NebulaHD
I have a GTX 970 with 4GB of ram. I thought that would be enough. I also have: Intel Core i7 4770 @ 3.40GHz 12.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz I get some frame rate drops, and sometimes even the game "stutters". Is there a solution to this? StormEye
Until you can figure out everything, turn off Vsync. Its an option that vast majority of people should not use, unless you are quite certain you can get above 60 fps pretty much all the time.

StormEye
If you are concerned about the fps being too high (whether it be temperature issue, or whatever), try nVIDIA Inspector and use a frame rate limiter there and lock it at 60 or 65hz. It will help to minimize the sudden fps drop that vsync brings. After you figure out whats exactly wrong, you can go back to vsync if you desire. But my suggestion for most games is for you to not use vsync unless you really need to. Alternatively, invest in a G-Sync monitor.
Spider-Vice
The game's vSync is bugged. If you turn it off, frame drops will be even more noticeable. Try turning it off but using the option in the Nvidia control panel. You'll get your good FPS and also a good management. 6AR HC gsc
TUrn off pagefile... Srysly W pagefile the game uses about 3-3,7gb ram the rest goes straight into pf - with pf turned off the game uses close to 7gb ram and is stutter free...

6AR HC gsc
TUrn off pagefile... No do not do this. http://lifehacker.co...ldnt-disable-it Yes, the PF is creating an artificial bottleneck creating stutters and lag - w 12GB ram no need to run a PF - w 8GB ram no need to use it to run the game unless you have less than 7GB free ram when windows is running for some reason - below 8GB ram you may have to use PF 12GB RAM - turn it OFF! explanation in some other post here: http://gtaforums.com/topic/789072-available-ram-memory-question/ Your link about PF is worthless regarding the game in question here - it interferes with the core game streaming mechanics creating stutters everyone is complaining about - turn it off and all is well - had the same stutters until i turned Pf off - i have 8GB RAM - memory load goes up to 88-92% and thats w warping and driving from S to N to E to W and back - repeat - no stutters anymore, no crashes either - turn it OFF for the game if you have 8GB+ RAM Edited June 9, 2015 by 6AR HC gsc

jeter2
Following the other recommendations on this posts, I would definitely turn off in games vsync system and use Nvidia Control Panel Vsync instead Also try optimizing your graphics settings through Geforce Expierence

Its an option that vast majority of people should not use, unless you are quite certain you can get above 60 fps pretty much all the time. I have a similar set up. I put v-sync on. I would rather have a little less frames, than have screen tearing. I have v-sync enabled in Nvidia Control Panel.I get 55 to 60 FPS, with a few lag spikes here and there, but those are not going away by adjusting the graphics. Self Radio causes a lot of lag spikes, but that isn't going away. I run the game just fine almost maxed out with a few frame eating, not so noticeable settings lowered. But when I first start the game, my frames are sh*t. They fluctuate between 30 and 45. This is after the patch before last. So to fix it, every time I start the game, I have to change my GFX settings, then change them back to get good frames. I usually turn on High Resolution Shadows, then turn them off, every time I start the game. I don't seem to have to do this on Five-M though. Theblackoutgow
I've had page file turned off for over a week and no negative impacts, as the other guy stated it actually started to use more of your available ram. Also, even though I set the PF to off Windows still creates and uses a page file anyhow and the game also creates and PF. So if you're having problems with stuttering I would give it a try. The game should have no problem running on a normal HDD. I'm not saying that an SSD won't help. But really the only difference he'll notice is maybe faster load times. Not increases in FPS. RedIndianRobin
Stutters are there for everyone, not just you. And none of the patch fixed the issue yet. And Self-Radio stutter is still horrible. That feature is completely broken.

As for page files, this is the equivalent to UNIX swap space: part of the disk is used as RAM typically when you are running out of RAM. There is usually no harm in this. Further, I said there's no harm in having a page file, it is equivalent to swap space on UNIX systems. I just wrote an operating system this past semester, so I know how that stuff works. Next time, my advice would be to get your head out of your ass and research the subject more before calling other people an idiot. Dumbass. SlaveZer0
I wrote operating systems before you were born, a pagefile on an ssd just eats up useful harddrive space..... dumbass.... but im not going to fight with you.... I own a computer company and make lots of money, so fighting with you is pointless. Edited June 22, 2015 by SlaveZer0
