I guess Wade is supposed to be funny, but I found him annoying. Still do. Spends all his time in a strip club now and apparently doesn't know when to shut up. And I honestly found myself wishing I (as Trevor) could actually talk to Ron about something, instead of hearing the same "whacko" scripts over and over. In the first mission Ron will help Wade escaping the Vanilla Unicorn in a heist style mission and drive back to Sandy Shores. In the rest of the DLC story the two characters continue their conspiracy paranoia and fight against things that don't exist... My brain hurts now. I'll be back later. Blastoise1994 Posted June 9, 2015 Share Posted June 9, 2015 I couldn't see Ron as a playable protagonist unless Rockstar did something like Mother 3 (different protags by "chapter") or KOTOR (Give you the capability to bring along a couple of friends for missions and let you swap freely between them.) Honestly the latter would probably work better for GTA considering the former would kind of take away the avatar aspect of the main character, IE customized cars and earned money and whatnot, but they would have to record a pretty large number of lines, or record multiple versions of certain lines your "sidekick/s" would say during missions and cutscenes so I don't really think I could see them doing that. Either way, if it's just a small selection and we HAD to pick one of Trevor's buddies I'd go with Wade over Ron, since Wade at least isn't crippled, no offense to crippled people but an old conspiracy nut with a gimped leg isn't gonna' be that great at dodging bullets. I could see Ron as maybe someone you could call for support, like Trevor calling him up to perform a ghetto airstrike on his enemies in a cropduster or something. Perhaps some event could transpire wherein Trevor needs Ron, building him back up and stronger. We see Ron shooting his pistol, and we know that he has excellent tech skills. I don't even remember if they are able to shoot someone in the first trevor mission or they just hide behind his truck, doing nothing. He's not a violent person, so if he (or Wade) killed someone without Trevor forcing him to do it, it would be completely out of character. There really aren't any supporting characters in V that could be protagonists in my opinion. Lamar has potential, but he's way too foolish and impulsive, and the game references the fact that he utterly fails at being a criminal numerous times. So, I think Ron, Wade, and Chef should stay NPCs. They should have had more screen time though, and we should have been able to take them out on friend activities. CarlitoDorito Posted June 12, 2015 Share Posted June 12, 2015 As a mini game yes, as a protagonist, he would be a bit hard to like, only because after 30 hours of his paranoid lizard people stuff, for me he'd be annoying. Maybe missions for Trevor where in bits you play as him, a mission for Trevor where the lost attack Trevor, it switches to Ron who's freaking out but finally grows some balls and takes out the Lost himself. You can't have wade though, only because he would load the gun, pull the trigger, it wouldn't work. So instead of asking kind old trev, he would look down the barrel and pull the trigger again, this time blowing half his own head off because when trying to make his gun work, he knocked the safety to fire without knowing.
