What's with the whole "kid" calling?

Pretty obvious and expecting topic, apparently tons of people online call each other a kid, like "hey kid stfu" or "get off me kid!".

It's an old 2009 comeback which keeps coming back to this way, why are they even calling everyone this, i get the whole bully thing of "disrespectful parents" but i dunno how people are taught to call each other children. Where is this origin, it's a wonder i'd like to know.

I sometimes have the urge to call actual kids that, though not really as a takedown. Today I was discussing some good young players I know referring to them as 'good kids', gosh I feel old.

I always hear little ass kids thinking they're "hardcore" cuz they're playing GTA at 10pm (2 hours past their bedtime) and their parents don't know.

People should only troll kids if they're misbehaving. If you have the kid being a dumbass and swearing into a headset while killing other players, then by all means do your job and annoy them. It's their punishment and hopefully it will teach them a lesson. However, if the kid is acting well behaved, isn't yelling or swearing in the mic, not killing any players, and just doing their business, leave them alone. They're not doing anything wrong. Sure they're playing a game that's meant for adults but you really can't do anything about it. It's up to the people who are taking care of the kid. Whatever happens is on them.

Sure they're playing a game that's meant for adults but you really can't do anything about it. It's up to the people who are taking care of the kid. Whatever happens is on them.

Totally agree except the part about the kids not doing anything wrong. Their very presence in an R-rated game is wrong and we shouldn't condone it or facilitate it.

 

If you were in a bar and an 8-year old stepped up and ordered a beer, would you be ok with him getting one? I sure as f*ck wouldn't be - I might even intervene.

 

As for why people call each other 'kid' as an insult, I don't know - no one my age does it. Must be a kid thing...

Who cares if they are playing GTA.there's is why there is a rating on the box. but again some parents are either just lazy to raise their kids so they put them in front of a tv and let tv teach them or they are uneducated in the esrb rating system. you cant compare our gta's from back then with now. graphics have improved as well as detail.

 

and my parents didnt fail me funny guy I got to play gta when i was 17 when the time was right to play it.

 

there is the time to play these games and i just cringe when i hear a 10 year old playing this game and cursing like he is 20.

 

this is why the esrb rating system exist to this day.

 

when im a mother one day do u think i would let my kids play gta or mk..nooo not even till they are mature. sure they might play it at their friends but thats not allowed in my house.

 

it's like this would u sell a 12 year old a alcohol drink or carton of cigarettes if he/she asked for it.

Well in my book, I don't mind if a kid is in the server. As long as the kid doesn't start talking with their squeaky voice then I won't blast them to oblivion.

It's typically used because someone wants to feel superior by calling someone a kid (beneath them or younger) or because someone is acting childish. Internet usage is usually the former rather than the latter.

Nobody obviously. And that's pretty sad. I think we don't talk about teenagers. A lot of children on GTA are younger than 12. They are absolutly overchallenged with everything in the game and you hear that a lot. Youngest player I encountered on the mic was 6, parents not at home. Other thing that happens pretty often: Dad is playing and the 5 year old boy is sitting next to him.

It's just a shame. People should use condoms more often.
