and is stutter free... The amount of RAM windows uses will vary system to system, with or without pagefile. For my PC Windows uses 5-6GB with the page file turned off. there's no harm in having a page file Yes, and No that depends on how you have it setup, and your PC. If I left the pagefile, hibernate, and system restore the way windows wanted it my 240GB SSD would be full. Windows wanted a 64GB pagefile, a 64Gb hibernate file, and 30GB for system restore all on the SSD. I have disabled those "features." If something ever uses enough ram to cause programs to crash on my PC due to lack of RAM I will look at it as a WIN because I somehow used all 64GB of RAM in my PC. Hence why I said "usually". However next time when not on my phone, I'll clarify that a bit better. DigitalNikki
