Why should players get more RP and money for playing missions with friends?

 

R* acknowledges that players should be rewarded more for challenging themselves (1.5x RP for "Hard" difficulty).

 

So why would R* simultaneously reward players more for playing with friends (usually making the missions easier through communication and rapport)?

I think it's more of an incentive for you to tell/convince all your buddies to get/keep gta and continue playing together so you can all reap the benefits of extra RP/$

I think R* is just looking out for parents....Its a conspiracy. Parents are hoping that their kids will someday make friends and move out of their basements.

I'm not missing the concept of an online multiplayer game.

 

I often play with other people, but my friends are only online sometimes and they don't always want to play what I want (GTAO has more than a handful of activities).

 

Playing with other people earns more money than playing alone, but without good timing and circumstance, I'm still missing out on the friends/crew bonus.

 

If R* prefers that we not play their game alone, then at the very least they shouldn't draw a distinction between me playing with randoms vs with friends.

 

So while this isn't the biggest issue I have with this game, it still bothers me.

 

I'm missing out on RP and money because I'm either enjoying the game alone doing all the work in a mission, or I'm corralling randoms and leading them to mission completion.

 

Meanwhile people who have all their real life buddies available to play after school get rewarded more for making missions easier for themselves...

Agreed it is a little silly but it helps if you look at what would happen if it would be the opposite: if you'd get paid more for going solo, everyone would just grind solo. But obviously you want to encourage people playing together, so the smart thing to do is to do it exactly the other way around: give a bonus for teamwork.

 

(Yes I know the pay could just be the same regardless of the number of players but like I said it's just to highlight the logic.)

 

On the other hand, I also think that R* are either really stupid or have designed a lot of the game mechanics simply as a trolling method, to make people hate each other. Also see: heist cuts.

Eggo, make new friends.....its not a hard concept. There is a section here in the forums, "meet-ups &lobbies". Go to it, search your system...place add....await friend requests. Its really that simple. I have at least 16 good friends from these forums who I play regularly with. There is always someone on.

 

Really not trying to be a dick, but the answer is right here in front of you. The forum is a tool, use it. You can place whatever you want in your add/request post. Age, time zone, headsets......etc...etc... Just go place an add.....friends will follow I promise.

I would be more receptive to bonuses being awarded based on completion time, taking minimal damage, getting headshots, etc.

 

The fact that the requirement is something that should remain a personal preference (playing with someone, playing with a group, playing with randoms, playing with friends) bothers me, because it is blatantly to benefit R*'s active player count so they can keep Take-Two Interactive's blessing.

I feel like this is the lowest of low.

I do some stupid sh*t when I go out on free lobbies (I'm a invite-only player, so when I go on open lobbies is just to grief) but this is just on another level. These people helped you out, you can't just kill them like that, at least give a 30 minute window so it feels more natural.

Also other times you said you play invite only, so what is it?

Now there is a challenge considering 99% of the GTA community are a bunch of idiots and think they know better than everyone else..

 

That would be worth all the money and rp you csn ever want if you csn get through all the heists with no deaths and in 1st person view..

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to want players to play your game......

 

There's no large conspiracy.

 

Rockstar gives a little bit more money and RP for those who play missions with their friends. It gives people more incentive to play in groups and enjoy the game rather than alone.

 

It's no big deal, honestly. Play alone if you want to play alone.

 

If you really want that money and RP boost, then, like many others have said before, find some people on here. They'd be happy to help.

R* wants to discourage solo play and encourage play with randumbs for one reason. To provide trolling opportunities for their major customer, 12 - 14 year old boys. It's been that way for over a year. This game is all about trolling now.
