Stewox
There is an OpenIV tutorial video for this, you don't need to extract ytd unless you don't use mod folder and want to backup just a few files, you have to open the ytd and select and extract the textures there, but to import back in you need to enable edit mode before you open a ytd file or else the import button will not appear. Once imported you should select DXT1 and leave mipmaps on automatic. I was just about trying to change a texture for the standard jet, lazer is in the military base and lazer is in the car spawner, none worked ... i tried the lazer_env_1 texture (army camo) and i used PNGs all the time, i didn't make a DDS for import so ... I used the x64e.rpf for this test. Maybe because I didn't edit the right files, the folder structure is extremely confusing in GTAV, it's too late in night for me to search where else it may be in the update but never found any vehicles there. EDIT: seems like lazer is using vehshare stuff and not self specific which is not optimal, not sure if we can do fully custom textures yet , only replacing existing names. Stewox
Some of the things don't load up properly in viewer or I'm missing something. A lot of shapes has a white-back dot coating on it's main texture and seems like editing the texture does nothing. The train locomotive is also the same as lazer, it should be yellow but once you open it it's white coat and I'm assuming I won't be succesful trying to replace textures there either. It worked on Blimp, and yes it works instantly inside the model viewer and I can preview my custom texture correctly.
